  2. Agreed. Hence the two out at 2500'. I don't care what manufacturer makes the gear, just hate the bashing issued when it ends up being operator error. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  3. I jump a Vigil and an Argus. Both hold the offset until you reset back to 0. Cypres has to be reset every jump. I started at Hollister which required the offset and it was a pain to reset the Cypres1 with the long count down after every jump. That is the very reason why I did not get a Cypres when my old one timed out. I don't jump there any more, so it is not as much on an issue. I'd be happy to jump any of the three AADs out there. Every AAD unit displays the offset on the controller. If a jumper actually watches the start up check that the AAD does, as we each should do, then they would see that the AAD still holds the offset. If they just hit the button to confirm the three blinks on start up and don't watch the start up confirmation, the unit could show an error code and they would not catch that either. As is often the case, if you don't RTFM and then follow it's instructions, it can come back to bite you. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  4. I replaced just the pull because I could do it myself and it was cheaper. I have since done it 3 more times. Twice on frinds suits and one of mine. It just takes patience to get the pull to slide on evenly. And did I already mention because I'm cheap. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  5. I had the same issue of needing an Opti slider pull for a BM suit I borrowed. Jari sent me an entire zipper and I just took the slider off and chucked the zipper. Jari sent it free and I got it quickly. Opti zippers are hard to find in the states. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  7. The reason they have few videos is because when twardo started jumping, the lift to altitude was a pterodactyl and the documentation was cave paintings. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  9. This has been discussed a bunch of times in the photo/vid forum an instructors forum. Yes, handcam is phasing out outside video at Cessna and turbine DZs. The other threads hit the topic well. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  10. I sure hope not...the entertainment value alone is worth it's weight in fertilizer! It is interesting how when a new jumper finds this website, they feel the need to prove how little they know and make sure everyone else realizes it. After a while said noob posts less and eventually learns they have so much more to learn. But for that short period, we cardiac patients get to laugh at the over testosteroned know-it alls. Bet Twardo is still laughing at me. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  11. Ask the pilot how s/he is going to like it when the FAA writes him/her up aftter a ramp check for a rig that is not sealed properly. Bet that won't go over too well. Damn it, fed the troll again! 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  12. Optimums have a higher resale value because they cost more... DUH! So your original post saying it has a higher resell value due to it being more expensive to begin with deserves an even bigger DUH! The OP said it was more expensive so there was no reason for you to state the obvious. Except maybe to add a comment to every post, especially those where you have limited knowledge. Sigh, just broke my own rule and fed a troll. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  13. Jump #58 Sabre 170, PDR 176. Being new to jumping a Sabre, used all the packing tricks to make it open slower. Tended to have 800'-900' snivels. Offsite landing area was at different elevation from airport which used offset that included +90' due to hills to east of LZ. Pulled a bit low and between extra offset and long snivel, main was out but still spooked Cypres at bottom of snivel. Didn't feel reserve come off my back. Had main toggles unstowed and initiated a turn to the LZ before I saw that reserve was out/inflated. Started out as side by side and quickly went to biplane. With main driving forward with brakes released, reserve acted a bit like a drag chute. Canopies flew very stable. Could not get to LZ, so to make my only landing area available, had to steer main using very gentle inputs. Watched canopies to make sure they didn't transition to downplane. Learned my lesson to be more altitude aware. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  14. Any updates? Soon, there should be at least one update per thread per forum per day. Hi Spence.

  16. The OP wants to have a logo on the bottom skin. This can be real pricey depending if it is sewn or can be screened. Also contributes to larger pack volume. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  19. Here's a question for you. You are a late diver and as you rush out the door of the AC, your rig rubs against the top of the door frame. Your upward tuck main pin flap gets pushed down as you exit. Your main pin is also packed pointing up. So as the flap gets pushed down, the pin gets pushed with it. Is this the best protection. Rigs that have a secure bottom tuck prevent this from happening. Become educated about what can go wrong to help you make your decisions. There are positives and negatives to every choice. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  20. Which tuck tab are you talking about? Risers? Reserve pin cover? Main pin cover? Why do you like the tuck tab being up? 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

  24. Hey folks, this has gotten a bit out of hand. The OP is obviously pissed about his dealings w/ KK. His method/content of the posting might not be to everyone's liking and I agree sour grapes are best dealt with in private. There are many threads posting how great a dealer's service is, but people often get upiddy when someone complains. When posting, having your info ready good/bad to prove a point is always helpful. So maybe everyone taking a step back a bit might just be in order. Gary is down on the other side of the planet from most skydivers and uses creative ways of making deals in buying/shipping to save buyers money. I have helped him in one such matter to buy something in the States and then shipped it to him. We both made out in the deal. I also made a package deal of several components that I am still waiting for the final item to be shipped. It has been frustrating in how long it has taken, but I fully expect Gary to make good. So please, unless you have actual experience dealing with Gary and know what it is like and have something to add, it might be worth giving both parties a chance to vent/make good before dragging either of them through the mud. *deep cleansing breath* OK, back to our tar and feather session. 50 donations so far.
