    Spent two days at the DZ in the wonderful comfort of RV to get some jumping in. Made a total of 5 jumps. -1 solo WS jump. -1 coaching jump on my belly. Yes, I actually took my WS off my rig. -3 2 way WS jumps. Got my student wingsuits back after having a few mods made. Had a cool conversation with the pilot/owner of an absolutely gorgeous Stearman. It is the first production plane of its type. So, of course I begged for a ride. He said "Maybe tomorrow". Might have finally figured out a name for the RV. Yes, I name all my vehicles. Deal with it. Wore an uber sexy costume to the DZ Halloween party. When packing up the RV to head out, got a call on the PA of "Monkey, go to the fuel pumps". Poked my head out of the RV and what did I see there, but the Stearman.

    And some of us born in the US that have played it quite a bit can also find it unbelievably boring to sit and watch it verses being on the field contributing as an actual participant. Man, there is nothing more exciting to watch than a good pitchers duel (insert yawning emoticon). I will go with a group of friends because the game is just another type of a social event for friends to get together. I can kinda sorta understand that you might like to follow your college team because you went to school there. But the folks that go around discussing "their team" or show up at the game fully decked out in jerseys and team color face paint just make me chuckle.     Unless you are using the black milspec bands, there can be a bit of variation between manufacturers. If you have that much difference between the old bands on the d-bag and the new batch of bands you just bought, change all of the old ones. It most likely won't really make much of a difference having some variation in the bands, but this will eliminate that concern. 50 donations so far. Give it a try.     Check with Velocity Sports Equipment which makes the Infinity (velocityrigs.com). I know they still make SOS rigs and should be able to retrofit a standard rig.     You payed to get the canopy in the container, which is what you got. If you had a misrigged pc, then you could be pissed, but that wasn't the csae. The opening is not up to the packer.     For 10 years, I lived 16 miles outside of Barstow, which sucked. As much as I hate to say it, it is better than Mojave or Lancaster. They really suck.     Have to second this. Have family living there. Lots of retirees from around the world living there either part time as snow birds or full time. Has a kinda stable government(hey, they change often, just not through violence), the cost of living is pretty cheap, and the people are very friendly.     On any given weekend day, there are almost always a few coaches at the DZ. Like Jeff said, finish your AFF and hangout at the DZ after sunset. Meet the regulars and you should have no problems finding someone to help out. Hell, I have been know to actually take my wingsuit off and do a coach jump once in a while.     Recently started jumping the semi stowless bag from Infinity that has the longer bridle. Love it. My openings were pretty good before, and they even nicer now. Just placed an order for another rig from them with dynamic corners. Can't wait to give it a try. Tony/Gail, is it done yet?????

    I train so that if the student only gets one jump with me, that they can go to another DZ, with a different plane, different manifest requirements, other wingsuiters who may have been "self trained" and be as well informed/safe as I can train them to be . Some of the training happens before their first jump, some as part of the debrief. But leaving out something as simple as a wave off that should be part of every jump, including a FFC or solo, is not the way to train.     We don't need to dumb down the training just to get another person in a WS that maybe shouldn't be there. If they can't handle the wave off, make sure they aren't chewing gum while walking to the plane. That can be over taxing as well. 50 donations so far. Give it a try.
