  1. Nice Work! Looks to my like she had a bump in with Gina Carano! http://mmajunkie.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/070209carano.jpg just curious, how long did that chop take you?
  2. well, you could always drop something heavy on your other foot then you won't be favoring one side and you can make use of you existing boots
  3. if your insurance has a nurses line, I would suggest calling them for advice, they'll probably just tell you to ice it, keep it elevated, etc... but you never know. you might be better off ($$$ wise) checking these out on ebay then going through a medical site. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=walking+cast&category0=
  4. when I was in boot camp for the army I had a 80mm mortar plate dropped on my foot and broke the first three metatarsal bones in my right foot. Went to the doc and they told me if they put a cast on it, I would be mowing lawns in a walking cast for the next 6 weeks before they could release me. I signed a waiver as there was no way in hell I was staying in that miseral place a minute longer than I had too, went out and bought a formal shoe three sizes larger then my normal size so I could graduate boot camp and go home before my permanent duty station. If I recall correctly It hurt to run, walk, limp for th next three months but everything has seemed to heal fine.
  5. If you can't tell I am emotionally invested in this, so lets stay on the ADHD vs Autism point. Is it possible that th overdiagnosed patients helped those that actually now have medications to help moderate the effects of ADHD, simply do to the huge amount of awareness of the disease that was created as a result of the over diagnosed? I would say it probably did. Now some one makes a post about how it upsets them that there has been an increase in diagnoses of Autism and all the "panic" associated with it. There is NO treatment for Autism that has been found to work, period. Give me all the Fucking panic in the world over it if it helps find some treatments, or possibly even a Cure. Why it upsets the OP enough to title a thread "Autism Real or redefined" make this statement as the first sentence "I've had it up to my eyeballs on this panic over autism" then make these statements Is complete beyond me!
  6. I don't. I have ADHD - a pretty severe case of it, and I don't find it appalling at all. A person with ADHD might find your characterization disgusting. I think that's what Katzeye is saying. Funding for it, obviously, would have a greater impact. The more funding there is to identify autism, the more autism you'll find. I do not find her post to be derogatory. This is what I find to be derogatory in her post. "now it's Autism, cuz my kid is "special" " I didn't characterize ADHD in my post, I said that comparing them is disgusting. while you as a person have to deal with ADHD you are a functioning member of society, in fact your quite an intelligent fellow. Now compare that to anyone with a mild or severe case of Autism and cannot be a functioning member of society and are dependent upon their loved ones to take care of them for the rest of their lives. Trivializing something with at statement like the one the OP did, pisses me off. I have no intention debating the merits of the original SFGATE article, or the content of the first post other then displaying my disgust with the trivialization of Autism.
  7. I have no idea what type of person you are, however your post bothers me. Growing up with a brother that has a severe case of Autism, which was most likely exasperated due to the fact that research about autism was horrible and cases were rarely diagnosed appropriately at the time the increase in current diagnoses is mostly due to the fact that we are still learning what the signs of it are. My brother was the most adorable cute looking baby boy, he smiled all the time. When things digressed and Doctors couldn't diagnose him he was put on all kinds of different medications, which in my opinion did nothing but further slow his development down. Today he is over 30 years old, he has never spoken a word his entire life, he has to be fed, changed, clothed, etc... To compare Autism to ADD or ADHD in the same breath is disgusting, they aren't even close to being similar disorders and to sit in your high and mighty fucking chair, dismissing the rates of diagnoses increasing is FUCKING PATHETIC. the more cases that are diagnosed, the more we learn about it, and the closer we can get to finding a cause, and possible cure for it.

    UFC 80

Yep, the mat can be slick if you have completely dry feet. I was very pleased with the event, more KO's than any other card last year and some pretty exciting fights. Davis has some BOMBS in his gloves. Grove looked horrible. GG, just can't beat Werdum... Joe was outclassed from beginning to end regardless of the cut. I give him tons of credit for giving it his all but right now there's no way he matches up with Penns skillset.

  10. come on let's make some picks... Silva GSP Sokoudjou Guillard
  11. I may not have been a constant or prolific poster for a while but I have been around long enough to realize when you are full of scheisse. come on admit it, you have an interest other then Schadenfreude in him, deep down I think you do... maybe it's Angstlust, no?
  12. I'm definitely NOT a teenager, but none the less I thought the ad was pretty funny. Will it get me to consider supporting Huckabee more than I already have, NO... but who doesn't need some entertainment once and a while...
  13. But, why waste your time watching a "nutcase" edit: just for those without the background of another thread ( I am being sarcastic)....
  14. So, does your poll have something to do with another thread sitting in SC about lagging polls? just curious... I have both.
  15. bill, you're a fairly reasonable man. I know this because we've dealt with each other over the years on-line and in real life. I respect you because, well, you're also one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. Knowing how intelligent you actually are, if I may ask you a question, bill, do you play the lottery? I'm guessing here, but I'd say probably not because you have taken a certain amount of math in school and realize it is, after all extremely unlikely that you'd ever be able to win. I look at Ron Paul in much the same way. Yeah, it's "fun" to think about never having to pay taxes again and reform the government. Sure, I get that. But I also think it's incredibly dishonest for him to even talk about it the way he has. He has to be either a Pied Piper leading people with his promises he never intends to keep or he has to be a complete and total wacko for thinking it actually can be done. He absolutely has to be one or the other; there is no third way. Certainly not by anything he's ever said in public. People talk about his consistency of message not varying over the course of time. To me, in this case, that's not a good thing. He's spoken for 20 some odd years about this "plan" of his, without even mentioning that, "well, if elected I'll have to just work within the system and do what I can do." No. He's consistently talked about the abolishment of vast sections of the government, parts of which are sort of really required by the U.S. Constitution. The guy is a nut job, has spouted the same crazy talk for years and is unwavering in his message. Sounds a lot like another President I can think of that also happened to come from Texas. The only way to change the status quo is to actually do something about it. Sitting there pessimistically saying it's impossible to have any impact is pretty pathetic. I guess I'm a whacko for believing we could do some good with some change. I think you have sufficiently answered the OP's question, you believe that he is lagging in the polls because you believe he is a nutcase.
  16. I believe Ron Paul is an internet meme. He is the political equivalent of the "Chuck Norris" joke. Nobody in his right mind thinks Chuck Norris would actually make a good Texas Ranger, but kids enticed by the "idea" of Chuck Norris think he's cool and the jokes are funny. And again, I think they think Ron Paul is "cool" because he IS a nutcase. It is unfortunate that your opinions on this matter will influence others. this doesn't sound like a nutcase to me. Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record: He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war. He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. you may disagree with some of his policies, but calling a former Armed forces surgeon and longtime politician with by far the most consistent voting record based on his firm stance with the constitution a "nutcase" is pretty sad.
  17. Though this is off topic from the thread, shit most of the responses have been off topic anyway... Dr. Paul's stance on the 2nd amendment is very clear. I don't think he needs to use 'code' to reassure the NRA or any other person / organization what his position is on this topic.
  18. Since you are declaring as a REP to specifically vote in the REP primary I would count your vote as a REP, yes.
  19. I know here in TX, you have to have been a registered voter for atleast 30 days to vote in any election. Tx is also a closed primary so you have to be a member of that party to be able to vote. here is also an interesting snippet. http://texaspolitics.laits.utexas.edu/html/vce/0201.html "Two types of primaries are used in the United States: open and closed. Open primaries do not require voters to declare in advance the party with which they wish to be associated. So, any registered voter may vote in any party's primary – but voters can vote in only one party's primary during a single primary period. Closed primaries require advance declaration of partisan affiliation in order to vote in a specific party's primary. Officially, Texas has closed primaries. But in practice, any registered voter may vote in the primary of any single party, as long as they have not voted in the primary of another party. Texas's primaries are closed in a less direct way: once a registered voter has in effect declared his or her party affiliation by voting for the nominees in a party's primary, that person cannot participate in the proceedings (for instance, a runoff primary or convention) of another party. "
  20. I think his response is quite on point, in fact its pretty sad that the mainstream media took to the time to find a 500$ contribution from one wack job and not give him any credit for breaking the record. I'm sure other republicans and democrats have received contributions from questionable sources but I'd rather it come from some idiot then a special interest group that has specific intentions behind there donation other then simply supporting a candidate.
  21. It seems to me that one of the reasons he is lagging in the polls is due to a lot of the internet supporters he has aren't actually registered REPS and are not being polled.
  22. Just curious and all after looking through some of the talk on the Ron Paul thread how many people here actually go and vote during the primaries? The 'other' options if for those that have an open primary and don't have to register as a REP or DEM to vote in the primary. edit: I guess I need to add something about guns or something that will hit a nerve to get people to respond.. I will be voting in the primary this year, and I'm starting to think that the primaries are more important then the general election as well..
  23. that happens to be a Gwar song title as well..
  24. Nice summary of glycogen storage and muscle repair! I haven't participated in those forums for quite a while but there are a good bunch of people there giving advice as well as support.
