  1. You can buy rubber bands from PD in 5 lbs bags (5 lbs of rubber bands is quite a lot, but maybe you and a few friends can share the goodies): http://www.performancedesigns.com/store_files/accesorystore2.asp?product=bands. Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  2. Nah... no pictures I'm afraid :( According to the video guy we were falling at -64 miles per hour so he lost us. And what a perfect raft dive it was.... and so Egon. "come on you, we're on a 10 minute call and we're doing a raft dive". "what do you mean you have never done one before, you are way overdue then so get your shit on and give me a ticket". Ahhh man, I miss you guys!!!!! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  3. Thanks Bill.... save the PD bunch some slots, we will definitely want to be on that one! Kolla Isaiah Greg Blue Skies Magazine
  4. I'm with AndyMan - the Neptune is a brilliant product, and Alti-2's service is 2nd to none (especially that Lara chick, she's pretty cool). And you know.... in the sport of skydiving, sometimes things fail to work 100%. It's not an easy environment for a little electronic product (or a big fat canopy for that matter). I think I can speak for all the manufacturers in the skydiving industry when I say that we want nothing more than to see our custemers happy, jumping their butts off using our products. If there ever is a problem - let us know and we will do our best to sort it out. That said, I'm sure Alti-2 will do what they can to get your Neptune back quickly so you can get back in the air :) Blue ones! Kolla Kolbeinsdottir Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  5. Pale Ale... Michael likes that stuff :) Personally I prefer darker beer, but since he was the winner I toasted him in that pale stuff, and it wasn't too bad. We did have a great time having Michael out for a visit - and I think he had a pretty good time too, jumping with John LeBlanc, doing canopy school with Scott Miller and hanging out with the rest of us! 6. Hi Walt - to curb your curiosity, all of PD's employees are of the legal & tax paying variety. Quite a few of PD's employees come from other countries - I'm one of those "aliens" (Iceland). Having people from all kinds of nations and races makes PD an exciting and fun place to work at. When I first got here my English was definitely less than perfect but the tireless efforts of co-workers and friends have helped me get a better grasp on it. And by the way, the Donna mentioned in the article is no other than "the Donna of the Maintenance Department" - so quite a few of you might know her :) Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  7. Hi all, just a quick post to let you know that Performance Designs now has a monthly newsletter If you would like to subscribe you can do that on our web page (www.performancedesigns.com). By subscribing you will get informative articles along with tips and tricks; news of our factory team; learn about our products and services and every now and then have an opportunity to participate in contests or learn about new products. This is a great way for jumpers to keep in touch with the manufacturer and continue to learn about canopies and canopy flight. Should you choose to sign up, please know that PD will keep your e-mail address confidential. Blue ones!! Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  8. The project is still very much active with PD
  9. Hi, since this case is a bit of an odd one I checked with our Customer Service department and they gave me this information: The order came to PD from the Relative Workshop (RWS), from one of their sub-dealers. PD produced the canopies and delivered to RWS on time. From there, it is up to the sub-dealer in question to make arrangements for payments to RWS and transportation of the canopies to their destination. I hope that helps clarify the situation. 10. Glad to have you back safe... hope you get some time to relax and catch up with friends and family. Woobie says hi and see you soon. Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  11. Hi Badlock, those charts you refer did not originate with us. The older website did not publish pack volumes either, only the wingloading recommendations - you must have us confused with some other website. We do not have equipment to test the volumes, but Sandy Reid (from Rigging Innovations) has done pack volume testing for the PIA in the past. Our reserve pack volumes come from Sandy - but since the volume testing is not very scientific nor accurate, I again suggest that you adhere to the recommendations of the container manufacturer. 12. Well the website got kind of late... so CK was old news by the time But keep on sending pictures, and you might just join Ian for some fame and glory! K Blue Skies Magazine
  13. Those are the active members - Heath hasn't been actively competing for a while. He remains a founding member of the FT. Blue Skies Magazine
  14. No shit... the zone and all?? Well I have given up understanding the wonders of modern technology. And bob.dino... we tested it on a mac... my very own mac, just last week. This is all very mysterious. Thanks for your patience guys and gals - we will do our best to get our website so that any OS/browser combo may enjoy! Can't wait to see the Skygod mail when I get in to work tomorrow - keep it coming!!! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  15. Well, chocolate has worked really well in the past. Not cheap American waxy chocolate, it has to be proper yummy tasty European kind. If you don't have any chocolate, sending us a cool photo, or a cool short story (or not so short) and some fun or precious photo might just land you in the zone. Being in the zone will likely bring you fame and glory, and we can only hope that it won't go to your head (just look at Ian.... sighhhh). Anyhow. The e-mail for the zone is InTheZone@performancedesigns.com. I will expect your contribution. Oh, and... if you are featured in the zone you get a cool t-zhirt. "I'm in the zone" kind of zhirt, that you can't get any other way. Which makes it double cool. I am going to leave now... it's been a long day, but to sum it up, there are two ways to get in the zone: a) chocolate (the good kind) b) send an e-mail to inthezone@performancedesigns.com have fun with the site - we had plenty of fun making it!! Blooooos, Kolla Edit: Apparently I must clarify WHICH Ian I'm sighing about. The one with the head case would be Mr. Drennan. I think there is a post about him in the Relative Work forums too..... 16. Well Vladi is plenty cool - but there is more. Chris, pop over to PD tomorrow, say hi, check out the place and I'll let you use my computer to browze the zone... it's featuring TSO-D so you gotta see it!!! K Blue Skies Magazine
  17. Tried it on my mac... the real deal, and it worked fine. It's a mystery.... but we'll figure it out - worst case scenario we'll build you mozilla persons an html site. Kollz Blue Skies Magazine
  18. Yep... Firefox doesn't like the zone for some reason. We have notified the webguy, who will no doubt loose sleep over it tonight. Try to endure IE for a little bit until we fix it :) Blooos, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  19. Hey Badlock, can you tell me where on the website you found the packing volumes? Please reply with a link to the page you found that information. PD has not published packing volumes in quite some time - we usually suggest following recommendations from each container manufacturer for the most appropriate fit. On our website (that is at this very moment going through some changes, so be patient), you can find an excellent article about packing volumes and why they may not always be accurate: http://www.performancedesigns.com/canopyinfo.asp - it's under articles. 7-cells usually have a tad smaller pack volume than a 9-cell of the same size, but I would definitely suggest that you follow the recommendations of the container manufacturer involved. Proper fit and sizing helps to make sure you get the best performance from your system as a whole. D-bags and/or containers that are either too big or too small may affect the openings. Hope that helps, if you have any other questions, please contact us at support@performancedesigns.com. Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  20. Are you guys ready yet???? It's getting really really close now :) Stand by to see some familiar faces from dropzone.com (and all over) appear by magic in the new PD Zone Blue ones... with some orange and gray Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  21. Hello freeflygirlz! We would love the opportunity to help. Please contact us directly at PD with more information so we can investigate. Please let us know what dealer you used and when the order was placed. Our delivery times in December were at 10-11 weeks. You can either contact us via e-mail (support@performancedesigns.com) or telephone :+1 386 738 2224. I hope that helps you get things sorted out, feel free to PM me for more info. 22. Hey you said it... and we are listening :) Plans have been laid to revise the stock patterns come this fall - if you have good suggestions send them on!!! (kolla@performancedesigns.com) Blue ones - and thanks for the tip!!!! Kolla Kolbeinsdottir Performance Designs, Inc Blue Skies Magazine
  23. Team Vibe at Skydive Dallas just got their Katana's, and Jon sent me an awesome photo of him and Brandon under their little ones. It is being made into a wallpaper - stand by for the new PD Zone on our website And Ryan, isn't this the one I brought for you to Richmond last year??? Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  24. I would suggest you contact Sonic at the Ranch Pro Shop at the Ranch. He's the owner of the gear store there, and they do have quite a few demo canopies available at the store. He will also be able to evaluate your skills and help placing you under an appropriate canopy - the Ranch can have some strange currents of air, so I would definitely advice you to talk to Sonic or other instructors there if you have not jumped at that DZ before. Safe skies! Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  25. Just an update???!!!!! DIET???? Accuracy canopy??? Well Canuk you are kind of on the right track
