  1. Ahhhh man - that sucks. You guys are missing out on a pretty good website there - lots of information on it Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  2. That's just brilliant.... pure poetry
  3. I know of 1 guy that has made some jumps here in DeLand with a reserve demo - for wingsuit jumps. That canopy is older than Moses and probably opens quite slowly. I agree with Bonnie. Demo the reserve to experience the way it flies and lands. Open up a little high so you have time to do some practise flares and really explore the canopy. Odds are that next time you find yourself under a reserve you won't have a lot of time to explore..... There is no need to take the reserve demos to terminal although it can be done. They are designed to open, and do so quickly. It's such a good idea to get a demo of your reserve - if you haven't flown yours yet, call the manufacturer and get a demo
  4. Hello Donna! You can also contact them via e-mail - either Rosi (rosi@relativeworkshop.com) or Egon (egon@relativeworkshop.com) should be able to help you out. Blue ones! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

  6. Yeah, I had a great time at Skyfest too - it was good to be back in Texas and see some old friends, meet some new ones and re-meat Turtlespeed Brit, thanks soooooo much for lending me your gear, packing for me, showing me the ropes and finally kicking me off - I had the best time - hope we get to do this again!!!! Blooooos! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
  7. Blessaður Guðjón! Velkominn í sportið
  8. Man, that is one cool picture you have in your avatar - check your PM Adding artwork to canopies definitely increases the packing volume - depending on the size of the logo and the design. The Katana logo does add a little bit of volume - and that combined with many of the demos being brand new makes for a little bit of a challenge packing. Enjoy your little 97 - I will have to start picking colors for my new Katana soon! Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  9. Man alive, all those dz.commers! I'll be there too, under the big yellow PD tent
  10. Hey there! Contact Robin at PD (robin@performancedesigns.com - 386 738 2224)! She works in the maintenance department there, and might be able to help you tame the openings on your Sabre. One option is to send you a larger slider, and in many cases that makes a dramatic difference. Don't hesitate to get in touch with her - she's a great chick and very helpful. The staff at PD really wants you to be happy with your PD canopy, regardless of weather you bought it used or new! Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc Blue Skies Magazine
  11. They are in R&D - and our test jumpers are having loads of fun with the "big" sizes
  12. Hey Steve! I would suggest to have your rigger or dealer take a look at the canopy to see if there is anything unusual that jumps out at them. The turn can come from the lines, the canopy or some asymmetry in the gear - the good news is that usually this problem can be corrected quickly. Since you are in Canada it might be a bit of a mission for you to send the canopy back to PD for testing, but I would definitely recommend that you get in touch with the chicks in our maintenance department. The best person to contact would be Robin (robin@performancedesigns.com - 386 738 2224), she will take good care of you! Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine
  13. The stainless steel grommets and the brass grommets on PD canopies are nearly identical in weight. The brass grommets are slightly wider (about 2 mm) across. blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine

  20. Hello Alana! If what Phree has won't work for you, drop me a line and I will if we don't have some old stuff laying around at PD
  21. Hey skydonkey! We have relined a whole bunch of canopies past 1000 jumps... even a few past 2000 jumps, and even a few with some silly amount of jumps on them. If you do send the canopy to PD, we will inspect it to make sure all panels of the canopy are sound and all seams are in good shape. If there is anything we don't like the looks of, our rep (normally Robin) will get in touch with you to let you know what we found. We will let you know in advance how much the repairs will cost and approximately how long they will take, but right now the turnaround for a reline and/or a simple repair is about 2 weeks. The cost is $15.00 for the inspection and $185.00 for the reline (for microline). Please contact Robin (robin@performancedesigns.com) to make arrangements for your canopy - if you tell her what size/model/type of line you are sending in, she can pre-order the lines and that helps us to get the canopy back to you quicker :) I would highly recommend that you inspect your canopy every 100 jumps or so, to monitor for wear and tear. If you see anything suspicious, contact a rigger or the manufacturer for advice. Canopies do have a limited lifespan, but with good care and proper maintenance your canopy will likely have quite some life left in it. And honestly.... I don't think we "overtest" canopies that come to us for maintenance. We inspect them from head to toe, and then make recommendations based on what we find. But, the canopy belongs to the customer, and the owner makes the decision weather to repair fully, partially or leave as is. If we see a canopy that in our opinion is not airworthy in it's current condition, we notify the owner, but it's then up to them to decide what to do. I hope that helped, please PM me if you have any questions, as I will be on vacation all next week, starting tomorrow
  22. Oh look... what is this I have here on my desk... mmm, it's a sneak preview copy of the new PD Factory team DVD!!!! Maybe I'll just pop it in my DVD player and watch it again tonight - just because I can Ian... hang in there, it will be out soon!! Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine
