Hi Pete! We all live and learn - and us manufacturers completely understand that sometime it is easier to log on dz.com than to get in touch with us - especially with the time difference between Spain and the US :) Please check your PM too ;) Dropzone.com can for sure be a good place to find information, but with any gear related problems I strongly encourage jumpers to contact the manufacturer with as much detail as possible. We want you to be happy with your gear - and we can often help set things straight quickly. Blue Skies, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir Performance Designs, Inc Blue Skies Magazine

The canopy is the same - no changes there, but the lines/trim do make a world of difference!!
-
Hey JeepDiver! I'd like to invite you to come back to PD for a visit, and see quality canopy manufacturing with your very own eyes - right here in the USA

Yeah, Denise was totally "one of the guys" It's an esteemed club to be part of too! As one of the judges, I was very happy with the event. The competitors made our job easy by being mostly smooth & safe, and we had an outstanding panel of judges so scoring was quick and easy. Big thanks to Jennifer, Lara, Sandy, Justin, Robin & Ron for taking the time to come out (and stand in the frigid Siberian winds)!! The 2 gentlemen setting up the course & changing it between events also deserve to be thanked - but unfortunately I never caught their names! We owe a big thanks to the staff at Sebastian for allowing us access to their facilities and making us feel very welcome. Now all they need is a pond... We look forward to the next meet in Z-Hills on April 8th! Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Cool!! I'll let you know when we have put down a few dates so you can come participate, we love having new buddies! Let me know what dates are good for you, we usually don't get going until May. The swim is the biggest hurdle for many triathletes, but in sprint tri's it's usually so short that you barely get wet :) If you aren't a strong swimmer it would definitely help to train in the pool and do some open water swims before the race. I personally think that the swim leg should be longer than the run leg, but thats just me... ;) Bloooos!! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Brie!!! Pick one down here in Florida and come race with me :) We have a nice group of peple that train together and we try to pick out a few fun races every summer - mostly sprints. I love to swim & bike, but not so fond of the running part :o| have fun training!! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Might want to consider a half marathon to start with - it's still a very respectable distance, and won't eat up all of your free time! Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Hey Tim! Congrats on your new Spectre - guess you were a good boy this year if thats what Santa brought you! You can find some really good info on flying & handling the Spectre on our website (http://www.performancedesigns.com/canopyinfo.asp) - click on the Spectre logo for a detailed document on that canopy. Contrary to a popular belief, the Spectre actually is fairly flat gliding canopy - more so than many 9-cells out there (this info comes from John LeBlanc, the guy that designs PD's canopies). With the appropriate input, the Spectre offer a wide range of motion, so through the course of the next couple of hundred jumps you can learn a lot from your Spectre (chat with guys like Alastair & Chris Lynch about canopy control - I'm sure they'll have a few tips & tricks for you!). If you need more info on the canopy or have any questions after you have put a few jumps on it, please don't hesitate to contact us at PD ( support@performancedesigns.com) - we love talking about canopies

Katie Drennan (this hot freefly chick in Georgia) taught me a neat little trick: open the right riser cover as well as the reserve flap - that allows you easy access to the cypres button & screen. Works especially well when the rig is brand new and a little stiff. Regarding the fit, if you still have concerns after putting a couple of jumps on it, contact Rosi or Mark K at the Relative Workshop - they will definitely take a look at your situation and might be able to offer help or advice. I personally like mine snugly fitted, so I wear my chest strap quite a bit tighter than you - but much of it is personal preference! Did you get a SkyHook too?? it's Skrzypczak (Martin's last name) - dead easy to spell Blue Skies Magazine

- completely agree there Sparky!! I did a portion of Scott Miller's canopy course under a Silhouette 170 (normally fly a Katana 107) and I was just blown away with the whole experience. I know some people are turned off by the fact that it is not a fully zero p canopy, but for a young jumper just mastering packing the ease of packing hybrids is just what the doctor ordered

Hey Jimmie - I work for PD, and my reserve is made in Honduras

CHICKS ROCK BOOGIE 2005, SKYDIVE ELSINORE!
Kolla replied to curtismelaniej's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yay - third time to chicks rock, this time to do some jump and have fun with the girls :) I bring 2 boy slaves with me; ladies, feel free to use and abuse them at will for demo canopies or any canopy tips and tricks! Love the theme this year Melanie - good work!! See you all this weekend! Blue ones, Kolla Kolbeinsdottir Performance Designs, Inc. Blue Skies Magazine -
Love my iBook, but now wish I got 12in stead of 14in - they are just so darn portable. I've dragged it around the country all year and it's been to more boogies than many skydivers - tough little thing. And, the white plastic is some fancy space shuttle stuff, purty as can be. Good luck choosing, they are all soooo nice :) Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Dude, this sounds like you have been at the bar, raising something... what is it again that PD needs to do?? Give Jay more Velos so he can set more world records? I'm down with that - go PD Factory Team!!! Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Don't have an update on the scores, but wanted to pass on some kudos to a hot new swoop-chick - LewMonst is competing in intermediate and doing great

Great news Conway!! Happy to hear that, the hard work & dedication of the boys has paid of big time this year. Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine -
Hey Kim, good job - proud of you!! You did the right thing - and gained more experience that no doubt will come in handy in the future. By the way, there is this place in DeLand that offers relines. I think they are called PD or something. Maybe you know where they are. Maybe you should bring your Spectre there soon.... ;) Blue ones, Kolla Blue Skies Magazine

Great news! PD also welcomes Hans Paulsen at Skydive the Farm as the newest PD dealer. Having the Chuting Start rigging loft on site will be a big bonus for the jumpers at the Farm :) Best of luck to both of you, Hans and Mike - I look forward to see the Farm grow and prosper!
