I've been to Skydive San Diego a few times and it was a really cool place, although I haven't been there in a while. That's in Jamul. Depending on where you are in San Diego and how far you want to drive there are a few other places you could go. See the list of CA drop zones here: http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/North_America/United_States/California/index.html http://www.uspa.org/dz/states/CA.htm Doing a tandem or two before starting AFF or S/L or IAD is usually recommended, sometimes required. Most drop zones will let you do a tandem regardless of experience as long as you're not too heavy and physically able. Be sure to let them know if you've already done a tandem and what you'd like to learn or practice during the jump. Unless money, time, or the weather is an issue you should be able to get an A license between now and then though. Hopefully a tandem jump won't kill you, but there's always a slim chance that it will. I'd recommend just starting an AFF, S/L, or IAD training program closer to home as soon as you want to, or do another tandem first if you prefer. Nope, as I understand it, the activation altitude of about 750 feet is the same between Expert and Student Cypres only if you are exceeding 78 mph. If you are going between 29 and 78 mph in a Student Cypres, it will fire around 1000 feet. [ url]http://www.cypres.cc/Downloads/6_2_Users_Guides/CYPRES_2_users_guide_English_11-2005_b.pdf[/url] For the student version from the CYPRES 2 manual page 12 It activates the release unit when it detects a rate of descent higher than 29 mph (13 meters per second). The activation altitude is split. In the case of rate of descent being approx. that of free fall, the opening altitude is at approx. 750 feet (the same as with Expert CYPRES). However, should the rate of descent be lower than that of freefall but still above the limit of 29 mph (e.g. with partially opened canopy, or after a cutaway), then Student CYPRES activates the release unit when the altitude falls below approx. 1000 feet (approx. 300 meters) above ground level. The student will then have more time to prepare for landing. Like the Expert CYPRES, the Student CYPRES ceases operation below approx. 130 feet AGL.

I think the Infinity still looks good packed grommet-to-pin. It is a little bulkier, but you can try to compress the d-bag a little bit to fill out the main pack tray. It won't look quite as nice as with the main packed grommet up, at least when I pack it. Dirty Skydiving Secrets - I must repent... : )
brianfry713 replied to Sebazz1's topic in The Bonfire
At least with a bowling ball and shoes you can still skydive all day and bowl that same night. Steve and I often go after we get back home from the DZ. I used to golf almost every weekend, although I usually suck , but I always go for it . Now I only seem to golf a couple times a year when I'm visiting family. -

Skydive Radio show #25 features Chris Salcone: http://www.skydiveradio.com/shows.htm He talks about freeflying, his progression into the sport, Davis and the PAC 750XL, and more. You're right, he is a "very cool person and excellent skydiver". -
Besides your dick, what do you like most in your vaginas ?
brianfry713 replied to cocheese's topic in The Bonfire
Did anyone else read this thread title and think, wait a minute, I don't have a dick and a vagina. From a recent Family Guy: Auntie, is it bad if your penis and vagina touch each other. WHAT? I mean, I usually try to keep them separated, but they accidently bumped into each other last night. YOU HAVE BOTH? Yeah, doesn't everybody? NOOOOOO! Call your local DZ's about water training. Usually they'll schedule it once they receive enough interest. Everything else you need is listed here: http://www.uspa.org/publications/SIM/2006SIM/section3.htm#31e Here's the other stuff you need. accumulated at least 30 minutes of controlled freefall time landed within ten meters of target center on ten jumps aerial performance requirements, either: (1) demonstrated the ability to perform individual maneuvers (left 360, right 360, backloop, left 360, right 360, backloop) in freefall in 18 seconds or less (2) or successful completion of the planned formation(s) on ten group freefall jumps passed a written exam conducted by a current USPA I, I/E, S&TA, or USPA Board member. To prepare, you can make sure your logbook is up to date and download and start filling out this form. http://www.uspa.org/publications/form.pdf/License_app_06-05.pdf BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative -

I've had a few sports injuries more serious and embarrassing than my bowling ones . Good form and a ball that fits you are important. Plus work your way up to bowling a lot. I've got a few big callous' on my right hand, I used to bleed often after a long night of bowling. I huck a 16 pounder since 17's aren't allowed . -

Frontier Sky Divers MOST Expensive place to train
brianfry713 replied to JohnElliott's topic in Events & Places to Jump
All right, I'm all for people bowling, but I know a few people that can't afford it and think it takes a little bit of brains to do well. I had a kid almost take me out in the lane next to me by throwing the ball into the bottom of my foot right after I bowled. I thought it'd be embarrassing if I femured bowling so I had to ask him to wait until I cleared the lane. I've seen balls go backwards, last night a friend of mine threw the ball into the sweep and it came back towards us pretty quick. Sometimes we bowl more than 14 games a night, plus food and beer and billiards it gets pretty expensive. Often I'm contemplating the best way to approach a split such as a 3-9-10, or one of the other 1,023 possible spares. Such things as lane oil level, surface, fatigue, BAC, focus, and distractions such as cosmic bowling keep you thinking and trying to maintain focus on your game. I voted for #2, mainly because #3 looks just like mine and a few others I've seen . Popular, but good looking colors. BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative

I had a skiing accident where I smashed up my face pretty good, I ended up with an "extra" wisdom tooth floating in my gum above one of my other wisdom teeth. I got knocked out and had all 5 pulled and it swelled up my face pretty good, and made it harder to breathe for a few weeks, but seemed to slow me down a little bit for about a month. The stiches inside my mouth were very annoying, but once those were out it wasn't too bad. We say a huge white flash from a transformer explosion in Santa Cruz on Monday night. We didn't have power until about 3 am, but I heard it was out longer in nearby places. There's a similar pic here by the same photographer in Mexico. It also looks like the same hangar, but he's wearing a jumpsuit. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=32041&d=1 It's also discussed somewhat at the end of this thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=2084471;page=4 BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative

Infinity I-44, Sabre 2 170, PDR 160, Cypres 2, hook knife = 22 lbs. Vector 2 V5, Falcon 215, Raven II 218, Cypres, hook knife = 22 lbs Apex DP, Ace 280, hook knife = 17 lbs There was a joke in another thread that you should add 5 lbs for the extra 's' at the end of Cypres . If you want to do it as cheaply as possible, why don't you click "Dropzones" above, call all the ones you find whith acceptable driving distance for you, ask for their prices for whatever training method you choose, and decide based on that. Seems simple right? BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative
