1. There is not question whether he broke the law, the question is whether it was necessary or not. No. The question is whether his illegal disclosure of classified information to the press constitutes providing aid to the enemy. From what I've thus far read, I don't think it does, but I'm not a member of the jury. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
2. Reading more, it appears that the leaks, to which he has plead guilty, carry a maximum sentence of 20 years. If he's convicted of aiding the enemy he'll face life, but the more I read on the matter, the more I feel such charges are not justified. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 3. I strongly disagree with the decision. It guarantees a new vector for wrongful convictions, which seems to be exactly the opposite of what the Framers intended. DNA matching is useful when comparing DNA found at a crime scene to DNA from a small pool of suspects. Using a large pool of DNA profiles to identify a suspect results in a much lower probability that a DNA match indicates guilt. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
4. I think much of his sentence will depend on how the Arab Spring ultimately turns out. If the historians view the leaks as a catalyst for positive change in the region 20-30 years from now, I don't see him staying in prison. His actions were absolutely unethical and illegal. It's far too early to know if they were good or bad. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
5. While I don't disagree that sentiment, I suspect that he really did have good intentions. That said, I'll be surprised if he's not convicted. Considering the Arab Spring in which his leaks arguably played a role, I won't be surprised if he's ultimately pardoned or otherwise receives some sort of clemency. Math tutoring available. 9. Normiss's point here was regarding the subsidies provided for electric cars and bilvon pretended to not understand that. Billvon correctly pointed out that use of large vehicles is also often subsidized in the US. It's not as though EVs are the only vehicles on the road being subsidized. Math tutoring available. 12. Yeah, I know. They've been trying to cover it up. Plate tectonics my ass. Keep up the good work getting the truth out. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
13. That's ridiculous. Fire-breathing dragons probably exist. Since you can't prove fire-breathing dragons don't exist, then it's probably true that fire-breathing dragons exist. QE f'n D. Oh, and it was the dragons that really started the Great Chicago Fire. They just want you to believe it was a cow. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
14. Sounds like fluorescence to me. Usually it's UV that illuminates the object, and it re-emits in the visible range (blue/green normally, but not necessarily) Thank you. That's very helpful. It does raise more questions, however. Do most objects fluoresce? Suppose I shine a broad spectrum white light (let's say a 3200 K correlated color temperature xenon incandescent lamp) at a tree. Since the tree does not reflect all of the component wavelengths of the white light, do the non-reflected wavelengths result in fluorescence? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 15. Consider an object that reflects only the red colors (i.e., 620–750 nm wavelengths) in the visible spectrum. Suppose someone shines a monochromatic blue light on the object. What happens to the light/energy when it hits the object? As I understand, the light would be absorbed. Since the energy from the light does not correspond with the discreet jumps of the electron energy levels, the object would not reflect the blue light. Intuitively, it doesn't seem reasonable that the object could continually absorb the energy from the photons without increasing the energy levels of the electrons. That would mean that the electron energy levels would eventually fall back down, emitting red photons in the process. So, the result would be shining blue light on an object and seeing that light reflected back as red, which seems very wrong. So what happens when the blue light is shined on the red object? Does it vary with the intensity of the blue light? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
16. Up to approx 15kt of wind. On a 4000mA.h battery I can get around 12 minutes with the camera on board. More without the camera (because it's lighter). That's a 5C discharge rate. What lithium chemistry are your cells? Also, what is the voltage of the battery? It's not a single cell, is it? It's a 3 cell (3S) hobby grade LiPO pack. Interesting. After looking around a bit online, I was surprised to find that many lithium polymer cells are capable of very high constant discharge rates. Apparently 5C is nothing. I regularly use cylindrical lithium cobalt oxide cells, and discharging at rates over 2C is just asking for very bad things to happen. For higher discharge rates, I use lithium iron phosphate or lithium manganese oxide cells. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

19. See post 47 in this thread. A climate model does not spit out data. It spits out predictions. I agree with you. The IPCC disagrees. http://www.ipcc-data.org/ar4/gcm_data.html So do the folks that run realclimate.org, the source for "Climate science from climate scientists." http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/data-sources/ I don't see where they call models' predictions data. They refer to it as model output. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! It would be trivially easy for one of your kids' friends to post a picture of him and your kids eating cake and ice cream at a party for you to see and a picture of everyone enjoying hookers and blow at the same party for everyone else to see. If you are using FB as a way to see what your kids and their friends are up to, realize that you'll see exactly what they want you to see. Unless...you're friends with their stupid friends who have no concern for their own privacy settings, let alone their friends'. In which case, what happens in Vegas may not in fact stay in Vegas. Hmmm … It's easy enough to not allow your posts to be seen by "friends of friends." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

24. Facebook is not America, nor do its users have freedom of speech on the site beyond that which FB grants.
