  1. Write your question in English could you? Sorry, I got distracted in the middle of the post--danger of having a toddler. I had started out to write "should we call you..." and then came back and finished with "are you..." Fair enough. Of the two, I have more in common with Obi Wan (i.e. I'm a male human). The differences outnumber the similarities though. I don't have a light saber (not that I don't think it would be a cool toy), I don't own a hooded cloak, I've never been beyond the atmosphere of Earth, and my understanding of The Force involves mass multiplied by the second derivative of position with respect to time. Edit to add: May the Force be with you. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. [Untouchables]They pull a knife, you pull a gun[/Untouchables] If someone has decided they are going to attempt to commit bodily harm to me, I'll be damned if I'm going to meet them on their own terms. That's all well and good, if one has been trained in the use of firearms sufficiently to use them competently in a high stress situation (
  3. There was enough detail for the state department to recognize him as a natural born citizen. What are you looking for, exactly, the YouTube video of his birth? The ability to argue does not imply the ability to argue competently. Being fair minded does not mean one should buy into ever conspiracy theory one hears about. The conspiracy theory about Obama's citizenship status has been debunked in many ways (e.g. birth certificate has been provided, meets citizenship requirements as defined by US Code Title 8, section 1401, etc.). Reasonable, fair minded people have dismissed the claims of the conspiracy nuts theorists because the available evidence refutes them. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 4. You claimed it right here: "A cutting blade instills fear in you, perhaps. As I was trained, against an attacker with a knife, expect to be cut but avoid being stabbed." That in no way implies that I am "Rambo," "Master Lee," or any other master. Surely your reading comprehension is not lacking to such an extent that you really don't understand that, is it? Many people have had weapons training without being or claiming to be masters. Recognizing that getting cut should be expected in a knife fight is as basic as recognizing that getting punched should be expected in a fist fight. It doesn't take any sort of master to understand that concept, only very minimal exposure to nearly any sort of martial arts or weapons training. That certainly doesn't imply that all people with such training freeze in such a situation. Experienced skydivers have also gone in due to freezing and failing to implement their emergency procedures, but, many, many more have successfully cut away malfunctions and had uneventful reserve deployments and landings. What makes you think a gun would help someone who would freeze up when faced with a knife? People react with the tools they have available, not because of the tools they have available. See above. 7. Looking at the actual US Code: Title 8> Chapter 12> Subchapter III> Part I> §1401: § 1401. Nationals and citizens of United States at birth The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth: (a) a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof; (b) a person born in the United States to a member of an Indian, Eskimo, Aleutian, or other aboriginal tribe: Provided, That the granting of citizenship under this subsection shall not in any manner impair or otherwise affect the right of such person to tribal or other property; (c) a person born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents both of whom are citizens of the United States and one of whom has had a residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions, prior to the birth of such person; (d) a person born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is a citizen of the United States who has been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year prior to the birth of such person, and the other of whom is a national, but not a citizen of the United States; (e) a person born in an outlying possession of the United States of parents one of whom is a citizen of the United States who has been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year at any time prior to the birth of such person; (f) a person of unknown parentage found in the United States while under the age of five years, until shown, prior to his attaining the age of twenty-one years, not to have been born in the United States; (g) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years: Provided, That any periods of honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States, or periods of employment with the United States Government or with an international organization as that term is defined in section 288 of title 22 by such citizen parent, or any periods during which such citizen parent is physically present abroad as the dependent unmarried son or daughter and a member of the household of a person (A) honorably serving with the Armed Forces of the United States, or (B) employed by the United States Government or an international organization as defined in section 288 of title 22, may be included in order to satisfy the physical-presence requirement of this paragraph. This proviso shall be applicable to persons born on or after December 24, 1952, to the same extent as if it had become effective in its present form on that date; and (h) a person born before noon (Eastern Standard Time) May 24, 1934, outside the limits and jurisdiction of the United States of an alien father and a mother who is a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, had resided in the United States. President Obama has provided proof that he falls under category a, having been born in the US state of Hawaii. Even if he had been born overseas, he would still meet the requirements, as defined in category g, since his mother was a US citizen prior to Obama's birth and met the residency requirements. Note that military, government, or international service is not a requirement, but rather an additional way to meet the residency requirement. Of course, the conspiracy theorists could always claim that he wasn't born to the mother that his birth certificate claims to have given birth to him, in which case, he would meet the requirements of citizenship as defined in paragraph f. In other words, no matter how you look at it, president Obama meets the requirement of being a natural born citizen. I'm sure there will remain plenty of nut cases who continue to wear their tin foil hats, nonetheless. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  10. Neither. Nor have I ever claimed to be. I'm pretty much a pacifist whenever I can afford that luxury. I have, however, studied and trained in the use of weapons (in the capacity of both martial arts and military). Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  13. How does it look when cash accounts of the federal government are taken into consideration? They must be considered if the Social Security trust fund is considered, as the revenue that goes into the trust fund are required by law to be invested in government bonds. Math tutoring available. 14. It's hardly dishonest to point out reality. You are aware that Medicaid is a joint sate and federal program, right? It varies by state, but on average, states foot about 43% of the bill. What's dishonest is to disregard state taxes when considering who pays the costs of the program. Try comparing the percentage of income the bottom 50% earners pay in sales tax compared to the percentage of income paid by the top 50% earners. The income tax progression is also significantly skewed by not taxing capital gains as regular income, which benefits the richer half far more than the poorer half of the country. 15. I'm not sure what, exactly, you're talking about with your cryptic post, but I can assure you that I don't "selectively ignore" (or otherwise ignore) the Constitution. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  17. America is a republic, not a democracy. Government power comes COMPLETELY through CITIZENS who democratically elect politicians. Those politicians are SWORN to uphold the Constitution, whose entire purpose is to ensure a minimal federal government footprint in our lives. That has nothing to do with what I wrote about tacit consent, but if ranting makes you happy, so be it. The purpose of the Constitution is not to "ensure a minimal federal government footprint in our lives," however. So, do you agree with the rules of the system, as defined by my country's Constitution? Generally, yes. 100%? No. Nonetheless, my voluntary presence implies my tacit consent to the rules of the system, just as yours does and just as Tom's does. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 18. You're an advocate of population control, also? Not since I was informed that killing all the Republicans would not be politically correct. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  19. Actually, the purpose of the Constitution is "to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity." At least those are the reasons given in the Constitution. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  20. I didn't realize that you were in jail/prison. If you're not imprisoned, then your voluntary presence in the US implies your tacit consent to government authority. Don't like the government? 23. Currently, government supplied healthcare, such as Medicaid, is funded partially by the states. Your federal income tax argument is intellectually dishonest. We're talking about a Federal program here. What's dishonest is that the federal government wants to make the states pay for it. Do you have figures on State income tax payment rates? How many people who are not paying Federal Income Tax are making substantial payments to the states? What percentage of total income tax revenue is collected by the states, as opposed to the federal government? You seem to be obsessing over income tax. Think sales tax. Very, very few people in the US escape taxation. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  24. Bullshit. Most of such programs are state funded in part or in full. If people are paying sales taxes, they're contributing. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
