No need. That functionality exists as part of a standard install of my OS.

When I worked at Skydive Deland, I pointed out to more than one beer line violator that it would be a lot cheaper to buy me a large Guinness than it would be to buy a case of green bottles for everyone else. I drank a lot of free Guinness when I worked there! Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

45,000 americans die every year due to lack of health insurance

No one. It isn't necessary. That would also be a violation of Article 4, which I also support. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

45,000 americans die every year due to lack of health insurance

A good friend of mine, whose opinion I tend to greatly respect, has the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights sitting prominently on her bookshelf. I would argue that Article 25, paragraph 1 of that document implies a right to health care. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. While the UN's General Assembly lacks the legal authority of the UNSC, I believe it still supports the assertion that health care is a right. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! Yes, you did. I think the term option adequately explains how people will not be forced away from their private insurers. OTOH, if those private insurers can't offer competitive prices, then people will have the option of using a public system. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

In some industries, profit is a necessary incentive to drive innovation. What innovations do you envision profits motivating in the insurance industry? I see insurance as risk sharing. I don't see any significant innovations that will change the inherent methods of sharing that risk. The more different risk categories that are created, the further insurance gets from the ideal of pooling and sharing risk to keep costs predictable. In other words, in the insurance industry, I view profit as parasitic. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -

Nice straw man. Taxpayer funded is not free. If private insurance companies can't run as efficiently as public insurance programs, then why should people be forced to use them? OTOH, if public insurance doesn't work as efficiently as private insurance companies, then people will choose the private option. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! I think it would be more accurate to say that more people want a viable public transportation system to have as an option to owning and/or operating a private vehicle. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials! -
If that "guy in a black robe" is delivering the opinion of the SCOTUS, and that opinion gives an interpretation of law, then yes, that makes it true. Feel free to read what Hamilton, Constitutional Convention delegate and primary author of the Federalist Papers, had to say about the topic. The SCOTUS' interpretation is consistent with his. I already mentioned the 1986 Tax Reform Act. You missed that, too? No, I didn't miss it. It just doesn't provide an example of what I asked for. The increases in revenue from the 1986 Tax Reform Act weren't significant. The annual growth in revenue in real dollars doesn't look unusual compared to previous years. It certainly isn't an indication that it was a move toward optimal position on the Laffer curve. No. That's the wrong metric to be using to determine optimal taxation, although it is a metric that must be considered. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

It depends on what the revenue is used for. For example, if tax revenue from cigarettes is used for research for and treatment of smoking related illnesses, smoking prevention/cessation programs, etc. that can be a good thing. If the revenue is instead thrown in the general revenue pot, I'm much less supportive of such taxes. Morality, no. Responsibility, yes. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour!
