Cars are also not protected in the Bill of Rights. Pools are also not protected in the Bill of Rights. And there ARE laws on guns already.... They don't really seem to be working so your solution is to create MORE? Prohibition didn't stop alcohol sales, the war on drugs didn't stop drug flow, Mexico's gun laws has not stopped gun violence, laws against prostitution didn't stop it.... Yet gun laws will somehow work?
-
You do know that putting a law on a person that was not under that law in a State that does not have that law is not an *existing* law, right? It is a NEW law. Just admit that you want new laws.... We all know that is what you want and you just prove yourself to be a liar when you play this game.
-
Total BS on your part. No one has said it is not an issue, we just don't agree with your 'solutions' that remove rights from innocent people. The kid in this story didn't go to one of those 33 other States and buy a gun..... So your own 'solutions' would have done NOTHING to prevent THIS crime.
-
No, people who value their privacy and their Constitutional Rights also have a lot to fear from your views.
-
Ah, so you are more concerned about guns (the object) than actually saving lives.....
-
Yes, making me go to a shrink to be allowed to exercise my RIGHT under the 2nd is making it difficult. Making me file paperwork with the Govt to exercise my RIGHT according to the bill of rights is making it more difficult. Not a hard concept for most people to grasp.... why are you having such a hard time with it? The irony of you crying about the ATF and toy rocket motors, your bitching about no fly zones for Bush (I have not seen you cry much about Obama having the same thing) yet then crying FOR more regulation on other people is the very definition of hypocrisy.

They also pay a high price for us owning a car: CDC By far the most common type of injury accident involving children are those that also involve motor vehicle collisions. According to the National Center for Statistics and Analysis (NCSA), nearly 250,000 children are injured every year in car accidents. They also pay a high price for our right to own a pool... about 300 a year drown.

They said the same thing about the revolutionary war. They said that the Vietnamese would never stood a chance against the US. They said that Iraq would be no problem The Russians and now the US is learning that Afghanistan is not as easy as they thought. There is a LONG history of the public beating a superior force...... First you have to realize that if ordered to kill civilians a good number of troops would not comply.

Yeah, that worked out great for the Jews!

Nonsense from you as normal.... But tell me what you would have done to prevent this? 1. He is not old enough to buy a gun. 2. It is already illegal for him to carry one at school. 3. It is already illegal to shoot someone. So, please, what EXACTLY would you have done to prevent this? Or are you just talking crap about something you have no real answer for?
-
2nd amendment is to keep and BEAR arms. So his comments still fit perfectly. Change it to "You need a good reason to carry that book sir"

Well the link I clicked took me to the pentagon shooter.... If you actually read it.... "The California man who was killed in a shootout with Pentagon police had a history of mental illness and had become so erratic that his parents reached out to local authorities weeks ago with a warning that he was unstable and might have a gun, authorities said Friday.... Family friend Reb Monaco said Kaye Bedell asked the officer to take him to a mental health facility, but that the son refused. The patrolman let Bedell go with a warning. " Huh, find ONE person who has said this guy should have been allowed to own a gun... ONE. 1. Fact is that you just want to make it damn near impossible for lawful owners to own a gun. You want to impose restrictions on them that you would not allow for your toy rocket motors. 2. These restrictions you want are impossible to know since you refuse to simply state what they are. 3. You (presumably) want to use legislation and restrictions that have show not to do anything. IE, Canada and the registration program that cost 160 Million a year and solved ZERO crimes. And Chicago, DC, and Mexico's gun bans... amazingly all have higher than normal gun crimes. You arguments are devoid of logic. Your solutions are so terrible that you will not even man up and state what they are. In addition, your best debate tactic is to insult and misdirect. In conclusion.... You are clearly a person who refuses to look at logic when it comes to guns. Your fear makes you rant without data and spout mythical 'solutions' that you refuse to clarify. When faced with a challenge you are unable to answer with intellect, you resort to distraction and personal attacks. Fear clearly has control over you on this subject.

YOU have failed to back up your numbers proving otherwise, Headoverheels has not shown a number either and you are just tagging onto his pulled out of the thin air claim...... Not difficult good doctor... PROVE YOUR CLAIM that my number is incorrect. Not just BS, PROVE it. Ah, so you admit that you are promoting increased regulations against 99% of the lawful owners of an inanimate object due to the actions of 1% that ILLEGALLY use that object. But you ignore the fact that it is not the object that makes the difference, but the ACTIONS of the person. Typically, you ignore the important things and instead focus on your fear of an object.

read: ELITISTS Many of those in favor of oppressive firearms legislation are are best classed as elitists. Elitists frequently identify with a peer group based on wealth, power, rank, social status, occupation, education, ethnic group, etc. and perceive themselves and their peers as inherently superior to and more responsible than the "common people", thus more deserving of certain rights. Since elitists practically consider those outside their class or caste as members of another species, that most anti-elitist list of laws, the Bill of Rights is viewed by them as anathema. Naturally, the Second Amendment is their first target as it serves as the supporting structure for other nine amendments. AUTHORITARIANS Another type of individual who favors the restriction of private gun ownership is the authoritarian. Authoritarian personalities are characterized by their belief in unquestioning obedience to an authority figure or group and a disdain for individual freedom of action, expression, and judgement. Those with authoritarian personalities function well in symbiosis with elitists occupying positions of power. Because authoritarians repress their desires for autonomy they harbor a deep resentment toward free and independent thinkers. Of course authoritarians do not want firearms in the hands of the general population as this constitutes a major obstacle to fulfilling their pathological and obsessive desire to control people.

You wish to make it difficult for me to exercise my rights.... How difficult is impossible to determine because you refuse to state what you want to implement. You are fine with making it hard for honest citizens to exercise their rights, yet cried about the ATF trying to make it difficult to exercise your desire to play with toy rockets. And before you try to claim that toy rockets are not used, explosives are AND I have shown that 99% of gun owners are not a problem..... Basically you are panicking about a 1% failure rate and trying to create more legislation honest citizens will have to navigate to exercise a right in the US Constitution. How much, no one knows because you will not sack up and just say what you want.
-
Got it, you are unable to back up your crap... Like normal
-
I think you want to take away rights you don't like.... but cry like a little boy when the ATF wants to register toy motors..... 1. It is next to impossible to know what you want, since you always avoid answering. 2. From what you have answered you do want the govt to interfere more and make it harder for innocent till proven guilty people to do things that are protected by the Constitution. 3. You have shown an irrational fear of 1% of problems. Don't blame me for your crippling fear of a 1% chance of an issue and your desire to restrict the rights of people to own an inanimate object.
-
You have shown your inability to have a discussion once again..... You seem to think a failure rate of 1% is a big problem. So, your fear of 1% shows your failure of innumeracy.
-
Then prove it or admit you are wrong (like normal).

First off, I asked if it was a right handed shooter. The reason is simple, most right handed shooters pull the POI to the left and down. This is due to trigger manipulation in 99% of the cases where it is due to shooter error. Secondly, the statement I did make was "The grouping has nothing to do with sights"... the caveat is when the sights are lose. Grouping is a factor of manipulation, barrel tolerances and length, ammunition selection... Etc. Sights have almost nothing to do with grouping since if you have a good steady SAME sight picture and a good weapons manipulation the POI may not be where you aimed, but the grouping should be consistent (allowing for a non worn out barrel, decent ammunition, steady sight picture and manipulation). How can I be so sure? 99% of the time when a guns "sights are off" it is due to ignoring the basics of marksmanship. http://www.pskm.be/Pistol_Shot_Analysis.pdf

And thank you for the idea that an individuals rights are not worth anything unless they happen to be to own toy rocket motors. Fact is that all of your ranting is just noise and hot air. You fail to bring any answers to the problems and just cry about them. At the same time you demand action to strip citizens of their rights, but cried about the ATF getting involved in model rocket motors. You claim that model rockets are not used in crime..... Well explosives sure as hell are. AND so I have repeatedly asked you to provide what PERCENTAGE of gun owners/guns are used illegally.... Still waiting on that BTW. It is people like you that helped the NAZI's, Pol Pot...etc. "It is OK to trample on the rights I personally don't like" - Kallend. Fact is that Canada has admitted it's gun registration plan was a total waste of money... 2.7 BILLION or 160 Million a year.... Know how many crimes were solved using this? ZERO. From 2003-2009 they had 4,257 murders... 1,314 were killed by firearms. In all 1314 murders by firearm.... Less that 10% were actually registered and out of those, on 62 were registered to the person who committed the crime. So it has been a TOTAL failure, yet you want it here. Mexico has some of the MOST strict gun laws.... Yet they have one of the highest rates of gun violence. For a Physics Professor, you seem to be ignorant on statistics. You also seem to allow a personal bias to cloud your judgment. Not exactly the traits that make a good scientist.
-
Aw, how cute. A lame personal attack.
-
Wanting to inconvenience others from the guy that cried about the ATF wanting to control toy rocket motors.... AWESOME. Also, Cho was a failure of REPORTING... You should check your facts. Giffords shooter should of been prevented as well.... Again, a failure of REPORTING. You really have no idea about what you are talking about. But I eagerly await your showing what percentage of gun owners are a problem... You should really know that before you try to legislate the rights from the other 99% (my number, show your own)
-
Oh, this should be good..... Nope, not even close.... Wanna try again?
-
Or slapping the trigger.
