  1. I can't offer advice, just an observation. I watched a guy with about 80 jumps who said he could handle a hurricane 120 (he was at least 80Kg, or 176lb without gear) smash into the ground with a low hook turn. If you have to ask the question, are you really sure he is ready?
  2. Good to meet the competition I was on "Just Wing It" The 3-way was a lot of fun, a good break from the 4-way, much faster. We didn't get to finish the last series due to injury from a freefall collision
  3. So your last 10 AFF jumps were done without a TA and you got within 25 metres of target centre??? Thats impressive.
  4. You will have the rest of your life to worry about it if it does happen.
  5. The nurse was fine to me when I frapped in. They did the usual "Why were you jumping out of a plane at night time", but got good treatment. The nurse even called me later that night to see how I was feeling.

  7. Parachutes Australia can do all the resizing, and its not too expensive. $90 to have some of the webbing shortened on mine. But a 210????? You'd be on 240's atm at Picton. Seriously a 170 will be 0.7 to 0.8 wing loading and a 150 is 0.9 wing loading. Wait until you start your B-Rels before looking at canopy size. You will probably find you will do a lot of B-rels with the same instructor and they will get a feel for how you fly and can recommend a good canopy size.
  8. Come to Canberra! High 30's in summer, barely hit double digits in winter (if you're lucky, sometimes we get a little snow)! What more could you ask for???? Oh and you also have to drive 2 hours to do a jump!
  9. I found this article on a fellow skydiver, Larry Simmons who lost his class ring before joining the Navy only to be reunited with it 15 years later! Source: http://www.sapulpadailyherald.com/homepage/local_story_337104945.html?keyword=leadpicturestory
  10. I got better at rolling as I went on. I also roll a little bit of the tail around the lines on either side before I roll the whole lot up, again hard to explain but keeps everything neat and in place.
  11. Personally I have never done a hybrid, but I am told you want a freeflyer who can track to save their life. When the freeflyer releases they will drop below you, so they need to be able to track well otherwise you may track over the top of them when they are opening.
  12. Do your leg straps up tight! "You can cut away a line over, but you can't cut away a ball under..."
  13. Even though I still have low jump numbers I always look over everyone's gear when we are waiting for a plane. When I had about 50 jumps we were waiting for the plane and I was talking to someone (fairly experience about 300 to 400 jumps) and I noticed they had misrouted their chest strap. I promptly told them and they fixed it with a stunned look on their face.
  14. Ok so they have done a 2 -way sit. Can they do a 3 or a 4 way missionary?
  15. :0:0 Was getting my motorbike licence instead of jumping this w/e
  16. Everyone's body is different, which is why different people find different harnesses more comfortable.
  17. I have a Sabre 170, loaded at a shade over 1:1 and I can get it to dive on front riser turns. The sabre generates a lot of its left at the front of the canopy which makes the front risers harder to pull down. Are your break lines long enough?
  18. Not just the A licence card signed off, you need to have the licence issued by the APF in your hands.
  19. Take a tandem passenger, that should add a bit of weight.
  20. Love accents and foreign accents, particuarly east european.
  21. We should all start bogus gear stores. Then we can write all our jumps off on tax as professional development.
