I recently did my 100th. Maybe I thought something profound would happen with my skydiving abilities. Ya know what? It didn't. I still hose RW exits on a regular basis. I still do an occasional 2 point 2-way (if that much). I still cannot hold a sit for more than a few seconds. But all this is OK. What is the scariest thing you ever saw a student do?

We had a group of ~30 soldiers doing SL jums at our DZ, one of them for some reason didn't release both brakes. The instructor was yelling at him to get that toggle released, while he spiralled into the ground. Luckily it was a Manta 288, so he got up and walked away, but everyone was already in emergency positions, ready to get an ambulance and guide it to the spot. Edit: Oh, and then there was the student on a five second delay opening on his back. The pilot chute hit his boots coming out... Personally I think assisted suicide for terminally ill patients can at times be the lesser evil. Of course you need to build in the appropriate safeguards, but sometimes I think it should be allowed. However, it should be done properly. This story in the Times tells about a 69 year old woman who died by assisted suicide after having presented faked German papers, showing she was terminally ill. The doctor at the clinic apparently didn't even check the diagnosis. That is seriously f*cked up... I sincerely hope you would choose not to shoot a fleeing person in the back simply because you are a decent person, and not because you might get in trouble for it. IMHO that would be murder. Sadly not everyone agrees with you. They will never know how much fun it is to spar with someone from another style. That takes mutual respect and a biiig smile (Although I do think it is funny how long you can keep a moderately experienced Judoka at a distance simply by knowing how to kick.
