    Well, I don't know much about Danish exports to the States but apparently this weblog does. A quick google for "buy Danish campaign" turned up this link. If I make it to the WFFC this year I'll bring some Danish beer.

    I don't have any sources for this in English as yet, but we now have the official and vocal support from the entire EU, UK, USA and NATO. It took a while for the US to revise their statements from Friday but the US ambassador in Denmark is quoted for having renounced earlier American criticism of Denmark made by the State Department in this case. I suppose this is a good place to say thank you... so thanks guys.

    No, the bitching is about the fact that we have sent troops every time the US asked for them (two gulf wars + Afghanistan). Now when our embassy is burned and freedom of speech is threatened, the US administration is silent or worse. Would be nice with at least a declaration of support from the US government.     It means we signed to agree to the spirit, but not the letter. The Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment is not the same as the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War. Just so we agree on that.

    Wrong! 3rd. Geneva convention Part III, sect. I, article 17: The Geneva conventions are US law, like it or not. That set of definitions is your own.     Update: The poor religious people who are protesting being likened with terrorists, are now marching on the French embassy after having torched the Danish, Swedish, Chilean and Norwegian embassies. This is clearly the way to show that Islam is a religion of mercy and peace...     The EU is a massive economic player. No need to resort to anything as blunt as a boycott. Just tax any goods entering the EU from countries that cannot guarantee the safety of EU citizens and embassies.
