  1. If you place a rig on the ground with the "back-pack" part down you will have the two canopies next to each other. One towards the bottom of the container (the main), and one towards the top. Have someone at the DZ point this out to you. The two pack trays open just fine independently of one another. In fact when my rig goes in for a repack I always pull the reserve (while standing on the ground) just to practice the feel of the handle. 2. Ehm... The "captured and tried" options are meaningless. If you "try" someone in a court of law you cannot predict the verdict. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...

  4. You mean "all three sides". Yours, mine and the utterly ridiculous. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  5. I don't argue with people teaching me to jump out of airplanes. He might want to adopt the same attitude. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  6. Sounds like a good place to jump. They wouldn't all be looking at your video if they didn't care. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  7. Not necessarily true. I know of a four-way team where each person had a regular altimeter and a Dytter/Pro-Track. Let's just say that they found themselves under four reserves all of a sudden. 9. This is exactly why I am a bit puzzled by this entire story. There just might be a very good reason he is not in the FBI anymore. In other words you can hardly blame the media for trying to put a second team of translators on this. My take on this: If Bill Tierney was right I would suspect every government agency to stampede towards his home to sign him on and get the story out. As it stands he is left with presenting his "evidence" at non-governmental meeting. In other words. The pros won't listen to him, so he takes it to the amateurs. There is nothing wrong with being an amateur. However, his take on all this is exactly what would make the present administration look good. Why aren't they all over this? 10. I was thinking about that exact series. Great humour.
  11. That would probably breed an even more powerful class of civil servants. Administrative professionals to help out the poor elected amateurs. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  12. Welcome to the wonderful world of skydiving. We've all been there... many times.
  13. I understand the risks and wouldn't want to be the passenger. Edit: However, I can't spel HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  14. I agree; but I think even if you plan that EP situation in your head, etc. (which I do) there's still a good chance that muscle memory will kick in and make you go for your main first. I know, but all I can do is prepare. HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
  15. Yes, I'd like to hear that too. I am not sure my Spectre would be the correct choice zooming past 2k. Actually I was taught to go for the reserve in this case. Not because the canopy would not have time to open but because a malfunction at 1k would be really problematic. 16. Well, we don't call them Danish pastries in Denmark anyway. We also don't call them the flower of whatever .
  17. Am I the only one who thinks that you should have a feel for your fall rate? I keep track of my altitude to help adjust my inner clock enough so that I don't have to look at the altimeter when break-off comes. 20. Huh? I am a noob, but one thing I have had instructors trying to beat into my fat skull is that when exiting in a sit, you try to exit sitting with respect to the relative wind. Otherwise you are just back flying. On the other hand, when you pull of an RW formation you try to have your chest presented to the wind. It takes a while to actually "go flat". In other words I find what your DZO is saying to be rather counter intuitive. 23. Dude, we agree. We are just talking about two different things. I was merely saying that if the Skyhook really was identical to that-other-system, noone would be able to patent it. Not Eric Fradet (too late) and not Bill Booth (prior art). Luckily this is an irrelevant discussion.
  24. Hmm... I have a Cypres 1. The x-ray card I got from Airtec is the old red 'n' white one. It looks nothing like the new one for the Cypres 2. Does anyone know if I should expect more problems with the old card? HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde...
