Nah, you shoulda been there magot, it was quite the event. We had plenty of coke, hookers, guns, and there were a couple midgets there too. We packed at the bottom and finally left at sunset. So now it's an 'Official Site' "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Thanks Avery, it was a great time and a very nice object. You were right about my trip back by the way, it was a little stressfull. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

I am full-time in University and do SD and base, and not on Facebook (it's gay)... 'it's all about how much other stuff you can cutaway' "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

No. My personal style is inclusive rather than exclusive; it's all canopy flying to me, I don't care about being snobby over PG, SD, and BASE, but I've never been very political in the first place. Not that there's anything wrong with exluding people, if that's your thing. I see canopy sports snobbery as a macrocosm of SD interdisciplinary snobbery, 'not that there's anything wrong with it tho' ;) "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Hasn't that photo been on the website for a few weeks already? And I can't help but ask will the finished P-Prototype be distinguishable from an Acro? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Yea, I've had those, next thing I did was check the wind report and alter my flightplan accordingly. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957 -
I feel it's a bad habit, especially to reach that far where you could potentially interfere with the opening or compromise your body position if you needed your arms for stability. NOTICE: I'll be visiting the Sacramento/Stockton area next weekend for some jumps, any sociable jumpers please PM to coordinate. Thanks "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

From my first hand observations with both suits, as well as James telling me so, both suits achieve close to the same fallrate, with obviously better glide in the faster suit. Out of curiosity more than practicality... How many times are you comfortable changing pack configurations and reclosing before a complete fresh pack is required? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Too soon?? I'm sure there will always be someone to say it's too soon to identify our missteps and correct them, but I disagree. And I don't buy the whole mourning bit either. Bill, Sorry you had to (or Outback had to at least) put up with the childish self-centered behavior of the jumpers polluting your good town. Some people just never grow up and never get it. Hopefully the few bad apples don't spoil the reputation of the bunch, but that's being very optimistic. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Everybody knows the two sports are the furthest dissimilar there is. One has "diving" in it's name while the other is "jumping"; it's like apples and elephants. That's why if you enroll in an FJC they will never ask or care about any SD experience, since it's soo irrelevant. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. yea, what kirk said, Good starting point: http://phoenix-fly.com/articles%20stvari/performance_flying_1.pdf The rest is further tinkering and usually pilot & suit combo specific. My suits so far have not come with a device driver or plug-n-play compatibility, so I've had to tediously write out my own drivers and config files each time I get a new suit. Your results may vary. Yeah, with the M1 if you find yourself too far out from the LZ instead of pitching early you fly the suit cause it glides twice as well as any canopy. Must be in the paraglider range....not bad. Ray, my theory is that it's the time of year when things slow down, so everybody has nothing better to do than make a mountain of a molehill and drag out silly dead-end topics on the internet. ?? Yes, toggles are better at conserving altitude and better for turn rate. I would suggest Magot in the New England area. He's highly experienced, highly acclaimed, and on top of all that, he's a ninja. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

I don't see it. The only ones affected are his family(generally speaking of anyone, not Dave specifically), and that is on him. Other than that it is 1 less car on the road, 1 less worker in an office building; the world is no worse off, and even if the world or society was worse off, what right do they have to make a claim on that one person's life such that it limits that person's freedom? To make such a claim is selfish, greedy and does infringe on the freedom of others, which insidiously errodes their quality of life, little by little. Kinda like socialism of freedom and liberty. Just my 2 cents, "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Agreed. It's the best way in the long run, natural selection is highly underrated. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

I saw an ad for the Troll's new penta-MDV and was curious what the performance (heading and altitude) difference is compared to the 4 valve, but that is a bit beyond the scope of this topic. Have you already tried small mesh slider and direct control? "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. " -John Galt from Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Only Kapowsin has an Otter and even there it's rare to have 10-20 people on the same jump. 8 ways and smaller are more common. April to November is the season, depending on how well you deal with the cold, of course, I jump 10 months a year. "The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. What about risk-wise, as perhaps you could provide us an informed comparative view of both? Do you think you have more fun with less risk in paragliding? One of the reasons I switched from motocross to skydiving was to reduce risk, and now I'm not sure I have an overall decrease in risk level after throwing BASE into the mix.
