The following dialog taken from the video transctipt is absolutely damning considering the location given was confused and from a different pilot as the Pentagon's new ground attack training specialist stepped over his wingman's communication with forward control. It also illustrates how utterly incapable you are of assessing any wrongdoing. I'll stick with the investigating General's opinion, clearly he outranks you in this matter, he did recognize wrongdoing. POPOV36 saw orange panels and said so, he later attacked, he should not have done that, this much is absolutely clear. Brits have not yet gotten over this for a few simple reasons. 1) Americans in the Pentagon witheld information and it is only now surfacing 4 years later, not thanks to American honesty with a longstanding ally, but thanks to a tabloid newspaper that runs soft porn alongside sensational articles. At least Brits now know who is the more trustworthy source. 2) Absolutely nothing was done about this and the goofball who pulled the trigger has been PROMOTED instead of being disciplined as per the recommendations of the investigating general. 3) Americans in the Pentagon have been lying consistently about the findings of their own inquiry and misleading everyone in an attempted cover-up. 3 is hot off the press, so this isn't going away soon. Get a clue. What use is the UCMJ if it manufactures a bunch of lying rats in the Pentagon?

P.S. Now THAT'S tasteless.

That was pretty fucking tasteless shit to post, Dorbie. How about this: Good fucking shooting by American pilots. The guncam video showed no evidence of trigger-happy attitudes. Get the hell over it! There is nothing tasteless in what I posted and nothing that isn't on the front page of every newspaper in the UK. Perhaps you had the audio turned down when you watched the video, there was clear evidence the A10s saw and recognized friendly markings at the start. Perhaps this would have gone away and we'd all have gotten over it 4 years ago if the phoneys running the show over at the Pentagon hadn't covered this up and promoted the pilot who did it, in defiance of the investigating General who recommended disciplinary procedures.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007060633,00.html The cover-up has been uncovered, from the article: So it looks like internally at the highest levels the Pentagon agreed with the UK inquiry's conclusions, but did nothing. Unless you count the promotion.

L/Cpl Hull's widow, Susan, 30, from Wiltshire, said: "I always knew there was a cover-up and this proves it. All I wanted was the truth about what happened to Matty. I've waited four long years to see this footage. Finally here I am seeing my husband die at the hands of two imbeciles."
-
See the attached images from from UK newspapers showing the pilot and what he did. No courts marshal for the pilots in fact "skeeter" got promoted to Colonel, and get this; from The Times: "Colonel Gus “Skeeter” Kohntopp, who was a lieutenant-colonel at the time, now trains other American pilots in ground-attack skills." Who better! You know guys, the "Peter Principal" is a fucking ironic observation, it's not something you're supposed to strive to implement. I hope he starts his class with that guncam footage and doesn't pretend he followed procedures like the DoD whitewash.

Branson Offers $25M Prize to Fight 'Global Warming'
dorbie replied to unformed's topic in Speakers Corner
It's the fig leaf that covers his massive consumption of fuel in his space for tourists venture. How else do you head off scathing criticism of the largest carbon footprint on the planet? -
Same can be said of you, Kallend. STUNNING! I may print and frame this. Maybe I'll bump the thread every now and then to embarrass you if you ever actually learn something about Physics.

The key word here is exerted. How do you calculate the gravitational force exerted on a mass? You multiply it by the thing you don't know what to call and I won't tell you. But it's none of the things you have said it is so far, and it certainly isn't force, Gravitational force is the product. Here's one for you, the gravitational force exerted on the Earth by you is the same as the gravitational force exerted on you by the Earth [edit to add obviously along opposite directions] (the Earth is massive and you don't see it moved by small forces), but the vector quantity you don't know what to call is very different in each direction if you choose to do the calculation. It can be done, the only reason I state this is to emphasize just how badly wrong you are about what gravitational force is. You really are hopeless at this, you should stop. You keep claiming flagrantly wrong stuff and arguing over it.

Bill, I'm calling you a liar when you claim to know the identiy of the AntiChrist. You're a charlatan in the grand tradition of Nostradamus, Jim Jones, and innumerable other phonies. Unless you're willing to divulge this alleged identity (aren't you supposed to spread the gospel?) I'm calling you a liar. That's a bit extreme. I have no doubt chuteless is sincere, I have also deduced who he thinks is the AC from a couple of his posts. I'm not sure I should divulge it here though. Intrigue to disapointment in one simple deduction, I almost wish I hadn't figured it out. Trust me, it's more fun not knowing.

Most ironic post ever. This from the man who didn't know what G was a few posts ago (yes it's just G).

You are killing me, stop please. Force uses units of Newtons guess again. Wikipedia has a nice explanation here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_law_of_universal_gravitation

The graph is from a paper I liked to just before that in this thread. The perception listed is of course self perception, as detailed in that paper.

Please post where you confirmed these findings. You are in the military - how come you are unaware of stuff like this. Sleep through your training? Look who is ducking another question. Your response borders on the offensive because it reflects an ignorance of the biggest military disaster of the first Gulf War inflicted by another pair of American A10 pilots on British troops (heck it could be the same pair of pilots, we have no way of knowing). The question can't be evaded, it is seared into the British consciousness, even if it doesn't register on the American conscience. I just wonder what you're doing posting noise to a thread about a subject you're so ill-equipped to discuss.
-
Please post where you confirmed these findings. You are aware that the most deadly attack in that war was by two A10s rocketing two British Warriors killing 9 and wounding 11 right? You don't do that and not make the shortlist of causes, it would be surprising if the percentage were any less. Here's some information a little closer to home. My earlier figure was on the low side, the U.S. on U.S. fratricide percentage was higher in that same conflict. http://nucnews.net/2000/du/91du/910814wp.htm

The following document is worth a read: http://www.codeyield.com/funstuff/psp7761121.pdf The summary is of particular relevance to your current predicament. "We propose that those with limited knowledge in a domain suffer a dual burden: Not only do they reach mistaken conclusions and make regrettable errors, but their incompetence robs them of the ability to realize it."

Irony aside, that's the DoS protocol standard. Excellent.

The point was not true, pound IS a unit of mass, AND wiki mentions the vernacular use all over the place, so the revisionism is particularly lame.
-
From the same page on Mass: "(This force is called the weight of the object. In informal usage, the word "weight" is often used synonymously(confused with) with "mass", because the strength of the gravitational field is roughly constant everywhere on the surface of the Earth. In physics, the two terms are distinct: an object will have a larger weight if it is placed in a stronger gravitational field, but its passive gravitational mass remains unchanged.)" Also from the page on Mass: "a unit like the pound is often used to measure either mass or force (e.g. weight)." The OP said pounds were not units of mass, (along with a few other units of mass). An uninformed reader using wiki would have learned something, as the OP should have instead assuming the wiki entry was wrong.
-
Ordinarily I'd agree but in this case it would be a bad move. The wikipedia entry is absolutely correct and the OP should go read the wikipedia entry for weight. He might find it quite satisfying: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weight Don't waste everyone's time by vandalizing the correct page on mass.

The most regrettable part of that whole video is the bullshit commentary from both of them. I think that's what pushes it over the top for skydivers the first time they see it because we know it's all horseshit and can see what's actually going on.

For me it was ACL knee surgery post-op. I'd had a broken tib-fib before and when that happened it was manageable. Setting it for the temporary cast was very painful, but post-op wasn't excruciating, and nothing prepared me for my ACL post-op. I came out of ACL surgery thinking it wasn't so bad, but the sneaky buggers put some anesthetic directly into my joint. It started to wear off before I got the pain med prescription, and oh boy was it bad. I was sick from the pain and completely incapacitated even after I got the painkillers. The scary thing was the doc said it would have been twice as bad if he'd had to do any more serious meniscus work. Fortunately is subsided in a day or two, but about the only thing I could focus on was when it was going to stop. I was lying on the floor drinking out of water bottles and pissing into the empty bottles (it was real glamorous) because I couldn't move significantly without making something I would have thought intollerable even worse. I'm glad I got it done though.

I had a friend in third grade whose grandfather had been a missionary with some cannibal tribes in Borneo or someplace like that. Apparently people taste like pork. These days, Americans probably taste like bacon Wendy W. MMMMMMMMMMMM.........Bacon! On one of the South Park DVDs Trey & Matt (?) were feeding fried bacon to a pig during the intros..... there's a long-pig Simpsons episode somewhere in this material, to pervert a great Krusty quote, "Think bigger with fewer legs" (I know it'll never happen).

"not mass" is six letters speaking of the "much less frequent" use.
