  1. I think the was referring to the other one. Make sure you play through it again once you resurface, you become a different creature. There's a Playstation 3 version of it being made (correction, it's done, you can buy it for less than $8 on their network). Here's a trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4xo6qyXbzc Spore may also interest you when it's done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPhV2gtSfqE
  2. Now lets see him try to Land it. Then I will be impressed. Then be impressed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeEp7kxNI9w
  3. I'd now go so far as to question whether the Tour should be allowed to use French labs to do the testing! Heck they should probably hold the whole event in another country.
  4. Idiots in the U.K. MoD fund remote viewing tests. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/worldnews.html?in_article_id=438062&in_page_id=1811 The UFOlogist at the end thinks it's a great idea. I guess that makes it all OK.
  5. WTF? That's way too much trouble, fat free milk in Kellogg's raisin bran, yummy, it's got TWO SCOOPS!!! P.S. real banana slices on top optional.
  6. I'm still in, my diet has improved considerably. Still early days though, 2.25 months to go.
  7. I'll agree to disagree, I'm not going to have an inane argument over an inane argument.
  8. This is the way police officers are trained in the US. They are shown every nasty video of traffic stops gone bad (cops being overpowered and bundled into trunks never to be seen again) and are trained to treat every potentially threatening situation as if the worst might happen at any moment and to guard against it. They are not fearful, they are trained to mitigate the risk based on past experience. Whether you think these tactics go too far is a personal judgement. Police in the UK get attacked with weapons and even firearms occasionally, but when you are stopped for a traffic offense there the cop doesn't shine a spotlight on you and edge up your vehicle with his hand on a loaded firearm. Different training, tactics and attitude. I don't think cops in the US expect you to be 100% submissive on every encounter, the whole thread has been hosed by an inane argument over the silly suggestion that you should act like you're being arrested whenever you encounter a cop.
  9. Nobody else? I think most SC readers will enjoy most episodes of this show.
  10. Shouldn't you be using the correct Mexican/Spanish spelling?
  11. I really have to wonder why he did this. Why didn't he take care of this at the time? I saw a show about this on A&E. He and his son and brother got arrested, posted bail, came back to the U.S., and pretended like nothing happened. The one guy even said it always was on the back of his mind. The other thought the statute of limitations ran out. What the hell? What would make think they could jump bail and Mexico would just forget about it? They're heroes for capturing the rapist but that was just stupid. 4 years in jail is why he did it. He obviiously thought he might not be returned to Mexico. Dog may soon be able to add one Mexican kidnapping felony to his 18 robbery and one accessory to murder convictions in the USA.
  12. It beats begging for cash which is what most of the TV ministries do with almost all of their air time.
  13. Andrew's duty was particularly hazardous. The helicopters were used as decoys to attract Exocet missiles away from the ships. I'm not buying that, but they did get regular British Sea Wolf locks on the Sea Kings when they were mistaken for enemy threats though. Andrew was cool, flying helos over there and banging Koo Stark over here. Those were the days. No, I believe he's right. Lynxs with ECM pods attempted to 'mimick' surface vessels radar signatures to try and draw Exocets away from the real ships. OK, I thought he was anti-sub on Sea Kings. I guess more emerged in the course of time.
  14. Done them all, you get the hang of it eventually. There's a save point half way through the last one (the blue ring). The key controls are inherently limited. It might be better if they went with a control system more like this: http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/

  17. More troubling stills from the same movie.
  18. Beyond 1984, Beyond 2001, Beyond Love, Beyond Death....... diapers!
  19. Does anyone else here watch this show? I've been getting it on Netflix and it's one of my favorite shows.
  20. Richard Dawkins answers what is effectively the same question quite well here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mmskXXetcg It's worth watching.
  21. False dichotomy: there is a WORLD of other options between pointing a gun at a cop and putting your hands up when a cop approaches. You've ignored the question look again. I did not present a false dichotomy, when an officer is presented with an armed homeowner pointing a gun at him he's faced with a very real choice. Stop evading the central issue. Is the officer under these circumstances justified in shooting? How is this RELEVANT to whether or not a homowner should come out with his hands up if a cop comes to his house, which is what I have been disputing. I have not taken any stand on what the cop should do, other than refrain from shooting folks armed only with their wallets, like Mr. Diallo. It's a lot more relevant to this thread than the prevalence of donut shops on GPS units. The homeowner had better choices and the suggestion that he should have to come out with his hands in the air is idiotic. The poster has already retracted in an exchange with billvon. Now quit evading the question. Why do you find a simple question about the actions of this cop so vexing? Do you think it is appropriate for a police officer to defend himself with deadly force when a homeowner points a gun at him?

  23. How is that treating cops like the enemy? See cop coming, put my hands up. Seems like the appropriate response to the Gestapo. That is all. Despite the rhetoric, it is not OK to point a gun at a cop for approaching your property. The officer will have to use deadly force to defend himself against the potential of being shot. Your posts are amusing, "no donut shops on GPS" and "loaded wallets", ho ho ho. But if you're suggesting that an officer cannot respond with deadly force when some misguided guy points a firearm at him, you're wrong, plain & simple. Of course you've studiously avoided saying that, preferring to troll with posts about donut shops and wallets while avoiding the core point. Why don't you let us all know whether you think it's OK for an officer to respond with deadly force when a home owner points a firearm at him.
