When you hear "We need to do this quickly"......
jgoose71 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
As I have stated before, the reason socialism works in New Zealand, is the same reason it works in Canada- Canada has the US to help provide security and New Zealand has Australia. It's very convenient. Does New Zealand Even have an Air force? What a huge savings. Here in the US, where all the worlds economies combine, we have to ensure our security for the sake of the worlds markets. Our capitalist markets have been a great engine for other markets to grow in. China, India, Taiwan, nothing is actually make in america anymore. What would happened to the New Zealand economy when the US went belly up? Also, from your original post I got the impression that you agree with signing things before they are read. I am sending you some documents, don't bother to read, just sign. I promise it is for the greater good "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Whether you like it or not, the world has gone to short sound bites so they can cherry pick conversations to distort the truth. Most people now a days are ADHD and can't pay attention to more than 30 seconds of sound bite. Anything worth knowing now a days requires a little research. I don't claim to be democrat or republican, but I do claim conservative because both parties lie and all the truths I found are in the conservative realm. Once again, you are off. I am conservative and I want to kick all the illegals out. Americans won't take the jobs because they don't pay enough to support their families, but when they have to hire americans, I'm thinking the wages will go up or the farmers will have to pick the crops them selves. Will there be pain when the cost of produce goes up? Yes, but all the pain could have been avoided if the country hadn't hired all the illegals at $2 an hour. The markets will have to adjust, just like they are adjusting right now for the housing crisis. Your missing a very important point. An "R" may have been in the executive branch, but who was in charge of congress? During the Clinton years with a Republican congress, life was good. The last couple of years of the Bush administration with a Democratic congress sucked. The Democratic congress has not missed a chance to hang their mistakes on Bush. Fact no matter what Polosi says. Barney Frank sponsored the housing bills that allowed the banks to give loans to people who don't qualify. There were a lot of factors during the GD that kept it going like the Great Dust Bowl and some people even say that the creation of all the social programs is what prolonged it for 10 years. Everyone agrees that WWII is what got us out. Industry. When america started to produce, we came out. Yes, Clinton raised taxes, but also under the Republican congress, government shrank. With a smaller government controlling the people, they started to work and things were good again. Since you brought it up, are you still going to be blaming the "R" party 10 years from now like the Great Depression? How long do you get before the problem is yours? My point comes from the fact that our country has one of the hugest trade deficits of all time. Our nation has became a nation of consumers and we don't produce anything any more. To fix the economy we have to have an even give and take. I can't buy anything unless I earn something. Same with the US. As a whole, we have something to offer before we buy any more. The answer is industry. Government does not produce anything. All the government can do is print more money and redistribute. That is not going to even us out as a country. Taxes on the rich are already above %50. If you take it all, there is no way they can invest in new industries. I don't agree with it, but this is the main reason why the car companies got the bail outs. They are the largest industry and the producers of something left in the county. They needed to fail and be restructured to be stronger and more efficient. The corrupt labor unions are still making the industry weak, and that is dangerous for America. So, you want me to answer why liberal colleges are bumping up rates on tuition collected on rich Republican Business men and entitled Democratic lawyers and politician trust fund babies? I don't know, because they can? I think it's crap my self, but remember, most colleges are liberal, and most liberals like Al Gore, want to redistribute YOUR wealth, not theirs. See also Charles Rangle. I'm sure you will find fault in all of this, but it's really not the fault of any one party. The Republicans, in an effort to make a quick buck have shipped a lot of jobs over seas and the Democrats in an effort to "Keep America Green" are not letting them come back. We as a nation are stuck with a weak economy until we start producing something again. As I stated earlier, the government doesn't produce anything. A large government is just a big money sucking bureaucracy. It's the opposite of what we are trying to accomplish. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Hm. Logically, that means that moderates want to give out hand jobs. No they don't. The reason we use one liners is because that seems to be anyone understands anymore. More than one line and people use interest. There has been a general dumbing down of the public. One Liners that some it up: Liberals- Want to give hand outs conservatives- Want to give jobs The fundamental flaw with liberal line of thinking is you can't give a hand out to everybody. Somebody has to have a job so you can tax them. The way you create jobs is to lower taxes on the small business guys so they can create them. The Autistic liberals can't see past their "liberal guilt". They want to give away the farm because they think it will ease the guilt they feel because they live in America with mechanisms set up to allow them to provide for them selves and their families. More one liners: Give a man a fish feed him for a day- Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. You are obviously a wealthy numberist! We need to increase taxes on you to spread your numbers out to people like me who haven't gotten to jump as much as we've wanted to. Does taxing you for 56% of your jumps sound about right? Share the wealth!!! "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. They have already been investigated by the previous administration and only one agent was found to have crossed the line and punished. These new investigations are crap. It's called a "Grandfather clause". It is unconstitutional to change the law and go back and prosecute someone for something that was legal when he did it. Also, the 8th amendment talks about Cruel and unusual punishment, but that bar keeps on moving. When the constitution was originally passed, we were still burning witches at the stake, putting people in stockades in the middle of town, flogging, and making adulterers wear a scarlet "A". Times Change. It has already been said that Agents working in the field doing the most dangerous jobs need to believe that when they are following orders, there is some permanence to those orders. Anything less is tying their hands and not allowing them to do their jobs. We don't need them second guessing them selves. If you want weak Homeland Security, we are on the right path. I laughed so hard I cried, and then I laughed some more. So does anyone remember if Mickey Mouse was registered as a Democrat or Republican? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. White Philly officer told to get rid of cornrows
jgoose71 replied to jgoose71's topic in Speakers Corner
I have to agree, he looks like a complete dipstick. But, unless he is violating some department regulation it's legal. And if they are going to hit him with the "Hat doesn't fit right" bit, they got to hit all the black police officers. Where is the ACLU? I should have turned this into a Poll- Why is no one helping this guy out? A. He looks shit-tastic. B. He's a cop. C. He's a military Veteran. D. He's white. E. All of the above. Since black people can't be racist, does this count as reverse racism? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32965416/ns/us_news-weird_news/?GT1=43001 I wonder if Obama will stick up for this guy. Bill O'Reilly supports public option for healthcare
jgoose71 replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
What a joke. You would have to watch the whole interview. Bill O, like me, doesn't care where the health insurance comes from as long as it is a quality program that doesn't destroy the American heath care system. What you missed before hand was him talking about public and private sectors competing on an even ground using competition to hold prices in check. If anyone has any Ideas on how this can be done, run for congress. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Why are conservatives so frequently accused of racism
jgoose71 replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
i find this comment racist... you must be a conservative I'm left with the feeling that for some people a comment like "I'm going to the grocery store" would be considered racist. The only thing that would make it not racist is if I told my black friend I would pick him up a 40 The more I think about it the more true my above statement becomes on so many different levels. A bit excessive, nothing. It was wrong. That you are not straight up condemning this is a testimate to how much leeway liberals give because of their "liberal guilt" and how much they hate themselves for being american. You might as well walk around with a sign that says "If you are going to shoot someone, shoot an American. We deserve it." "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Americans Buy Over One Million Guns In August
jgoose71 replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you suggesting that he "take control of congress"? If you are then I think you should take a look at this thing called seperation of power, checks and balances, the legislative, judicial, and executive branches... If a something has his name on it, he should at least stand up and tell congress what he wants in it. And he definitely needs to spend some time at home and reign in his cabinet, Chief of Staff, and Czars. I got a feeling really soon we will see Janeane Garofalo as the "Gun Czar" "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. Americans Buy Over One Million Guns In August
jgoose71 replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
I wouldn't call it a bullshit tangent, and to me it's got everything to do with gun control. Obama has made all kinds of wonderful speeches and promises to the american people, including the "I won't ban guns" rhetoric, provided you don't include the "clinging to guns and religion" crap. However, what the rest of his staff and congress are doing is a whole different story. A good example is Rahm Emanual starting CIA investigations while Obama was on vacation. I feel the president made his position on the matter clear. Do I think the the president deserves a vacation? Yes. Am I comparing vacation time to past presidents? I could care less. Am I looking at what the mice are doing while the cats away? You bet your ass. Despite what the president has said, do I think that gun control is out of the question? Fuck no. After the health care debacle is done and over with, I could very easily see Obama taking another vacation and his staff passing anti-gun legislation. Obama comes back, signs it, then shrugs his shoulders and says "Ohhh that Rahm.....I didn't do it" So ya, I think it's kind of relevant. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. You are right, Obama isn't taking away our guns, or doing anything for that matter other than go around making speeches and taking vacations. He is jst letting Nancy Polosi, Harry Ried, and his White house full of Radical Czars have thier way with America You're attacking Obama on vacation days taken? Really? I'm curious if you're even vaguely aware of the previous administrations vacation record. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=George_W._Bush:_The_War_President_is_Missing_in_Action I really think people are grasping at straws if they're bitching about Obama's vacations at this point. So... Just out of curiosity... Why is that the part of my statement you are focusing in on rather than the rest of it? My point is what is coming out of Obama's mouth and what congress and his staff is doing behind him isn't matching up. When is he going to take control and be a president? I'm seeing lots of change, but none that I can believe in. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." I haven't bought a gun this year, but that is only because I don't have the money right now. I have been eyeing a beautiful Para-Ordnance hi-Cap .45 before congress outlaws hand guns. if I can't get it soon, I guess I will have to buy it in a back alley somewhere "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. I suggest you look up the word "imperialism". I'm not arguing what got us over there, but we are not trying to stay to gain more US territory. The US, unlike other countries, has never tried to "claim land". We have been searching for a way out without screwing up the country more than it already is. And I remember also. I remember that there are still people out there that wish to do us great harm at any cost, and that freedom isn't free. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. And with so much evil out there we still have people asking "Why can't we all just get along?" The short answer, "Some people just don't want to." But some are still convinced that we can if we just give out enough flowers and hugs. But... it does works on me (me fishing for a hug). Anybody else need one? So.... because I own a gun I'm now a racist? You've been spending to much time abroad mate. The governments job is to protect us, not provide for us. To that extent some government programs are necessary (like police, military, NASA). You will never convince me that they should be selling me a car though. Free markets are what made america great and why all other countries that are now in a first world status or are having strong growth are invested in our markets. New Zealand doesn't even have an Airforce!!! Just like Canada, do you think the Kiwi's could enjoy their freedoms AND social programs if they had to pay for their own security? Come on now, you all need to have a little more love in your heart. I've have a few Muslim Friends in the middle east that say 3 wives is the perfect number. 1 wife demands all your attention. 2 wives are always in compitition with each other. 3 wives is just right. 4 and more and the costs and the honey do lists start to get out of control. Holy freeking crap I haven't heard such a load of Bull Shit in a long time!!! Having been to Afghanistan and Iraq, I can tell you they don't have a health care system. The "US Paid for Health Care" in both counties is a bunch of military field Medics that can from time to time make it to various villages to pass out Motrin and Pepto-bismal. If this is the direction this country really wants to take health care, we are all fucked. Well, we destroyed Iraq's health care infrastructure during the war, so what exactly do you expect? If we'd had the sh1t bombed out of us I doubt our health care would be in very good shape. But the FACT remains that what we left them is universal coverage - paid for by US. Nice try at muddying the issue, though. Saying the US is providing healthcare is like saying Doctors without borders is providing Universal Health care to Africa. It's not a Health Care program it's an outreach program. If you don't know the difference, I guess we need to put more money into the US Education system. Nice try at the liberal spin though.
