  1. Interesting, but that is the IDF. I'm sure that there tour of duty needs differ from U.S. needs, which differ from Mexican Army needs, which differ from the needs of the Swiss military. Do you have any data from when they banned the U.S. troops from bringing home weapons? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 2. While suicide among service members is a problem (depending on the source you use it's 1 per 18 hours up to 22 a day) I don't think access to guns have anything to do with it. Service members are all ready banned from having guns on base and the suicide rate has gone up in recent years. More guns does not equal more suicides. My guns have never tried to talk me into killing my self. However, being trained in the use of a fire arm and having one on you can give you a fighting chance in a time of need. Now if you were to suggest limiting firearms to people who were still active duty or separated with honorable discharge, then you might convince people that you know what you are talking about. Some reading for you. http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/benefits/health-care/2015/04/01/suicide-troops-veterans-combat-study-says-no-link-between-combat-deployment-suicides/70771276/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 4. I don't know, does proxy wars count? If they do then every country in the region. Sounds like you want to move to the "morally superior" country of Iran. 5. I don't compare the two. Once is suicide, one is murder. They are different with different causes along with different methods of prevention. You don't use the same methods to prevent people from dying in a car accident as you would to keep people from dying from falling off a ladder. I know the liberal progressives like to combine the statistics for their anti-gun agenda, but in doing so, they are ignoring the true causes of these things and are not solving the problem. Aspirin might make your headache go away, but it won't get rid of the cancer causing the headache. It's chasing symptoms vs finding a cure. Glad to see your owning your previous statement though.... 6. From your own posts Dan: They are trying to attract people to join the Marines. You know who the Marines are and what they do right? So what would you suggest? Daisies and Tulips? I don't know about you, but the people I've met in the marines generally find an M-16 "welcoming." I bolded your last sentence for you. You said it, now own up to it and quit trying to verbal judo your way out of the full nelson you put yourself in. And you are right, no spin required. 7. My point was that the "Gun Free Zone" was not in place because the Marines are anti-gun lefty nutjobs, which is the common place people are getting ready to go when they bring up the gun free zone thing. Most likely, the Marines decided that having recruiters armed would not lead to the welcoming atmosphere they are trying to promote at a recruiting station. On most military bases, soldiers/sailors/airmen/Marines are not allowed to have privately owned weapons in their residences. The DoD has decided that the risk of suicide/accident/fratricide is higher than the risk of the base being attacked. So far, they are right. So your going with the "People who want to join the Marines are afraid of guns" and the "Our military men and women are more dangerous than terrorists" arguments? Riiiiiiggghhhhtt...... Have fun with that. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  8. I still have to disagree. With a 24 day built in delay to visit existing sites and an unlimited amount of red tape to get into any new site, to include military bases, well, be prepared for a new nuclear arms race in the middle east. And Iran's supreme leader has just announced that he will continue to support terrorism through out the middle east. He now has access to an additional $100 billion to further that effort. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/iran-leader-vows-opposition-to-us-despite-nuclear-deal/ar-AAd9SIY "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 10. Ah, you're one of those people that believe Iraq had an active WMD program, even though no concrete evidence of it was ever found. Well then of course you believe that Iran will develop nukes while being monitored. In fact, they'll probably do it in a complete invisible building, just like Saddam did. I get it now. As an EOD technician who served in Iraq, I do have an opinion based on 1st hand information, but it doesn't change the fact that you are deflecting... The point was Iran will cheat. I give that a 100% chance. Intelligence getting it's reports right, 50% chance. And no matter if the reports are right or wrong, the odds of our government doing the right thing in this toxic highly partisan environment, 0% chance. Exhibit B: Red line in Syria, Exhibit C: ISIS JV Squad, Exhibit D: Afghanistan draw down, Exhibit E: Arab Spring, Exhibit F: Benghazi, Exhibit G: Pull out of Iraq.... I could go on and on. End result of this deal is we are lifting sanctions and in the end there will be no consequences to cheating with this administration. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 11. Do you think the United States Marines are gun-o-phobes? Sarcasm dude. As stated one was a war hero. I think if they had am M-4 instead of a sign, the results would have been different. 12. This is where you are 100% wrong my friend. Not 50%, 75% or even 99.999995%, but absolutely 100% wrong. Exhibit A: U.S. monitoring of WMD's in Iraq. We'll leave it at that. 13. The problem is Iran shows no signs of changing. After the crusades Christianity went through a reformation where we took on a more humanist approach to religion. Radical Islamists still live their life hoping for a glorious death that will get them 72 virgins. I've got no problem with any nation that wants to go nuclear. As a nuclear power, it's hypocritical to deny those same benefits to anyone else. However, this deal is more like giving someone who wants to kill you and all your relatives the tools to do it. You don't give a baseball bat to someone who wants to hit you over the head with it. How do you feel about felons with guns? "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 14. Is it? That is the million dollar question isn't it? There is a 24 built in delay to know sites, and to inspect new sites, well, the bureaucratic nightmare built in to gain access to new suspected sites is endless. Not to mention in 6 years they can openly trade weapons and start openly working on their ballistic missile program. What could go wrong? I mean I'm sure the largest state sponsor of Terror will use the $100 billion in frozen assets that it will immediately have access too, to provide relief to the Iranian people rather than further fund proxy wars in Yemen, Syria, Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon. And I'm pretty sure that even though their Ideology says that it is perfectly OK to break deals with Infidels, we can trust them this time. In all honesty, no deal is better than this deal. No deal and applying the sanctions hard keeps them from funding that fuels terrorisms and grows their nuclear program. Under the deal we legitimize their nuclear program and agree to lift all sanctions all together eventually while providing them lots of loopholes to continue to develop the bomb in secret. If it unites Israel with all the Sunni Nations, you know it's not a good deal. (Not that unity is a bad thing, you know what I mean...) "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 15. So I wonder what the motive is going to be? One of the Marines that died was identified as a war hero with 2 purple hearts. It's a shame he wasn't allowed to defend himself. I think we could have saved their lives if we had a few more "This is a Gun Free Zone" stickers and signs up around these areas. "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 16. Hey look!!! Number 1 is in Illinois. Do you know what other town is in Illinois? Chiraq!!!! "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  17. Look John I love you man....But my town has a Fortune 500 company and we are about 15K....you pissy little town sucks. Get over it. You'll be up here in 2 weeks. You can check it out for real. Go to the beach, the museums, the 25 miles of parks along the lakeshore, admire the architecture... If you want to 'check it out for real' you would also include a tour of the projects and ghettos/slums, a foot tour after dark of those areas should provide a more comprehensive and balanced look at the whole of Chicago. Out of date information. The projects were ALL abandoned a decade ago and subsequentlydemolished Funny how people who don't live in Chicago think they know more about the place than people who do. Don't you mean "Chiraq?" I'm told it hasn't been Chicago for a while now.... http://edition.cnn.com/2015/06/06/entertainment/chiraq-chicago-spike-lee-movie-controversy/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 18. Well, Marko Rubio looks good to me... But he is kind of financially irresponsible though. He did pay off his student loans with with money he got from a book deal and then used what was left over to pay for a 24 foot fishing boat the media labeled a "luxury yacht." I know paying off bills is a lot more serious offence than selling government favor for donations to a personal foundation, but hopefully he will get though it. He's just got to pay off the right media station... Well there is FAUX NEWS they will put him on.... I mean they will put damn near anyone with good compassionate conservative creds on the air. Doesn't make Hillary any less corrupt.... Edited to add: 57% of America doesn't think she is trustworthy, 43% of America is on Medical grade marijuana.... http://edition.cnn.com/2015/06/17/politics/poll-2016-elections-hillary-clinton-trustworthy/ "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. 19. And as I said earlier, if Hillary wins, it just shows how corrupt our news media and politicians have come and it's just a sign of how our country is about to fall to the status of say Mexico, Venezuela, Somalia, whatever. Pick a corrupt 3rd world hell hole. Not saying Hillary won't win, but if she does, it's a sign. It seems lots of GOP voters get "signs" from on high. Still no corruption denials... 22. 2016 to 2024 is going to be another painful time for the GOP Not just for the GOP, the whole country. If Hillary gets elected it will show just how corrupt our news media, and by extension, our politicians have become. However, if Martin O'Malley some how pulled it off, even though there was a Democrat in the whitehouse, the country might survive for just a little while longer.... I am just waiting to see the ranks of the 101st ButtHurt Battalion to swell on Nov 5th 2016. If Hillary gets the Democratic Nomination she can't win. It would be handing over the election to the Republicans. She has to much baggage. She can't hide from it for ever. It would be like if Trump got the nomination for the republicans. When the general election comes around, she is going to get hammered for selling political favor for Clinton Foundation Donations, among other things. I notice you don't even deny how corrupt she is..... "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." 24. Meh! Without the gun she'd probably have used a swimming pool. The gun lovers are forever telling us how dangerous THEY are, I see what you did there. It's OK to kill the innocent, but the criminals must be protected. Let an innocent victim get stabbed to death by a nut job, and let some poor schmuck fall into a pool and down. It's the Democratic way. M "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." Life, the Universe, and Everything
  25. Well, I hate to say it, but I was close. The question I forgot was: "Tell me how the Republican party is out to get you and how innocent you are." Such hard hitting questions that cut right to the heart of the matter and cleared up any doubts about her trustworthiness in the face of all her scandals.
