Good morning to you too. It`s Monday and it was non-jumping weekend for me so not in the best mood. Sitting on an exam, watching my students so they don`t cheat. I see that they did not prepare especially well... So for sure there will be many attempts... dudeist skydiver #42

Sony GVH-D700 video recorder I`m not sure what this thing do, but it says: record and edit. I don`t see burn DVD or BD disc. Can it be used for everyday tandem operation, anyone using it, or laptop is better overall solution for that price? dudeist skydiver #42

No they are not the same. I jump Argus. Apart from it`s main function of cutting the loop, I like low maintennance cost, easy battery replacement and nice LCD display. I witnessed some Vigil isues that I did not like, but in the end it seems that AAD choice is perosnal preference thing. Vigil comes in cool box though. dudeist skydiver #42

I just found out that there are no tandem video for me this weekend. Even if the DZ would work for the weekend. And I`m kind of broke right now so I can`t pay for fun jumps... This Friday sucks. dudeist skydiver #42

You might try Argus. I have "not so good" experience with Vigil personally. my2c dudeist skydiver #42

Just don`t forget to PULL! I know some people thet forgot to pull after they came from the tunnel. P.S. And for me it was much more easy to fly in the air once I learned stuff in the tunnel. dudeist skydiver #42

It`s Friday. But still don`t know if it`s going to be some jumping for me this weekend. We have a large airshow in town and they banned all skydiving operation (except demos for the show) for two days. Maybe even on another DZ 70km away. So it`s like Monday. Sh*t. dudeist skydiver #42

I quit after smoking for 10 years, back in 2005. Didn`t use any drugs. I was in the mood of quitting smokes anyway. Then, I got realy, realy, realy drunk one night. Totally wasted. Tomorrow morning I had, of course, a horrible hangover. Then I light up one cigarete. It tasted like shit, i got sick like I`m gonna throw up. I threw the cigarette away, and that was it. The hangover and sickness helped to go through the first day, after that it was easier by the day. I was eating a lot of lollipops these days, but i quit that too. Gained about 10 pounds in a first month when I quit. Now after 4+ years, I suddenly started to feel the need to smoke again. Real bad. Maybe it is because the stress and all... Oh and I know some people that use Zyban. Soem of them got really psycho-weird sometimes. dudeist skydiver #42

That is definitely a big plus. dudeist skydiver #42

I heard (or read, i don`t remember) that letting small children jump has something to with a chance of them getting permanent psychological damage (nightmares, fears etc.) little off topic... I always wondered how is it that in the US you can sign up in the ARMY at 18 and go around shooting/killing people, but you can not go and buy a beer until you are 21... dudeist skydiver #42

What was your lowest intended hop & pop?
mircan replied to Parafoil27's topic in Safety and Training
It seems that a LOT of these low hop & pops are made during some demo jumps. Don`t know when to say no? I mean, been there - done that. One season we jumped demos all the time, but I quit when doing the jump was more important than basic safety. And right about when sh*t started to happen. dudeist skydiver #42 -

From people that told me how to pull "back float" to do Cessna 182 exit (diablopilot) to people that told me how to time it... Think about it. You REALLY made a difference. I did everything as I read here. You made a National champion. Put that in your Bio! If you were here you would now crawl drunk on the floor

Than you DSE! VASST trainig videos were great help

This is a "Thank you" post. You see... I`m learning to fly my body from various, "real", people, but I learned to fly a camera (still learning) just from dz.com and people that post here. In my country there are no "experienced camera flyers" that I could ask for advice, get coaching or something similar. So, I had to learn everything I know from here. I was competent enough so far to separate bullshit from good stuff. And I became e-vidiot. The pinnacle, so far, is that my team (and myself as a camera dude) won Gold in RW-4 at our Nationals. I was one with the team in the real sense of the word, I ran dual video, did trailing exits, got decent, judgeable video on all jumps and we won! I can only thank Quade on his articles on how to fly 4-way camera and to fly and setup wings. Plus, thank you all of you that post in Camera forum (Quade, Billvon, DSE, Saskia, Jimmytavino, PhreeZone, jtval, velocityphoto...) for all of the advice that you put here in the last couple of years since I started pursuing this discipline. I know that a LOT of things still lay in head of me, but I think that you people are responsible for my (small) success. P.S. Thank you Norman Kent. Your videos got me into this and tought me couple of things. dudeist skydiver #42

actual skydives vs wind tunnel
mircan replied to SivaGanesha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I went to the tunnel for the first time recently with just under a 700 jumps. I did 5.5 hours mostly freefly training. The air in the tunnel is more dense, the walls are near so you learn to fly tight and precise. In my experience, and I think most people will agree with me, is that if you learn to fly good inside, you will do good in the air. Also great thing would be that you do some (or as much as you can) jumps after the tunnel. For me it was soooo easy to do all those stuff later in the air. For another example, 4-way team that I do video for did 12-15 points in the tunnel and on the training it was 8-9, competition was just 7. There many things that you simply can not learn in the tunnel. Tunnel is a GREAT tool, but it`s just a tool. That`s my 2c. dudeist skydiver #42 -
