  1. Hillary wins and it's the best thing the GOP can hope for. "Jimmy Carter in a pantsuit". I love the O'Rourke spin. He just squeezes that lemon and adds his sugar. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  2. I'm not sure what to say to you. I see no flip flop at all. But I'll try. The stories are just that, complete with lessons and morals. But they are fiction. Even though they are fiction, I accept that you believe they are not. I am not trying to convince you, I know you believe, and will continue to believe. Even though I know they are fables. I am writing in this forum both to believers and non believers. There are a lot of people who believe in those, and other fables. And books with ancient rules written in them. I reject completely any attempts by any of these people to impose rules upon me that are based on these ancient writings. But that does not mean those writings are without value. The world would be much poorer if the Bible, the Qur'an, or the Torah were lost. Not to mention the many texts that I am not even aware of. 3. Um - National Defence - Yes - But National Healthcare is not in any founders document anywhere. Probably no National Road Building Clause either. Do you like using Interstate Highways? I sure do. I'd much rather drive your roads than Canadian roads. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  4. Google translate auto detect guesses that it's Hindi. Really? Google isn't geeky enough to understand Klingon? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  6. I agree that society in general has outgrown a sense of loyalty and self sacrifice - and I would never force that on anyone - not even a society that has given way to hedonism, greed, self-righteous humanism and a materialistic sense of entitlement that's simply not sustainable. There are people who bemoan the state of society and long for things to return to the way they used to be. I feel sorry for these people. They don't perceive the improvements in life at all, just an empty longing for a past that never really existed. Of course, there are places in the world where the situation for people has truly gone to a horrible state. Myself, I see that where I live, and where I spend a lot of time, namely the US and Canada, life is easy and fullfilling. Crime is down, most everyone is fat and even in the US where 20% of people have a hard time accessing healthcare, people are living longer. In the good old days more people attended church. And churches did their level best to suppress anyone who did not fit the mold. I am very very glad that I live in a time and place where it is safe to reject these blatantly false teachings. Good riddance to those who would try to control my thoughts using fear of damnation as their tool. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  8. Yes, high school aged kids who have gender identity issues need the state government persecuting them. They don't already have enough problems, let's pile some more on them. That would so obviously be what is best for society. This whole thing makes me feel slightly sick. Why are conservatives so effing cruel? 9. The Bible is a big book of fables. Long cherished handed down fables. Some people choose to believe the fables are non fiction and to find meaning and truth in them. It is completely pointless to tell such people that they are wrong. At the same time it is equally or even more pointless for believers to tell others that the Bible is anything but fiction. Both sides in this argument just need to accept each other. The fact is that even when you approach the Bible as the work of fiction that it is, these oldest of mankind's stories contain a lot of wisdom and lessons for today. But, they can not be used as a basis for law. Society has outgrown these simple lessons. That is why the US constitution bans promotion of religion by the government. You only have to look at societies that are governed by religion to know what a mistake that can be. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 10. You don't have to be a financial genius. You just have to get people to vote for you. Entertainers are good at that. I've been underestimating America's willingness to vote for this guy long enough. No more. His support just keeps growing. With public feelings about politicians being at an all time low many people will feel they have nothing to lose. If he can get his message under just a little more control, he can win. It's easy to see how given the public feelings about his opponent. Don't get me wrong, I think Clinton would make a great president. But she could easily lose. It's not like support for her is going up, it's going down. Support for Trump on the other hand is increasing. Momentum is hard to stop. At least the election is still a long way in the future in political terms. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  11. http://time.com/4322567/donald-trump-tax-plan-rich/?xid=homepage This is the beginning of Trump's strategy to win the White House. Now that he has managed to secure the delegate votes needed for the nomination, his plans will emerge. He will hold back some till after the convention, because there is still a danger of untrue electors casting ballots against him if a viable alternative emerges. Trump is not a true Republican, and in many ways not a true conservative either. He will take the traditional tack to the center in the general to new highs. He is not beholden at all to the party platform, and he will propose common sense non- ideological reforms that will make sense to many people who are tired of both parties. It is greatly possible that he will succeed against Hillary, who has very high negatives, and is a polarizing figure. He can easily assume the centrist positions that have the greatest appeal, and back off a little from "The Great Wall of America" talk. Everyone already knows the wall stuff was hyperbole, and they will accept reality when the Donald slowly lets them down. If he can manage to offend a little less, and be the natural entertainer that he is, and Hillary fails to capture some of the Sanders excited youth vote, Trump could possibly do far better than many are expecting. He could even have coattails for some Rs. God Bless America. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. Or maybe he will accepted the blame for the mistake he made. Recognize his error, plead guilty, take the punishment and move on in life trying to do better. Just like thousands of people who are caught driving impaired do every year. People make mistakes, sometimes even those who should know better. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. Oh yeah, the OP. My feeling is that presidents get way too much credit and blame for the circumstances the US finds itself it. Your government is largely reactionary, and modern communication is what is driving the change to a global economy. At the same time demographic shifts are causing tensions between groups vying for power in society. Into this fissure steps Trump. Frustrated people are willing to overlook his flaws because they want something different and that desire is stronger than their fear that he may take the country off the rails. Personally I feel he is too unpredictable to take a chance on. But I don't have a vote. Which is good because it means I don't have to make a decision. Who's fault is it? It's the voter's fault, they put him where he is. Not the media, not the establishment, not any administration. He said the words that those people wanted to hear. Many ugly mean spirited words, and those people voted for him anyway. It's their fault, not Bush, Clinton , or Obama. The decision was made by people who approve of Trump's message. Hopefully the larger US voter community will make a very different decision in November. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  14. That one made me chuckle. Both the meaning and the text of the Bible has been twisted, spun, changed, mistranslated, misspoken, abused, and used to advance every cause good and bad imaginable for as long as it has existed. It is actually good that you find it a constant in your life, but that is only because you have chosen to make it so. The reason you sometimes find it difficult to completely understand it, is that it's meaning changes to meet your needs. Even in your own life your understanding of it has changed. That's because every time you are troubled you go looking in it and search until you find the words needed to affirm what you have already decided is the truth. Then you tell yourself that the Bible tells you so. The Bible is wonderful. It is everything to everyone. Whatever you need you will find it there. So what if someone else finds the opposite of what you found? You can just tell yourself that they are reading it wrong! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 15. John is from Alberta and personally knows many affected people. I'm sure that his admiration for the selflessness demonstrated by those new Canadians and the gratitude they are making an effort to show, in no way diminish the strong feelings he has for our new fire refugees. 17. Who was that man? (or woman) I'd like to shake his hand. And what was the first production canopy to include them. Someone here knows. I'll bet several people get credited! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. Oh, since this is what you posted, I thought it might be what you believed. I'm skeptical as well. But I'm more skeptical of Airtec than I am of AAD. But only slightly so. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. Surely, you jest. Jerry Baumchen It's thought that the majority of affected babies will grow up to vote Republican. The Rs have to do something, they can feel the demographic sand shifting under their feet. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  20. I am at least partly indoctrinated. At 5 years old I my favourite song was Jesus Loves Me. But I lost my belief when I figured out that God was a fable at about age 10. Even so, the childhood beliefs are ingrained. In the 70's I had a acid trip that got a little too intense. I was worried I would never come down. At that time I prayed to Jesus to let me come down. And guess what. I eventually did! I learned a valuable lesson then. If you do enough bad drugs, you too can be a believer. I long ago left both LSD and religion behind. I'm not likely to return to either. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  21. Does your particular flavour of Christianity not recognize the Trinity? In the brand I was raised in God and Jesus are one. Of course, there as as many beliefs as there are believers, no two are exactly the same. That's why "experts" get involved in "angels on the head of a pin" type arguments. All of these beliefs are equally incorrect. I know this for a fact because I did not personally make them up. Only the ones I made up are true. 22. I don't remember you being this out spoken last year when AAD slipped in a mandatory 4 year factory return on the Vigil 2+ while still claiming they have no service cycle. Both of these companies are making changes that very few people can claim to know. I would like to see greater transparency from both, but lets face it, that is never going to happen. You may want to review your knowledge of AAD maintenance requirements. The Vigil 2+ needs to be sent in after ten years for a battery replacement. All Vigils require a new battery after ten years. Models older than he 2+ are field replaceable. They did not slip in any such requirement as you state. AAD is a somewhat more open company. And they clearly made changes at the time of introducing a new model. They did not just make a vague announcement. I did note at the time that the change to only factory battery change would be an inconvenience and is a negative. I will admit to being somewhat outspoken about Airtec. This is because I feel they are arrogant, boastful, condesending, and out of touch with their customer base. This latest error on their part is just one factor. I would like to add that these feelings do not extend to SSK, who services the CYPRES in North America. SSK has always been a first class and responsive company when I have dealt with them. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  23. That's true. It really should be a discussion of how much credibility Airtec has left. This very poorly handled change has damaged it significantly. People making purchasing decisions today need to keep 2020 in mind. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. Subjectivity of the post? Not sure which post you mean, I've lost track and I'm not going to take the time to sort it out. But keep in mind that this degenerative discussion centers around a highly subjective mis-characterization of your President's religious beliefs.
