  1. Way to try and pivot the thread toward your personal issues! Well played. As soon as the giraffes start consenting to being shot, trophy hunting can be discussed in the same way as legalized prostitution. Consent? The coercive nature of human trafficking is not consensual. The typical age of those entering prostitution is 12 years old - some are as young as 9. About 80% of prostitutes have been victims of rape - with some reports showing a large percentage of women being raped over 50 times per year. Prostitutes have a mortality rate that's 40 times higher than the national average. 75% of prostitutes attempt suicide - they account for 15% of completed suicides. A study found that 95% of prostitutes wanted to escape immediately. But hey, just legalize it - let's just ignore all that and focus on the devastating effects of the food chain. Shall we move on from the subject of hunting to your views on prostitution? Maybe you should start another thread. I'm not long on prostitution, but I doubt those statistics are accurate in any kind of common context. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. 2. Democracies everywhere must stand together. In your country powerful people are actively seeking to influence policy by controlling who gets appointed to the SC. You are a couple votes away from overturning the progress recently made in social policy. If people like me want to be free, we must be vigilant. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  3. True on many levels. You are now reporting on a book using terms that are jargon. Only you know the meaning of this jargon because you are the only one reading the book. This is not an effective way to communicate, except to those who are familiar with the terms the author is using. This is nonsense in the truest sense of the word. Speak in clear terms that people can relate to if you want to get a message across. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  4. I agree with this point. It's a non-issue. I do understand the context. I took your sentence as a complaint that the majority religion is not allowed to lead students in prayer. It's hard to read it in another way. I'm glad you favour separation of church and state. I hate the sin, but I love the sinner. 5. We can't give you an inch. Because the minute we do you will start dreaming about setting up a "christian" society. Only slightly better than some of the current "islamic" ones. None of us want to take a chance on being governed by clerics of any stripe. Or anyone else who supposes that they know what "god" or a "prophet" or maybe a "messiah" wants. Fundamentalist christians would suppress gays just as hard as we allow them to. And subjugate women as well. If they could they would pass laws. Because they say the magic man wants them too. But really we all know that these beliefs come from within people's minds. If you want to align yourself with Ron here I will assume you share his core beliefs. And at least some of those beliefs are evil. We won't be fooled again. History has shown what societies ruled by religion are like. This is the key sentence Jerry objects to. I'm going to ignore that thing about gays, because you couched it in a way that allows you to disown it. However, you seem to have a problem with a lack of prayer in public schools. Prayer is allowed in school. Private prayer is allowed anywhere. What is not allowed is for you or your kind to shove it down everyone's throat. Thank God for that. 6. well then, that's a mighty fine philosophy, bet it applies to lots of things too ouch, I just stubbed my toe. But seriously, I hear lots of people talking about wildlife in far away places. Mostly from people who live in cities. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  7. Your profile says you live in 'Frisco. There used to be some mighty fine wildlife there, but the grizzlys are gone now. To make room for you and your family to live. My point is, look after your own back yard and don't be so quick to judge others in far away places. If they want to sell the right to trophy hunt in their home that is not your business. They have calculated what is best for them. What have you done to restore wild habitat in CA? But I do agree with you there. Me neither. 8. Welcome to Canada1 But please, remember this: http://time.com/4462342/canadian-goverment-american-tourists-guns/?xid=homepage Tourist or terrorist, leave the munitions on your side of the border! 9. You are probably correct. I don't know that much about the difference. But I would assume that a part 91 operator must meet the standards. While a part 131 operator has the additional burden of more oversight and a requirement to not just meet, but prove that they are meeting the standard. And having that signed off by someone with a license on the line. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  11. Generally speaking . . . yes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_city See second paragraph. Isn't "urban" the usual code word? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. In Canada skydive operations are considered air commercial operations and aircraft are maintained to commercial standards. A jump ticket in Canada cost about 30% more than a jump ticket in the US as a direct result. It's not just the cost of the maintenance, most jump operations in the US have just as high standards. It's also the cost of compliance and bureaucracy. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  13. It's actually quite appropriate to use this term of hyperbole. The bible is largely hyperbole. As is calling something "a punishment from god". Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  14. Other than your fantasy about the world you live in taking a sharp right turn because of it, the first part is largely correct. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  15. That cloud is an illusion created by people who oppose her politics. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  16. Exactly. It was never going to be successful in the form it ended up being passed in. The Democrats were too afraid to stand up and pass a bill that would work. In both houses. But, the camel now has it's nose inside the tent......There is no going back now, anymore than conservatives can repeal medicare or social security. What do you think will happen next? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  17. Do you really think it is in America's interest for Assad to lose control of Syria? Who do you suppose the new rulers would be? That's why Obama keeps saying "Assad must go" but does absolutely nothing at all to make it happen. The hypocrisy of the charade going on over Syria is mind boggling to behold. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  18. A small man with a small mind can only see a small corner of the world. In his mind the bible is personal and his suffering is important. No one else matters much. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  19. Busybody Canadians butting in where they have no business again: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/trump-supporters-flood-canada-s-trump-sandwich-artist-with-bad-reviews-1.3726274 Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  21. Pretty much every thinking person prefers Clinton to Trump. No surprise here. Ahhhh Thinking people only gotcha good fucking joke I'm glad I was able to amuse you. I see now where her campaign thinks Utah may be in play now. How funny is that? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  22. What does that have to do with a State sanctioned coordinated program with involvement at the highest levels in support and cover? American athletes are about as clean as Swiss athletes. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  23. The dry side. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  24. Cher, Whoopi, Miley Cyrus and Al Sarpton have all vowed to leave the country if Trump becomes president. But who believes those people's vows? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  25. I also noted months ago that the membership here and in skydiving in general tends toward white and male. It includes most classes, but not so much the lowest classes. It should be no surprise that Trump appeal is stronger here than in the population as a whole. No one has yet given me a good reason to support Trump. Not one. That is because the only reasons to do so are ones that people are just too ashamed to admit to. Trump appeals to the worst instincts of not only America, but people in general. America will rise above the temptation of Trumpism. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
