    I remember my briefing from a balloon pilot at a Dollar Daze boogie in Fort Dodge IA. He showed me aerial pictures and pointed out what beans and corn look like from above. Then he advised me "you don't want to land in the corn". As it happened the morning air was pretty calm and I was the first exit. I landed on the airport property. But most of us fully expected a high probability of landing in a crop. So yes, landing "out" would be normal. For a tandem you need more altitude. Balloon skydives don't normally go high enough for safe tandems. So you would need to go higher. And the higher they go the more likely they are to drift away. You probably should assume the exit will not be stable, so you won't want to short yourself on altitude. Back to the original question. Which pretty much was asking "should I rat this guy out to someone?". No, but maybe you should say where this jump happened. And maybe you should talk to the people involved and learn about their system.

Even if it fails, Trump will nominate someone just as right wing, but probably female. If the election goes bad for McConnell he will push it through in the lame duck anyway.     I don't think so. I think the GOP is going to ram him through. McConnell will keep trying for now. But in the end he won’t have the votes, so either the nominee will withdraw, or he will be withdrawn. There will not be a vote on the floor. Of course that’s only my best guess.     The main point is that engine rebuilds should be done by qualified personnel in a professional shop. As it would have to be in a commercial operation with an AMO signing off on it.

    Pledges are meaningless. Regulations are enforceable. The USA has an agency charged with enforcing the FARs. It is not USPA. If a skydiver has a problem with how someone runs their air operation the proper agency to look to is the FAA. You can complain about this all you want. But you are wasting your time.

But it provides no information on skydive operations. The best source of information on skydive related accidents is here: http://diverdriver.com/accidents-by-year/ In my opinion there are far too many incidents considering the size of the industry. But that is just opinion, I have nothing to compare it to.

    Joe, you may be off track here. Or I am. I am not talking about Ford, the woman who was molested. I'm talking about her friend who posted collaborating words and then deleted them and now claims no knowledge. I believe Ford probably will testify in the end.     No, you are wrong. It is not. In a formal sense, it will not be considered. The committee will hear nothing about it. Just the public. Unless it comes up in testimony it is not part of the legal proceedings. But it is still there for Senators facing elections to think about. That's why it is political.
