Keep your eye on the ball. There is no chance that he will be overthrown. There is a chance that he will be re-elected. Politics is the art of the possible. Some songwriter in the sixties said something like: But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out Don't you know it's gonna be All right, all right, all right

Ummmm....maybe you've forgotten the option that still most likely will happen in November? You know, that election thingy.....

Come to think of it, 9/11 only killed about 3,000 Americans. The USA has spent several trillions of dollars and set in motion events that have probably killed millions. All in the name of taking revenge upon the Muslim world for daring to want to choose their own leaders without foreign interference. Life is cheap.

God has a long history of sending communicable diseases to harvest the lives of faithful. Nothing Mankind can do should be attempted to interfere with the Holiness of Her plans. -

It's just that there are a lot of people who want to see Trump bleed. Not that they are mean or anything, they are just curious to find out if his blood is orange.

It has nothing to do with the editorial content. The system cannot cope with the emoji’s. If you try to use an un-authorized emoji it will not accept the post.

You keep saying that. But you have yet to name one. Even if a DZ was to open, it is unlikely many people would go there to jump.

That "small band" seems to be about a third of the American population. It's scary. -

Better yet would be to work towards extermination of all non human mammals. -
Because seven days ago not enough people were paying attention. New York is an international city hub.

I’m not particularly concerned with security for this load. My next load back to Winnipeg is coming from a company called Diagio. It may be more concerning.

I just crossed into Canada with a load of TP going to Montreal. I started the trip bringing wood pulp to a P&G plant in Green Bay where they make paper products. Then I loaded in a nearby plant in Neenah WI. I crossed at Sault Ste. Marie after driving through the MI upper peninsula. I'm sure Wolf River Joe knows all these roads! There is very little traffic. I have been able to avoid nearly all human contact. I will certainly skip having a shower at a truck stop along the way. It will be 6 days on the road before I get home if all goes well. My reload out of the Montreal area back to Winnipeg is already planned.

The last fatal crashes I have heard of in commercial aviation were cause by faultly computer control systems. I'm not sure about the 100 number you are quoting, but that would have to be almost all GA, and they are not ever going to be affording to have autonomous control. That is what I am saying. Those are not autonomous vehicles. A vehicle that requires a human to monitor it is not autonomous. This is the arrogance of the tech world I speak of. The tech is not up to replacing the human, and it will not be for many years. That's what I said. They need to pick the low hanging fruit. I am not a Luddite. I can see that some tasks can be handled by the machines. I am simply saying that the goal that is be attempted to be sold, namely a system of widespread autonomous transportation, in not attainable with our present tech. Which is to say, I agree with the OP.

I love this place. Where else can the arrogance of a highly skilled and accomplished engineer run into the arrogance of a grade 9 drop out truck driver? (I actually don't feel either of us are particularly arrogant) Sure, airplanes can fly themselves. Until they can't. Autopilots and augmented control systems are tools used by pilots to make it easier to do there jobs safely. But they lack the thing we call "situational awareness". Even if you would be foolish enough to fly in an autonomous aircraft with no pilot, you will not be allowed to in your lifetime, or likely that of you children. Perhaps your grandchildren. What will happen when the computers have to deal with both engines out from a flock of geese? I'm certain it won't make a decision and execute a survivable landing into the Hudson River. I know that self driving cars are here, in a way, sort of. But that is a far cry from the vision of roads full of driverless autonomous vehicles interacting with each other while people sit in them playing Candy Crush or posting in forums. This is the end result that Waymo and others are reaching for, and will not be able to reach. This is the complex problem of not just finding a way to do it, but to do it reliably with a reasonable amount of support and maintenance, and without spending so much money on super computers in each unit. AI is sort of an oxymoron. It is artificial, but not intelligent in any way. It can only deal with what it is taught. I know, self learning is the new buzz in AI, but I will say again, it will be easier and more practical to fly an aircraft autonomously than to fill the highways with autonomous vehicles. It is like "flying cars". Theoretically possible, and several examples exist of machines that can do both, but impractical on more than one level.

That's because the tend to be more than a little smarter. Which is part of the reason conservatives hate them so much.
