There is nothing new under the Sun. Do you remember, 1968? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSlpRp4wLCw -

So, now a basement is a "dungeon"? It seems to me that pizza gate also centred on a dungeon. In a basement that did not exist. Do you have a link to any stories about this, or just this vague accusation? I do agree that the timing of charges against her following the replacement of the US Attorney is remarkable.

Somewhat bizarrely a man shoots at "a charging dog", misses and wounds a child. https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2020/7/7/21316718/gary-indiana-girl-10-shot-man-fending-dog-cleveland

SCOTUS Unanimously Sides With CO, WA In ‘Faithless Electors’ Case

That was a good link. I now see the process. I knew it was not a secret ballot, but I envisioned them all being opened and counted in Washington. It is a little arcane and weird, but hardly weirder than what the monarchy has left us with. -
Sunpath sells a kit. It is quite simple, just replacement housings and a new cutaway cable. They will need to know the size of the harness to sell you the correct length housings. You simply remove the soft housings and install the new ones into the existing channels. Then you tack them down in the usual way. After that you install the new cutaway handle and cables, measure them, and trim them to the correct length. Some people have been known to use parts salvaged from retired rigs. But Sunpath would never suggest that, and if you are going in that direction you need to be qualified to judge if the parts are compatible. (This will undoubtedly lead to a discussion on who is qualified!)

I know, you were assumed to be making a judgement upon others when I could see that you were also relating your experience. It's hard these days.

That does nothing to explain why you are still alive! People in respiratory distress will use the shorthand of "I can't breath" when they are in distress and can only speak with difficulty. It is simply the least number of words you can use to get the message out while you still can. No one should ever just ignore those words because they may be a lie.

SCOTUS Unanimously Sides With CO, WA In ‘Faithless Electors’ Case
gowlerk replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, it is more complicated than I first thought. But in order to be able to dismiss and change an elector the state would need to be able to somehow predict her vote. I don't see anyway to actually compel a vote. -
A hallmark of the right is their feeling if they don't resist the changes they will be washed away. They are fearful and fear is easily the most emotionally powerful motivator. It also triggers anger, another hallmark.

The more I hear about people, even people who were "asymptomatic", struggling with the after effects the more I am wanting to take less and less chances. This thing is nasty. I sure am hoping for an effective vaccine.

SCOTUS Unanimously Sides With CO, WA In ‘Faithless Electors’ Case
gowlerk replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
My understanding is that the ruling does not mean that an elector can not vote anyway she chooses. Only that a state is free to fine her if she votes in a "faithless" manner. -
I thought that there was no way America would choose Trump as potus. Apparently I was wrong. I also thought there was no way America would choose Obama, also wrong.

I just saw an FB meme that basically points out that of all the developed western nations only one has no universal heath care. And that coincidentally it is also the only one that is allowing Covid-19 to get out of control.

Unfortunately he ran away from the others in the nomination contest. It was Republicans who chose him when they could have put a number of others up against the Hated Hilary. And why did they choose him? Well, the central theme of his run was fear of immigration. Republicans chose him because they agreed with his message and did not care very much about his obvious shortcomings. And now the party will be punished. A least I hope it will be. I thought it would be punished for choosing such a bad candidate in 2016 and I was clearly wrong then. -
In the meantime sibling rivalry turns serious when a 4 yo boy shoots his 5 yo sister. Fortunately non fatal, but a head wound. https://www.wxyz.com/news/5-year-old-child-accidentally-shot-in-head-by-4-year-old-sibling-at-redford-twp-home

While arguments over the trump campaign's use or non-use of Nazi iconography rage on and on as a distraction Covid-19 is now poised to run away and America just seems resigned to accept it's fate. "We know of the 50,000 cases this past day -- a single day of this (holiday) weekend," Walensky said. "If they're young people, it could be 500 people who die from that. If they're older people, it could be 7,500 people who die from that -- just from a single day of infection." https://us.cnn.com/2020/07/06/health/us-coronavirus-monday/index.html
