  1. But starting off with easier simpler dives than where you were when you last jumped. By recognizing sensible limits and re-learning old skill. In some cases it may involve formal instruction and/or coaching. But mostly it's just common sense.
  2. Fox news has a far reach. I never watch it, and rarely watch any TV at all. All the same the time I spend here and on other social media informs me of much of what Fox news is saying. You should not assume that anyone in particular is watching it just because they comment about it. We are all mostly aware of what it is.

Yeah sure. Right after Hilary goes to the slammer. Don't turn blue holding your breath.
  4. It means the same thing as believing in any other god. It is called mysticism and it certainly is not unique to Christians.
  5. The part of the US population you belong to is culturally Christian. Historically the whole continent is pagan.
  6. Copied from page 115 of the most current Sigma manual I have, CHAPTER 2: OTHER ACTIVITIES These guidelines are not optional. They must be followed, or the Tandem Instructor and Tandem rig owner will be in violation of the User Agreement under which Tandem jumping is operated and will consequently no longer be allowed to legally perform Tandem Jumps. PARTICIPANTS QUALIFICATIONS For any relative work (RW) skydiver to accompany a Tandem pair, one of these three criteria must be met: • RW skydiver must have a minimum of 500 relative work skydives • RW skydiver must be either a current Tandem Instructor or a current AFF jumpmaster • Have 300 relative work skydives and pass the skills set of the USPA coach rating In addition to the above, the following must be met • RW skydiver must have made at least 100 RW jumps in the last year. • Cameramen must have at least 100 camera jumps.

    covid-19

Yes, what it comes down to is that Covid is actually a real thing. But not in their lives at this time. So being inconvenienced is bullshit.
  8. I live 3.5 hours north of them in Canada. I've been down there to visit several times. It's a nice friendly club style DZ where they love visitors and treat people well. Can't say enough good things about them.
  9. Cool.....I just goes to confirm my belief that EVERYONE is affected by their view of racial characteristics. There sure are a pile of stereotypes, as a white person I consider myself part of white culture. And Canadian is not much different than American. Some, but not all of those points describe my culture. Just remember what mama always said. Racist is as racist does.
  10. That's how your children end up in the stupid firearm accident thread.
  11. Land of the free? Methinks someone is in serious need of some heavy duty "de-funding".

    covid-19

No details released on what happened, but this might have something to do with all the un-connected dots. In a news release issued Thursday morning, the SIU said investigators had recovered a pistol and a semi-automatic rifle from the scene. The firearms of two police officers were also taken into evidence, the agency said.
  13. It seems to me some of them tried to organize a boycott against Nike. Which of course drove it share price higher.
  14. They are likely going to end up in the stupid fire arm accident thread!
  15. The Atlantic article does a good job of pointing out that life is not fair. Something that people of colour in America have known about for a long time. But it’s worth complaining about when it’s powerful people who are being treated unfairly for some reason.
  16. Some people have begun calling it cancel culture, as a way of belittling it. I have a different name for it, I call it accountability.

  19. How many lawns and swimming pools will be saved?
  20. The reason people are so hard on guys like this is the effect they have on others. His mistake was one that will probably harm others. Too many officials in the US are making decisions based on political positions rather than medical reasoning. Personally, I am somewhat conflicted. I see a man like this as a symbol and therefore want him to suffer symbolically. I also know that it is wrong to wish bad things for him. In the end none of us have any control over his outcome anyway. If any one of us were in the position of providing him care I am sure we would treat him as well as any other patient.
