Last night at the convention she wore a tan suit. More proof of her impeccable sense of history and irony.

Even better, the D party will almost certainly regain control of the House and then speaker Jeffries will take over control. The Senate may still be out of reach, but not as far as it was. It just depends on how motivated people are against forced birth laws.

That's not praise. Please try to stay on topic. And most likely she will serve 8 years as POTUS and leave a record of extreme competence.

I have accumulated eleven names total on my ignore list. Only one of which is someone who actually still posts here. You?

We do not see what sanctions have been imposed. Going off topic is not a mortal sin, only a venial one.

I volunteered for the army on my birthday. They draft the white trash first around here anyway. I done two tours of duty in Vietnam and I came home with a brand new plan.

Time magazine has good things to say, and so did Trump https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/08/13/kamala-time-magazine-cover-melania/74779474007/ Joe Rogan is a fan. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/08/13/kamala-time-magazine-cover-melania/74779474007/

This would be a fun one to ask you to back up with examples. You rhetoric is becoming quite florid.

There are people in place at the state level who may try to subvert the will of the people if it is close enough that they can make the difference.

Coup's require the military to participate. They require a power base within the establishment willing to throw caution to the wind and risk it all. After the nearly successful assassination attempt it is pretty clear that he does not even have the power to maintain his security. A genuine coup attempt is not something he could escape the consequences of. There could be a crisis of a street type demonstration turning into an attempt at not a coup but a revolution. And it would leave ant huge scar on the nation. But it could not succeed because the people who control the power would not support it. A dose of reality is called for here. Trump does not and never has had that level of support. The people who could make such a thing happen are all in comfortable positions in the most powerful state the world has ever seen. They are not going to throw that away for the deranged orange buffoon. The power that he does have comes from his ability to get votes, especially primary votes. Without votes he can not and will not prevail. The reason he is running a poor campaign is that he is a poor candidate who will not take advice from anyone. Most of the R party leaders will pounce on him once he is crippled. Like rats from a sinking ship.

Whadda ya mean? Evil Nancy had him impeached! Oh yeah, I forgot that's meaningless in today's USA.

He has always been careful to just walk up to a line and not go over it. Or at least not over it enough that he can't throw his minions under the bus and walk away. There will be a few protests, no rebellion.
-
Even if it was more uniform the same people would be up in arms over theology and what branch others belong to. It has always been the same, only the names have changed.
-
Well....he will have a much harder time of it considering that he will not be in possession of the levers of power like he was at that time. Is he going to threaten to have his crowd hang the Veep?

Not even to be "fashionable"? Some of the things I've seen people who don't really have a clue about how hard this is on those who are suffering are indeed just plain absurd.

Now this. On top of everything else about the man. This is Tim Walz' restored 1979 International Scout. It's his only personal vehicle.
-
Transphobia? The fear that allowing this sort of behavior is going to undermine their society and even worse, make them feel uncomfortable possibly even self conscious.
-
The professional ones do. It is part of the cost of business for them. The average criminal is far too stupid to think very far ahead.

There are known unknowns and then there are the more serious unknown unknowns. All I know is that so far I've been able to resist buying a pink, or even a rainbow jumpsuit. But I do have a real cute pink dress shirt that some people have complimented me on so maybe I'm in danger of being influenced into playing at least part time for the other team without even knowing it. Scary stuff.

I'll bet you a jump ticket that he doesn't dare to state what has him all puckered up.

Hasn't the US recently had a serious rollback of reproductive choice rights? Is there not a "anti-woke" movement? Those who think the battles are won have never actually had to fight.

From the Atlantic here is a list of the articles from this author. It would appear that he believes there is no longer a need to advocate for gay rights and has been writing about that for a few years now. A few people are wondering what you are trying to say. So What are you trying to say? https://www.theatlantic.com/author/james-kirchick/ And here is more of his bio... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Kirchick

Do you have anything to say that I can respond to?

I feel guilty, but it’s kind of fun cheering while watching Ukraine learning that the best defence is a good offence.
