It will all be over just as soon as everyone adopts my point of view and comes to the same conclusion as me. Unless of course I change my mind in some way. Then I will have to let you all know what to think next.

The storm was forecast over a wide area. The problem occurred over a 50 mile stretch of I-95 and it's alternate routes. By the standards of where I live, and even Chicago, it was not that much of a storm. But yes, most likely I would have seen it coming and been hiding away in a safe truckstop like I usually do these days.

Please show me where the has church abandoned the view that Genesis is a literal truth. Certainly almost all members have, but officially? No way.
-
But what does it say about the origin of those supposed ancestors? All three of the mainline monotheistic religions teach that they were created as fully human. Science does not support that in any way shape or form.
-
Another reason would be that his origins are not European. Not that the church is anymore racist than other parts of society, but the power in it is mostly held in Rome by Europeans.
-
It is not neither a good or a bad thing. I'm merely pointing out that pretending to understand the nature of existence through the doctrine of the church, or any other doctrine is pointless by any objective measurement. The current Pope's move toward more modern and moderate positions is a good thing as far as it goes. But that is not very far. He is still the head of a very deeply flawed and powerful institution with a long and abusive history.

The talking heads have a job. That job is to find out the relevant information and to report it to you. But if you don't like the message I suppose that you could search in the dark corners of the web and find people with more "interesting" things to report that are more along the lines of what you want to hear. Some people call that "research".

He seems like a better salesman than most. But it is still nothing but his personal speculation on a matter that no human can possibly know or understand. In other words it is just made up shit, but with an attempt to frame it in a way that helps reconcile it with the little knowledge that we have. It is no better than sticking with the 6 day and one day of rest formula in the end. His job is to do the best he can to maintain the power of his church.

Everything has a price. You have to service your market to continue in business.

We were poor. We only has Aesop's.

My children were raised completely outside of any religion. The only downside to that I have found is a small amount of regret that they have little to no knowledge of the common fables of the bible. They seem to have no regrets at all.

Seems like a good idea.... https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/05/europe/macron-unvaccinated-comments-vaccine-pass-intl/index.html

Does that make your initials J.E.W.?

Have you not already learned your lesson on this?

I once had a go at starting a religion called Kenism. The first rule of Kenism is that no one is ever allowed to make money from Kenism. Least of all Ken.

I can think of no religion that is inherently bad. Although Mormonism in its original form did promote racism. And it and several others are actively misogynist. Religions are generally used to organize groups of people. Society does not exist without organized groups. And they promote tribalism almost as a matter of course, which we also need in order to thrive. They are almost always corrupted by leaders seeking power. They only differ in degree. In the end it is the leadership that is harmful. They are able to gain a lot of power with almost no accountability. The most obvious example is possibly the most corrupt organization that has ever existed. The Holy Roman Church and its empire. And it is not because of evil theology, it is because of the power it has been able to amass and hang onto over many centuries. It is clearly on the decline now but it has a long way to go.

https://www.gotquestions.org/kick-against-the-pricks.html In this saying, that I stole from Johnny Cash , "pricks" has a different meaning than you might think.
-
You don't. But you also don't have to go out of your way to antagonize them. Up to you, I'm just laying out the conclusion I have come to. I make a habit of "kicking against the pricks" when I feel the need. I lay into them for what they do, I leave the beliefs alone.
-
Yes, covering up your religion in good works does not change the underlying flaws. Charity does not require religion.
-
Yea, I don't know what it is but I am not opening it. Send a link.
-
Also beside the point.
-
See above, it is not any less ludicrous. Scientology is my favourite example of fools believing in foolishness. But there are so many to choose from.
-
They don't become any more or less ludicrous the more you point it out. All religions that pretend to understand any kind of "creation" are ludicrous. It goes without saying. Calling out believers for believing in magic is pointless. Unless your goal is to antagonize, it works every time for that. You are not smarter than them just because you can see the obvious fallacy. They are all aware of it. Some choose to believe anyway, most choose to pretend to believe because they want to remain in the culture.

We have been using light neck warmer buffs and pulling them up over our faces. Not the least bit effective, but makes a good show for the tandem customers.

Not picky at all. Just put your order in and give your credit card number. I believe Chuting Star can also provide you with all your seal press and forging needs. But if he wants the "well used" look he may have to go to the DZ and hang out with some old guys. Sooner or later an estate sale one will pop up. I got one on ebay once that way.
