I've gotten alot of training in since September of 2004, unfortunatly, I need and have been on hiatus from the sport to get alot of life options in order, and I plan to start jumping again within the year but the magic is leaving me. I've been in love with skydiving since I was 11 and couldn't wait to get my first jump in. 11 years later I tandemed and did my AFF, and it was everything I thought it would be and more. (the jump, the people, the people, the jump, the jump, the people, you get the point...) Lately I've been having the out of site out of mind kind of thing going... Im wondering, for anyone who has left the sport and had total loss of conciousness for it, when you came back, how was it for you? were you nervous? did "that feeling" return on the ride upto altitude? did you fall back in love? more in love? less in love? what changed from before... My uncle had gotten one, with a bunch of the laserdisc, being used to VHS at the time I thought those things were the coolest things in the world... kind of still do, and the size of them made them that much cooler, cept it's much more probable to scratch... thats the sucky part. sadly after that month of less than profitable market, dvds came out about 1-2 months later... talk about cutting off at the legs... so I just made it back from the local video store, and happen to witness a seemingly old and matured couple choosing a movie ... (here they still mix VHS with DVD), the husband picks up the box and says, "this is good, lets see this", the woman takes the box from him and says, "(mans name), it's VHS..." and puts it back on the shelf... Hard to admit that I was pretty taken back by this as this event chalks up a mark on my timeline when VHS has officially left the building... -- Just thought I'd share-- "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
