  1. If his actions stemmed from his personal views and values of life or what have you, he should be held fully accountable and I agree (if this is the case) he did not get what he fully deserved. Not only was he acting in a unprofessional manner, but he encouraged his derranged perspective among innocent subordinates. ALSO!!! If he did hold the commanding word over the unit in the prison (If he was the HH over there) then your fucking right he should be held accountable. with extreme prejudice. Furthermore, If these interrogation techniques had been performed in a professional, militant manner (and yes, theatrics are a part of interrogation) with an objective (getting intel from the prisoners) then and only then could I understand. The media's involvement and interpretation of this case brings nothing but contradiction to the table which makes this whole thing hard for me to swallow. "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
  2. %38 WTF?!?!? What the hell does Chav mean??? "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
  3. As a taxpayer I would like to know.... Granted there's not much I can do about it. But if our government feels comfortable about putting that information out in a press junket I trust that they've already had contacts within Iran, and apparently things didn't go well. It's not like we're just going to "sucker-punch" them in the middle of the night. There's trade agreements, trade routes, alliances, aftermath, lashback,... there's HUNDREDS of different reasons that must be factored in before making such a declaration of war. An attack on Iran would've been insane a year or two ago. I wonder whats changed... There is absolutely nothing wrong with our intelligence agencies... Secrecy and your need to know are very well in effect... And the fact that your under the impression that they're not functional means they are doing their jobs very well. The CIA is NOT fucked up!!!! "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
  4. Yeah, they really threw the book at him...what im upset about is he said he was told to take these courses of action by superior authorities.... who and where are these authorities??? This is my question... I just don't like it something is out of place. This guy is no more a monster than the next person given that kind of authority. We've all heard of "abuse of power", well to me, his job was to abuse his power. Yes, you are right... the sentence is ridiculous... I hope somewhere their secretly hooking this guy up with something worth going through this bullshit for. as stated before - they were dumb enough to take vids & photos and get caught "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
  5. I think this verdict gives us the green light to start beating the shit out of iraqi POW's.. This mockery of judicial military punishment is just a way of saying to the world - ie. The UN - that we're following protocol of war... (whatever that is), and that we've got structures in place to prevent breach of the Geneva Convention. So we don't need anyone but ourselves monitering ourselves and what we do with our prisoners. For whoever said, that a soldier could simply refuse an order because (s)he doesn't think it's right morally ... we'll according the the Uniform Code of Military Justice this is true. But you try refusing a order claiming that it is unlawful. You'll get hit up with a serious loss of pay and decrease in rank with probable loss of duty status, until your case is tried and a verdict is decided. These soldiers have families at home and they cannot afford to dimish their paychecks over an order. well, it's up to them to weight it out. But still... if your being ORDERED by a superior officer, you do what your told. plain and simple. The whole thing smells funny to me... I mean he is the ONLY person getting penalized??? Im sorry people, that is just not how it works in the military. "'Someday is not a day in my week'"

  7. Reading most of this thread has me concerned why nobody has mentioned the spectrum of american culture. Anyone who hops around enough is SURE to see very distinct characteristics in dealings with urban, suburbian, and country peoples... Then there is also a HUGE difference in all three categories incorperating the black vs. white cultures in america. What say you to the black citizens of america who do not agree with the "american" way of life? Go back to Africa??? The way I see it, African- Americans hold a share in well more than %50 of what America produces considering adolescent american annuities was almost purely made off of slave labor, without which this country would NOT have survived. Your theory of one culture (american) sounds more to me as saying, just because we grew up here makes us american. Technically yes, we would be classed as americans to marketing and advertising groups for demographic value. But tell me, what traditions do we as americans celebrate that did not transpire overseas??? I believe that our multiculture history has breed america good fortune. When we come together we are able to break communication barriers world over with goal-oriented progress on a highly advanced level (bringing in centuries of knowledge from the world over) as oppose to comptetion-fueled progress. I guess when you have every country in the world put their peas in the same pot big, small, fat, skinny ,blue, green, ripe, rotten, bitter, salty, sweet, etc.. you get america. And our pea soup taste great! -Tony P.S. - And if you pay taxes.... I don't care if you just got off the boat or just turned 18 and bought a house, If you pay taxes on ANYTHING (in america of course)you can come over here and piss on the language if you want.
  8. hrmmm..... I should've been specific, There's some things you can do in a marriage you can't do in a adolecsent relationship, and vice versa.... I was referring to my piece in that thread... get your head out of the gutter ladies.... "Are more men looking for wives or more women looking for husbands?" I don't know... how would you be able to tell???, seeing as how alot of relationships start at the most randomn of times... "'Someday is not a day in my week'"

  13. QuotePeople over 35 should be dead. Here's why. According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were " - blah blah blah... "Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint." (that explains "over 30" mentality) "We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets," (That was just a form of population control no longer needed) " ... and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.)" (You think we like wearing helmets???) "As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air bags." Someone was eventually going to invent the airbag... blame corporate america. "Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat." We ride on the back of motorcycles at 90mph.... INVERTED!!! "We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle." We use water from the garden hose to WATER THE GARDEN!!! "We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing." What happened??? "We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this." Did you pass to the left??? well if you didn't know, that's the rule now.... "We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes." We use ski's and snowboards "After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem." we're still ski'ing "We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on." We leave when the street lights come on and not come back until the morning.... doesn't prove anything "No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!!" Just think of it as a step up from passing notes in class. "We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms." now your starting to sound jealous... "We had friends! We went outside and found them." Hrrmmm.... Im gonna say, you have a teenager, correct me if Im wrong.. :) "We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt." DODGE IT!!!! "We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us." .................... yeah I agree with that one "We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it." mjo, that still happens... "We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever." A good therapist would've prevented that... heheheee "We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them." dood... again, kids still do this, I think... I used to "Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment." yeah, but who gets to play??? "Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade." hey, somebody needs to work at Wal-Mart (damn, I feel horrible for saying that.. but it's true...) "Tests were not adjusted for any reason." not true and you know it! "Our actions were our own." as oppose to whom??? Consequences were expected. Yeah, blame the teachers who tell police they have bad parents.. then in less than a day the kid is put in foster care. who I believe range in the 35 and up ages. "The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law." yeah... ummmm, jail is a little bit different now. "This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever." Fuckin right dawgy!!! People over 30 are WHINE!!! I'm 22, and you sound like my DAD!!! nothing but love though comming here... but honestly... are we THAT bad??? "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
