  1. you're absolutely welcome, love. It was fun. Let me know when you're coming out this way again, and I will do whatever I can to jump with you, instead of just being in awe of you! and Happy Birthday a few days early...and hugs to you! 2. - that is, if you meant me. There are other Michele's here... I was scared to come into this thread in case I wasn't mentioned...but at least you like my brain. It is considered the largest sexual organ there is.... And MelStarr, I wanna meet you too, although I promise that there are folks who really could counter your 'sweet' claim. Thanks for the mentions. I wish someone would come knock on my door, sweep me off my feet (which means he'd have to be very strong! LOL) and we could fly off into the sunset on a high alti hnp. 'Til then, I shall try to be patient....and sail off into the sunset all by myself. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  3. Considiring that there was no bruising found on his torso, head, or neck (per many newscasts) but were instead confined to his legs and hips/buttocks, I suspect the baton usage did very little to contribute to his death. Rather, the PCP, crack, methanol, and oversized heart led to conditions which could not sustain the adrenalin issues involved in an altercation with the police. And Andrew, you still haven't answered the question. Hypnotism requires a willing subject, and this suspect was not a willing subject. You don't know what you'd've done differently - you've said as much. Since you are rampantly willing to criticize (from your throne, as Jimbo put it), and not offer a viable solution but rather think sarcasm and a facetious reply is best, I would suggest you 'fess up to not having a solution, but rather an issue with the cops. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  4. It isn't that you're not answering it like folks want to hear...it's not answering at all. It's dancing around a direct question. What would you (not the cops, not the "institution"...you) have done differently given the same set of circumstances? Your repeated refusal to answer the question makes me think that you have an ax to grind with the cops, and aren't able to see this objectively. If so, that's cool - we all have our own personal prejudices. But don't cloak it in you have answered, when indeed you haven't. 5. Hey! Jeni! Your brother loves you so much he's asked the world to wish you well! So, from my little corner of it here on the west Coast, I wish you great health, rapid and complete recovery, and a very long and healthy life full of love and happiness. If there's anything I've learned, it's attitude has more to do with recovery than pretty much anything else. Should you need to talk, get your brother to pm me, and you and I can have some chats about thing. In the mean time, rest comfortably, knowing you are loved. Look at the faces around you as you rest, and know that their hearts beat with yours, and that you are safe and protected in their love, and their love is guided by God's love. Best to you!!! 6. Joel's pretty kewl - and that is a wonderful shot. Sid, check your pm's in about 3 minutes. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  7. Something which seems to be forgotten here, is that once an officer goes down with a bad guy, it becomes a lethal force situation. Why? Because the officer's gun is within easy reach of both the cop and the bad guy. Now, I am not positive about this, but it would seem to me that there was a time or two in this situation where the cops were in a serious struggle, and that the officer's weapon was within easy reach of the suspect. This justifies lethal force, iirc, and the fact that it wasn't used is commendable. It is a pity that the suspect died. A waste of life. Really shitty. But when you combine methanol (embalming fluid), PCP, and other things, the results are unpredictable, and the officers did what they needed to to go home. As for the race card, iirc, one of the officers was black. I don't think any of the officers sat there and thought - "oh, a black guy. Let's beat the fuck outta him and kill his ass. Whaaaaaaaaaahoooooooooooo!". I think perhaps the thoughts were more along the line of "holy shit, this guy's dusted, serious danger here, what to do to protect myself and my fellow officers???". 8. A few absolutely stupid books. I was defrauded. They marketed them as interesting, but noooooooooooooooooo, not in the least. Yawners from page one through whatever page number I made it to before finally giving up... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  9. Tee hee, the mailman brought my copy today. This was a really fun article to write, but also challenging. It came out all right, though! Dotcommers who were interviewed: ~DivaSkyChick (Mandy Hampton) ~Allijr (Allison Richards) ~Kolla (Kolla Kolbeinsdottir) ~CurtisMelaniej (Melanie Cutis) ~wmw999 (Wendy Wilkinson) ~Giakrembs (Gia Merrill) ~IceMaker (Selena Gordon) (BTW, I was the low-number jumper who funnelled the formation that Selena talks about...) Linda Roberts, a friend of mine who did her first tandem at the boogie, also got a photo as well as a quote in it. Some of the dzcommer guys who were in the photos are Cajones (Ed Dickinson, with Linda Roberts as her TM...photo by Lewmonst), Shark (raft dive, I think), SonnyChiba (Leon Tosen - where's the pink helmet, buddy???), Alli, Laurel and me in the group shot (I think there are more, but I'm not sure). Kevin, I have to run to the office, but I will read your article there...this was a seriously DZ.com dominated mag. Hee hee!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sangiro, we aretaking over the world!! 10. I so love that shot. I was hoping that it was going to "cover", but I guess not...argh, where's my copy????? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  11. I still haven't received my Parachutist this month! Most of the folks quoted were dz.commers, too, and I think a whole lot of the photos that Joel Keisel took and got published were of them, as well....when I get the mag, I'lll "out" them!!! Kev, I look forward to reading your article!!! How cool!!!! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  12. Send it to me, as well, Stacy. I am far better at sending cards then packages... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  13. Big vibes to you, my friend. Have faith, she's where the Drs can address it, and she will be fine. Let me know if I can do anything - don't hesitate to pm me! And here's a {{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} for you. It will be all right. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  14. Kris, you rock. Told ya Elsinore was amazing! Lots of fun and lots of good vibes there, no doubt!! And congratulations...this has been a rough week for you, and you're out of it now, and on your way. Kick ass, lovely girl!!! I will be out there on Saturday - looking forward to giving you a hug!! 15. I agree, Darius, that looking at things from only one perspective is pretty limiting. What I would add, though, is that I have a personal issue with any sort of blood lines being the determinate factor in making any sort of assessment. While I understand that there are cultures wherein lineage and heritage are the most important aspects that determines a person's destiny, to me (and this is only personal...) that is something that is in fact a significant inhibitor. That leaves lots of very intelligent people out of the equasion simply because their parents were (name that race, culture, idiological reference) and that (fill in the blank) is considered not as capable. History is rife with that sort of issue - no need to name them here - and it has been the base for some of the global community's most shameful actions. I have read a lot of the posts. You bring some interesting commentary to the table, as do others. Whether I agree with them or not is a different matter entirely. I have very strongly held views that were not come by easily nor simply; and I have changed some of them over time from one end of the spectrum to the other based on life, information, and experience. I value commentary that is not intended to inflame, but rather that which is made to inform. I have heard both tones here on this thread, but I shan't name them. Just some thoughts tonight... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  16. Glad you made it into the sky, Rosa... and huge Happy Birthday to Kris, and congratulations on going to Elsinore. Told ya you'd be fine there, and that you'd just love it!!! Whhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! I will be out there on Saturday, Kris, so if you can get there, we should trade hugs and stuff!!! YAYAY to both of you! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  17. Adding some of my own vibes for you, too! Viberoonies to you! And let us know if there's anything else we can do to help... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  18. Ah, well. See, in the US, it is generally accepted that if you were born here, you are American. I'm pretty sure that's the way it is in lots of countries, but I can't be sure. I just know that it holds true for the US. And, you can become a naturalized citizen (ie Schwarzenegger {I can't spell his name}) by going through the citizenship courses, too. If it were blood law, then I am not wholly american, but rather scots, irish and american indian. I would then say that nobody could claim natural american status, with the exception of the native american population. Further, extrapolating that out, you could only be american if you were in the americas during it's formation, and thus we could simply eliminate all the native population in the west, the north (Alaska), and also all the Hawai'ian natives as well. Your examples demonstrate that heritage is important in your argument. I think, not knowing what you are arguing about, that Americans are those born here, or those naturalized here. Did that help clarify things? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
  19. Single. Living alone with three cats, and feeding two strays. Sigh... And I haven't gotten any, not even a good long cuddle, from someone who was interested in me in a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time. I am giving it up now. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

  23. 'Mama, you're right - I had the feeling that it was fluky and happenstance that the first article made it. But then they took this one, too...and I'm still giddy. I tell ya, it is sooooooo weird (and beyond kewlio) to see something that I wrote in the pages of a magazine. Really strange, and really amazing. I mean, it's me! I wrote that. Lil ol me. Tee hee....!!! Someday, maybe, it won't make me grin for days. Someday, maybe, it will be not quite as twizzling. Maybe. And maybe not. And then some
