Not while it's happening. Maybe later, but not during. yes you would. You'd pat around, you'd find it, and you'd pull it. You'd handle it fine. It was a difficult jump, to be sure. Congratulations, Matt! Coupla notes from a cat owner....err, cat slave. 1. If you leave food out, and water out, and there's some fresh air (a cracked window during the summer), then Bria will be just fine. 2. The litter box issue is not as bad as it used to be. Spend the extra $$ and get the crystal stuff. I have three cats, and I clean it every other day; you'll never smell it. I switched because it was better for odor, and my vet recommended it. 3. Please don't let her out. Even if you think she's fine, she may not be. It's much better to be safe than sorry. She will be totally fine inside. If you have any other questions, behavior problems, adjustment issues (yes, they happen), pm me and I'll do my best to help. I've handled three cats - two "strays" and one "feral", and they are all loving, well adjusted (well, perhaps except Pie. I wonder what we should expect from J. Kerry? He's a member as well..... Anyway... Does anyone have any idea how many boots on the ground we (the US) had v. the UK had? What sort of intel did the CIA receive? What sort did the Brits receive? Is there a generally more reliable source (as in telephone interceptance v. people overhearing/well placed spies?)? I find it fascinating that we are arguing who's at fault without exploring the differences in intel capturing and relating of it to superiors. Just wondering if anyone had an idea of the answers to the above, or are we all just utterly uninformed and have no way to determine the intel which was used? (aside from someone deciding to not read something because it's BS...heresay at best). Line twists can happen in old dungaree pants canopies, too. I had ludicrous line twists - pinned my head down - in a spectre 230....while I was not spinning (thank you God), I did have a problem on my hands. Managed to address it before I had to cut (well, I shoulda cut, but that's a different thread...) and landed fairly well. Just be aware that it can happen to you, too.... Good job on the cut, JS! I graduated HS in the 80s...indeed, an interesting time. Some of my favorite (still) songs come from that era. And Dragon's Lair was tons of fun.... Good question. I guess, for me, it's a matter of integrity. If I could ask them to see their certificate, I would. Oh, right, I have....and there was a big ol hubbub from their side (name calling, attitude, et cetera). Which is, by the way, the fastest way to pique my interest and make me question bona fides. I don't claim things which aren't mine. I don't like people who do. If I can't trust the person who's packing reserves to be honest, then how in the world can I trust them to pack my last chance? And lastly, I suppose, it comes down to safety. If someone is doing something unsafe, we as a community need to speak up and say something. We talk about that all the time here on these boards - tons of threads about that topic. It's not my nature to sit by and say "that's someone else's problem", be that someone else at my home DZ or in Timbuktu. Can you imagine if this person was packing reserves, and isn't qualified to do so, and a client of theirs went in? Huge issue for DZ, DZO, and all surrounding them. Talk about bad publicity and lawsuits...and how would I feel if that happened, and I knew something, but took no action? I'd feel very bad.... By the same token, I will not "out" this person until I am beyond positive that they are not what they say they are. If they are bona fide, then there shouldn't be any issue with me checking it out. I know that if I claimed to be a senior rigger, I'd have no problems with someone checking me out... Just my thoughts, and you're welcome to your own. And TomBuch, thanks for your post. I don't know when they took the test, if they did, so I suspect I will wait for a bit to see if the information doesn't change. I'd hate to out someone without being totally sure of myself, you know? I know, for example, that it takes soemthing like 2 months for us to get our licenses...do you know if it's the same for riggers, or is it more automatic? So, what if I've run the name of someone through the data base, and it doesn't show up? And yet he claims he is a senior rigger. He also doesn't have his pm's turned on, and there's no email listed. What now? I am not really comfortable "outting" someone in this area, because I know less than squat about how long it takes to get a rigger's ticket entered into the data base, and things like that. And isn't there a step before senior rigger, and wouldn't that have shown up? Or? What am I missing? And I made sure the system was working, because I ran Vinny Palmieri (my rigger) through, and it came up with everything from soup to nuts, including the fact he wears glasses. Any suggestions? Mary stop crying already. You're soggier than I am! Andrea, I'm not resiliant, just stubborn...I wrote it up in between pills, so Deucy couldn't make fun of my grammar and syntax and spelling. LOL!!!! My tongue is still numb, but most of it works, so that's all good. Makes my speech kinda funny, though. For those of you who think I'm strong, maybe I am, maybe not. Can I just add a comment here? I haven't been in a real emergency (thank you God, and yes, I'm knocking wood). Please DON'T JOKE about needing to do one, especially if you're sitting in the front of the plane, and the plane has just done something rather "odd"...this is not healthy. People might pound you a bit when you get down; at the very least you might have some chubby irish chick in your face, who got all geared up in about 2 seconds flat at 8K, reaching for the door and ready to bail.
