Often I see many sides to an issue. Including hypocrasy, which is what I was addressing. In other words, the poster I was responding to is insisting one thing be applicable to Bush, but gives a free pass to the one he favors/prefers. That's all I was getting at. Um, not sure about NY, but if you are expected to abide by policies, here at least you need to know what they are. The only way to know what they are is to get a copy, and read it. The only way to prove that you knew what they are and violated them anyway is to have a signed receipt for a copy of the policies... If they won't give you the policies, how the heck are you supposed to know what they are? And was there any mention made about the fact you filed a police report? That may be the clincher at this point. I don't think they can fire you for being a victim of a crime.... I'd talk to the Labor Board - not an attorney, but the Feds. Equal Housing or something like that...I know they carry a great deal of weight here in CA, and I suspect they would carry the same there. You may still get fired, but it's a way to get any $$ owed you. And they may push for you to keep your job. Sorry I'm not more help. Oh, man. That was rough. I am soooooo very sorry. But you know what, the Vet isn't going to euthanize without a reason. Chief was hurting, and now, he's running in the fields and playing. Chief was suffering, and now he's pain free and loving you. Guilt has no part of your life; you did right by Chief, you've always done right by him. Why would this be different? 11 months ago, I had to put down my Bitch Kitty, and she was suffering and so very very tired. But I know she is far better now, and not in pain. I see her in my dreams, I feel her near me, and I know she is better now. As much as it still hurts, it was the right choice. And I say the same to you. I was that student....spinning out of control, no idea where I was because the jumpsuit was flapping over the alti, spinning too fast to see the JM or camera guy's alti... The video shows my jm coming in, and catching my leg. We still spun. He lost his grip, and I came close to clocking him several times. The vid guy is an AFFer, and someone who I had jumped with before. I have no idea if he would've come in, but I suspect he would've - the vid shows him moving towards me. Then I waved off, took a moment, waved again, and still spinning, dumped very high, something around 8ishK. No line twists - miracle that was (I think my jm had gotten his hand on my leg just before I pulled and tossed.). I may not be the most competent jumper, and I certainly am not answering for any AFF rated person, but my instruction was: 1. If you don't know where you are, pull. 2. If you are uncomfortable/scared with what's happening, pull. What are the students taught? That would be what I would consider. Actually, a more pertinent question would be do they offer/cover vasectomies (which prevents conception) v. viagara which makes someone able to have sex and thereby conceive a child. Agreed. But we hear it all the time. Even on these boards. I'm not there, so I don't know, but I think a whole group gettin' together and "confronting" her will do far more harm than good. Think about it this way....if YOU were confronted by lots (more than 2) people, wouldn't you be defensive? I would. Especially if they're people who I don't respect (for whatever reason, right or wrong.). My suggestion: go to the DZO and/or Safety and Training officer. Tell them there is a serious issue. Really let them know that it's important for eveyone's safety that this jumper be talked to. Tell them to talk to her...after all, it's likely they have more jumps than she, and since that's her position, she will probably respect them rather than get defensive. Just my thoughts...
