  1. I was wondering if there was a way, or you might consider, changing the default Append Signature and send email notification boxes to be unchecked when you post a message or reply instead of checked? I know that I never use this option and think it would be nice if everytime I posted to not have to uncheck those boxes...
  2. I agree with you, except for this... Now the democrats and critics of GWB can't use the whole Mission Accomplished thing in their arsenal. The Republicans want the next months to sway the votes of ther undecided, and this is a great way to earn some points from the people stupid enogh to not see right through it.
  3. -Bush said he had an exit plan... Can't implement it, and made the mistake of taking us there in the first place... But none of that plan was his... It was all from other people who misguided him since the day before he took office -Bush doesn'ty have the support of World Leaders, the UN, Nato, etc... Saturated foreign relations... It's safe to assume that the world's opinion of the US and GWB has declined greatly over the past 4 years... seen any rallies lately? -Bush's plan comes straight from god... Take away women's rights, intertwine church and state, don't fund any aids related organization unless it preaches abstinance... blah, blah, blah... Good thing God is here to lead the way. -Trendy
  4. Book release vs Presidential Election? Tough call on that one...
  5. NOTE TO ANVIL: Looks like thats as arguable as anything having to do with the current administration and the last 4 years of US History... (I copied and pasted your statement into google and these are some of the results0 http://slate.msn.com/id/2076134/ http://money.cnn.com/2002/08/07/news/economy/bush_cheney/ So whether He took office "in" a recession, or it began right after he took office, do you actually think anything he's doing is helping the economy? Plus, how about the rest of it??? Is it all made up and full of Demokkkratic lies? Or do you want to sit here and squabble over the start of the recession?
  6. Well, it turns out that George said Mission Accomplished, and hung the big sign on the deck of the aircraft carrier because retired Tommy Franks made him say it. Thank god Tommy came out and said that so no one can criticise George for the media shot on the carrier, right? Just in time for the elections. George said it over a year ago, and all of a sudden, Tommy Franks wants to come out and clear the air with the truth behind that bold statement's origin. http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/08/09/franks.mission.ap/index.html That's my fault' WASHINGTON (AP) -- Retired Gen. Tommy Franks tried to take the blame Monday for President Bush's much-criticized comments declaring an end to major combat in Iraq more than a year ago. "That's my fault, that George W. Bush said what he said on the first of May of last year, just because I asked him to," said Franks, former commander of forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Less than two months after the invasion of Iraq, Bush flew to a U.S. aircraft carrier and declared an end to major combat with a banner proclaiming "Mission Accomplished" in the background. The event, Bush's words and the banner have been repeatedly criticized and mocked since that first day of May 2003. The Iraq occupation turned more violent, American deaths continued to mount and U.S. forces failed to find weapons of mass destruction, a main rationale for the war. "I wanted to get the phase of military operation over as quickly as I could, because a lot of countries on this planet had said as soon as that major stuff is over, we'll come in and help with all of the peacekeeping," Franks said. "On the first of May when Bush did what he did, I was proud of him because he did what I, as the commander, had asked him to do," Franks said in an appearance at the National Press Club. "So if there's a mistake there, it's mine, not a plot. So I thought I'd share that with you. " Franks noted that the Bush administration has had limited success persuading other nations to participate in Iraq. Of some 160,000 foreign forces there now, about 140,000 are American. You gotta love this administration... George must really be kicking himself for all the times he''s been mislead by his own people
  7. so if you're a low timer (relatively), and he's a low timer, and he's going straight at you really quickly, why not just go to your belly to avoid the collision? when there's more than 2 people in the jump it's not the best alternative, but if it's only a 2 way, that's the safest thing you can do at that moment... You're going to slow down to avoid the collision much quicker than if you try to side slide, ball up or speed up.
  8. For the sake of an objective discussion, which all these "Bash the candidate" discussions end up being, here's Bush's resume... http://www.thousandreasons.org/resume.html George Walker Bush Past work experience: I ran for congress and lost. Let's not resort to the old, it was Clinton's fault bullshit, ok ladies?
  9. One of the roles of the UN is to assist nations in election processes... What's so sickening if they do it here, too? Seriously, if the dems win the republicans will whiiiinnnnee, and if the rebuplicans win, the dems will whiiiinne. If it's a tie, forget about it. Why not have an independent group monitoring the elections? It's all about a fair democracy where people's votes are counted, right? Why shouldn't it be monitored? What are you so afraid of?
  10. That's funny... I could have sworn that you just wrote that the liberal left is unpatriotic. Quite a generalization. Guage one's degree of patriotism on whether or not they are republican, democratic, right, or left. I wonder which course in college taught you that?
  11. Get real, broh' JUST TO CLARIFY... I was responding "Get Real Broh" to the assertion that Bush was wrong on his estimation, not Kerry's fluctuating opinion on the war... When Bush said he wouldn't request more money, there were plenty of articles saying that it wouldn't be enough money and that he would have to ask for more... There's no way that the brilliant minds of the current administration could have been so wrong in their mathematics... His statement that they wouldn't request more money until after Oct 1st was unrealistic, and pretty much dishonest. Saying you won't do something and then doing it is a flip flop. Translation: Legitimate Flip Flop on the part of Bush... There are plenty of people who are constantly changing their minds on whether or not we should have gone to war in Iraq... The fact that practically all our reasons going to war have been shot down is one reason, plus the financial costs, and severed international ties, plus the many, many casualties, both civilian and military. I bet that there are plenty of people in our government who have also changed their minds about it... So what? Does that make Kerry less of a leader? Not in my opinion. It's safe to assume that every single person in the entire population of the world has flip flopped about something at some point in time...
  12. A little over the top, huh? Boycott James Taylor, Pearl Jam, J-5... Bruce Springsteen! He's like Mr. America. Same thing with Cougar. These bands relate to everyday, average people much more than GWB does. What a silly thing to do... boycott a musician or a band because they're part of a tour that supports the democratic party... sheesh
  13. Maybe this group should also get together and split some tunnel time? If it ever comes together, let me and T know and we'll totally fly down from nyc FFFC is a great idea.
  14. Wait a second guys... I thought we had already determined that Bush can't be a flip flopper since that's the term given to Kerry. Now I'm totally confused! This one went by a little quiet, didn't it?
  15. I don't know Tuna, you're pretty funny, too! Will is definitely funnier, though
  16. Rawa... Lightest, most comfortable (easily arguable), i think it costs less than the others... I think that most people who fly with a Rawa feel that they found the best helmet on the market. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or not...
  17. It's interesting how different one's approach is to a discussion when they've either been in the military, or attended college, or both.
  18. I think it would be interesting to see if the people who blatantly insult and name call would actually do it to somebody face to face. I doubt it! I won't be at Rantoul, but would love it if someone would be so kind as to video any spat that may come about and send it over to me... especially if it's to see someone's reaction when they are called mindless sheep, or to find out that aren't part of the open minded, intelligent part of the population. That would be very interesting, indeed
  19. Tuna, you're so funny! Here, so you can compare flippers! What does KATN stand for anyway? You don't actually think that Bigfoot is real, do you? Ha ha ha too funny!
  20. Let me guess, you didn't read the whole thing, right? So here's some of the second half of the article... Please take a moment to review it. http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ8OVF&b=42263 Feeling me, now?
  21. My bad... all these must have been taken out of context, right? Geesh. http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ8OVF&b=42263 http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/3/7/213753/1954 http://www.democrats.org/specialreports/top10_flipflops/ http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2004/06/05/steadfast_bushs_amazing_flip_flops/ http://www.compassiongate.com/promises/ http://www.matthewyglesias.com/archives/002709.html http://wampum.wabanaki.net/archives/000820.html Heck, you can use google just as well as the next guy... It was tough to make this point...
  22. Go here to watch the clip (or click the link from Quade)... Very simple process. What exactly do you mean by "there I go again. The only way you can make a point (or try to) is to take the comments out of context!!!). What exactly are you referring to in this? Do you mean me specifically, or are you placing me in some "group" who share a different opinion politically than you do? Try to be a little more specific, ok? I made my point by posting 4 different sources of how Bush has flip flopped or been totally inaccurate... That is actually a great way to make a point. How's about a little research into the topic before you speed respond. Nonetheless, thank you for your opinion.
  23. I had the pleasure of spending 3 hours in the tunnel this past weekend... 2 of them were with our Freefly instructor, Joao Tambor (joaotambor@yahoo.com). I have to be honest and say that I learned so much in the tunnel with Joao, and want to suggest to everyone that they get in the tunnel with an instructor, and enhance their skills. He has around 700 hours in the tunnel and over 5000 jumps. Sean MacCormac (New School Flight Instructor) was also there and hopped in with us for about 10 minutes. I have also flown with Juliana and Fabian Se, who are also excellent coaches. Besides from tunnel flying's positive impact on your skydiving skills, it's incredibly fun to fly in the tunnel... I mean, where else can you run up and down the walls? I hear that Spaceland Anomaly have been known to organize insomnia camps there too!
