First malfunction: Brake mal on AFF 3, did not chop took high speed crosswind landing (almost into a hanger and tree) .. Not my pack job. Second Mal: Jump 58, line over spinning on back, resulted in reserve ride. .. Not my pack job. Third Mal: Jump 76, line over, I had pulled high and it wasnt spinning so I messed with it and somehow managed to clear it.. No chop. My pack job. Fourth Mal: Jump 94, step through, didnt like way canopy was performing, brakes didnt feel right / felt sloppy, resulted in reserve ride. My pack job. I'm on a role with no mals now FGF #??? Big thing for me, being that for some reason I have horrible luck with gear in almost everything I do whether it be in the water or the air.. But my first analog alti failed when I was real low jump #s, it just stopped.. Falling, 8k, falling, still 8k, wtf, pull. Atleast if my neptune fails, it should be pretty damn obvious, either an error code or a blank screen.. Doesnt help you much, but atleast you know it's all jacked up! FGF #??? I miss the sky... Pacific SKydiving Center was always closing early when I was there, but when they were open I enjoyed the quick flights to altitude on the king air over the slow plane at skydive hawaii... I did however like Skydive Hawaii's atmoshphere slightly better, and when I was there they did a couple fun jumper only sunset loads two nights a week, those were always a good time... Have fun there, it's an awsome place to jump.. If you choose one, I choose Skydive Hawaii. FGF #??? I miss the sky... It took me awhile to come to decide how I would handle this, especially since I had stopped jumping RSL around jump 120ish, but I decided and currently jump my camera (in a FF2) with a Skyhook.. Andy (former owner of Skydive San Diego) is back! As many of us know, Andy turned Skydive San Diego into what it is today, and now he has started on a new project! There is not much to look at right now, but you will not find a better vibe at any other DZ. The staff is very professional, new jumpers and tandems are treated as part of the group. I have already taken one of my friends there for his first jump and he had a great time, right now I would not take my friends anywhere else in SoCal. For all of you jumpers, chances are that the weather here is nice when it's crap in san diego so come on out! Although no grass yet, Andy has put alot of work into the landing area (automated sprinkler system, planting grass, etc.) .. Expect a HUGE grass landing area soon! He is also building a *HUGE* swoop pond which is sure to interest the best HP canopy pilots. The 206 being flown there is pretty fast for the style of aircraft it is, the Pilot seems to be absolutly enjoying flying skydivers and is a very experienced pilot, I'd have to say he is my favorite jump pilot that I've gotten to know so far. After your jump, repack and hang out in the AIR CONDITIONED hanger, one of TWO hangers which is going to be available to the jumpers. I look forward to many great things from this DZ, and I could not help but notice that the runway has lights and the airport has multiple flood lights around which will make a great place for night jumps, ... andy, nudge hint hint.. ;) I am proud to call Skydive Imperial my new home DZ.

DVD burners (or cameras) probably won't do too well in freefall and with multiple-G canopy openings... DVD recorded media is harder to work with for video editing (IMO), and I think that DV has a higher raw quality than the DVD camcorders, I think the DVD cameras compress the video as they write it. Another one from dublin, in the CASA, guy next to me was noticed to have a PC that was hanging a good ways out of his rig, so he asked me to stuff it back in there... Not seeing any big deal with that, I did. As he stood up getting ready to run out the door it was noticed that not only had his PC come out but now the bridal was hanging almost completely out, he had been sitting on it or something and I didnt notice it, the plane was pretty packed. 1: Make sure your gear is good before you get in the plane! 2: Make sure you dont snag your gear on anything in the plane to cause your handles to get pulled etc. 3: If someone needs a PC pushed back in, check the bridal too (doh!) I've chopped the straps on both my PC350 and PC1000... Kind of annoying how they make the straps detachable on one end and you have to cut the other FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

Micro$oft has been doing that for along time... I hate that the program comes up all the time, but I have it disabled so it wont login.... Best thing to do is us Trillian for everything, it logs me into ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and AOL all at the same time, dont have to have the overhead of 4 different messengers running all the time FGF #??? And this is a good thing... This is my vacation, I dont work (which packing is friggin work) on my vacation And then there is the day (not decided which day yet) that I'm gonna see how many jumps I can do in one day, with both of my rigs, ... Get rig, jump, land, repeat, as fast as manifest / packers will allow for as long as I can take (or until I run out of money) ... I can definately see changing the cypress if the landing area is significantly different altitude to the takeoff area, ... But I cant imagion doing it because the land AROUND the landing area is higher.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... Most of my jumps are at a DZ which is surrounded by some pretty big hills... If I had a cypress fire on some of those jumps I doubt it would be a great day, but I have never seen anyone offset their cypress and I definately would never see myself setting a cypress offset before every jump I do.. It's just one of the things we accept, especially if you go on a jump which takes you into the higher ground We did however have a slightly higher average for pulling altitudes than I've seen at some other DZs.. Only a couple times I've seen people suck it down to 2500 feet. If a visitor said they were going to pull low sometimes you'd hear the locals tell them that mabey they should re-consider when at that DZ.. FGF #??? I miss the sky...
