ID theft costs me thousands of dollars.. That shit blows, consider yourself lucky its just a phone account. My incident happened while I was out at sea, and for 3 months I had no idea that my bank accounts had been completely wiped out (over $8k) and closed! All my bills were setup to pay automatic, and not a single bill of mine except my car was payed for 3 months, my car was on an allotment direct from my paycheck, so it couldnt be affected.. The bank gave me back all but about $1500, which I was just fed up and took it, didnt wanna deal with it anymore, and then ofcourse there was my destroyed credit which has cost me since.. Got most of the credit back, but it's still a little lower than it should be. The sad thing about all of it is that I knew who did it, was able to get proof that she did it, and she got away with it.. The Agencies and Banks don't think it is worth persuing such a "small $ amount" crime.. Sickning. FGF #??? I miss the sky... Sorry to hear that you are leaving, but I'm happy for you at the same time.... To find something more exciting than all of this is really one hell of a statement... I'm happy that I got to meet / hang out with you at Dublin, hell I think we were even on a couple jumps together, ... I'm sure that we will all see you hanging around somewhere again, and until then I send you my best of wishes knowing that your life has just taken a step up to a new high. Congratulations on your family and your decision. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

She was a really great person, and she will be terribly missed.. Blue Skies, Fly Free Forever Shannon...

Still can't say that I understand why anyone needs a student cypress... I know of DZs that use expert cypress in all rigs, including student rigs.. Makes sense to me, one less thing you have to worry about, would have eliminated this whole incident.. You either need a cypress to save your ass or you dont, whether you are a student or licensed... Picture quality when filming video is not as good as it would be if the same camera was actually in the "Memory" mode.. It would be possible to make a device which allowed for video and pictures through the LANC port (CamEye 3?), but I know of no such device that is setup for ease of use during skydiving yet. The quality of pictures is still much better than doing a frame grab, your just not going to get the large high quality pictures from the camera when recording video.. Would be pretty sweet to have a bite switch added to the CamEye for taking pictures though... Even if the quality isnt the same

Requst for Beginner video camera advice

I have both the 350 and the 1000, jumped both of them in my FF2 helmet. The 1000 gets awsome footage, but I also found that the 350 does a pretty damn good job too... IMO the 350 has gotten better footage than most of the other PC series that I've seen used at the dz. (other than the 1000 ofcourse). Either of these cameras would be a great choice IMO, and the 350 will be a bit cheaper. FGF #??? I miss the sky... The problem with people hosting their own files on their home connections is that most home internet connections have PAINFULLY SLOW connections, we would be spending hours downloading videos... It would be a nice option for those of us who do have high speed hosting though to help you take a load off and host our own videos with a transparent link on your directory. You could also allow your users to mirror some of your files, however this tends to be a pain for the end user when they have to choose servers and find out that the alloted quota has been exceeded.. something that I'm sure would happen with many mirrors of a site like yours -
I also really liked the book "Deep Survival: Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why" .... Not exactly skydiving related (although skydiving is mentioned) but it goes into "risky" sports, and why some of us handle things better than others... Really good read. FGF #??? I miss the sky... Hey its not the rest of Americas fault that they were not born into families that could afford to send them to college. They could have pulled themselves up by their boot straps. They should have gotten a better job and saved and invested so they could be comfortable in their old age. Why support vets.. they knew what they were getting into when they joined the military. Can you think of any other cliches I missed?? I think you missed the fact that alot of these "fucked up" vietnam vets that are on the streets got pulled from their normal lives with good futures and FORCED into the military, have you forgotten that? These people fight for your country and you still continue to spit on them, even when it was not their choice. You have other vets, even volunteer vets, which may not have compeltely known what they are getting into.. War does fucked up things to people, things that most will never understand. I feel that it is our responsibility to do everything we can to help them when they need it. But, go ahead and feel how ever you want, it is afterall a lot easier to just turn your head and look the other way... It's ok. FGF #??? I miss the sky... But who's to say which programs the money will be taken from, I promise you it won't be congresses retrirement budget which provides 1 term seat warmers with $15,000+ per month retirement income! We are about to have to replace our countries debt clock because our debt has almost grown to more than what it can display, almost $10,000,000,000,000 ... A new tax cut, which is being referred to as a "long-sought election year victory" by Bush and his GOP allies on capitol hill, is flawed to say the least. (edited to add that this has not fully passed yet, just the house ) Two questions that I have are 1. Is a tax cut what this country needs right now? 2. If so, who should benefit from these tax cuts? The country is at war, like it or not. War costs ALOT of money. This is not the time, IMO, to be taking money away from the US Budget. We, as US Citizens and taxpayers, want tax cuts anyway... The tax cuts which have just passed the house today help out the citizens of our country who make the most money. The tax cuts favor the rich. taxpayers who make more than $1 million per year in income can expect to save $42,000 per year in taxes, an amount that is more than many people I know even make in a year. How about the average taxpayer? As a tax payer that makes around $50,000 per year, I can expect to save a whopping $46.. Whoopty fucking do.. Just think of all the things I can do with that. IMO they should just keep the damn money and try to do something good with it. Yes, I know deep down that it just gets wasted by the gov't with the way they spend on stupid shit, but that's a whole nother rant. Take the savings that the rich are going to receive (and probably not even notice in many cases) and give them to the lower class income earners that need them, or just keep the $70 billion dollars that this will take away from the government during the next 5 years and do something useful like help those in our country who are deserving and less fortunate, and no I do not mean the welfare cases who choose to be less fortunate, yet another rant... It's the thought that we pass things like this for a political agenda (election year) and the fact that they blow off whether or not it's good for the country all so that they can show us / give us what we think we want / save their seats in office is disappointing.. More disappointing than that is that it will probably help them because we let it. Just shows that we are a greedy nation and as long as it increases the bottom dollar in our pocket we really dont give a ratts ass what it does to our country or how it could help others / be put to better use. Whats going to suffer for this? Who knows, could be anything from School funding to taking care of our aging population to saying fuck a pay raise for the military.. The money is going to come from somewhere that probably needs it, people must understand this.. FGF #??? I miss the sky... May hate them, but I sometimes REALLY REALLY wish we had a super walmart.. I'm still amazed that there is really NOTHING open 24 hours here when you need something.. You can goto a grocery store at 3am, however sometimes I realize that I need something like a power strip or whatever, ... After 9pm here I'm SOL. FGF #??? I miss the sky... OK, considering that I was there, I will state what exactly was and was not done at this hospital. 1: She was taken in an ambulance, she refused any IV 2: At the hospital she refused ALL needles with the exception of Blood Work, there was *NO* meds given to here via needle. NONE. 3: She was passing out and going into minor ceasures, she couldnt remember what her birthday was or the name of her father for awhile.. They gave here a CAT scan and said that she had nothing but a broken nose, 4: they did imply that I had probably beat her up more than once when i was right there.. Annoying to say the least, and I guess I can almost understand, but it seems to me that they would at least ask this when I wasn't around?? 4: She was given 1 (mabey 2) meds orally, ... She checked herself out against the doctors wishes, I was finally ok with this because they just didnt seem to be doing anything at all.. We were there for a long time. There was not that many meds given to her, no IVs were inserted.. Basiclly, they are all full of shit. FGF #??? I miss the sky... Some of us enjoy low altitude skydives, it's got a greater pucker factor when you leave the plane at 2000 ft, scariest jump I probably ever did for door fear. I think that takes more balls than 14k feet FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't. -
I'm used to being charged anywhere from $5 - $7, but I always tip so it's a bit more, and if someone only charges me $5 I pay atleast $7 ... But that's just me. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.

You got it, he's going to be doing one skydive every 2.4 minutes for 24 hours... This is made possible (mabey) with a team of people, basicly runs out of used gear and into the plane while putting new gear on without stopping, then it's up to 2100 feet, out do it again... Be bad ass if he pulls it off. FGF #??? I miss the sky... There are 10 types of people in the world... those who understand binary and those who don't.
