Some skydivers spend a lot of money on training. An Airspeed Tunnel Camp costs $1100. That's 60 minutes of coached tunnel time, plus some other stuff. Sixty one-minute skydives at $18 each is $1080. Sixty coached skydives? I dunno. A LOT. And I couldn't do 60 coached skydives in 3 days. Skydiving is for cool people only

Since you did one with me a few weeks ago at SGC? Folks, don't let freeflyers be floaters on RW exits -- they'll spread their legs and take you head down without even realizing it. I don't know, but I'm on the Airspeed Tunnelcamp mailing list, and they have two camps in June that they say MIGHT be in Orlando, or MIGHT be held somewhere else.... So I'm assuming there's one coming very soon. Skydiving is for cool people only

HH, I'd happily read any forum you provided, but I just think regional forums would move so slow it really wouldn't be worth it. I like keeping all the sloppiness in one big messy forum, personally. I completely hate this question. Its smarmy pickup-line feeling aside, the assumption seems to be that if you COULD be with someone, you WOULD. Therefore, if you're single -- what's wrong with you? I've seen two people get permanently kicked off a DZ. One was for yelling at the owner's wife (oops) and the other was for physically bullying someone -- on the climb to altitude. I've seen someone blacklisted too, but that was politics. I'm thinking all of these are permanent, with no slack. Skydiving is for cool people only

Hey now! Casch, pickings are pretty slim when it comes to skydiving books. One good one is "Skydiving in 8 Days" by Miles Clark. It's a first-person account of going through AFF, and it's a nice read. Kind of outdated thought -- early 80s. Everybody jumped Racers. Otherwise, well...there aren't too many skydiving books with plots. Skydiving is for cool people only
