  1. The requirements are differant for all 3 I believe. Access - 100 jumps (current) Prodigy - wingsuit requirements Matter - ?? anyone know? (guessing between 50-100).
  2. I'm on high speed cable and downloading at 23 KB a second...not sure why the site is always slow during the day.
  3. I think there's an old 218 floating through the classifieds. I'm jumping a tri 135 hybrid now for the CRW jumps, but the other guys have lightnings and want to get serious with the jumps, so I'm hoping to find one quick.
  4. I've been looking for a 126 since last summer. Almost had a few, but they fell through for one reason or another.
  5. everyone can I've been told that they are good WS canopies as they are fairly docile. That's what I have and plan on using when I get to make my first jumps (and on).
  6. Thanks for the info. I just recieved the GPS as a gift for my birthday and opened it up and went "D'oh...wrong model". But one advantage is the tracking based on lap times. Start it right before I leave and can do a lap point under canopy to help with trimming it. What type of altimiter does the Forerunner have? It appeard to be semi-accurate for a few key points (like opening and u-turn of the track). I only made one jump with it and it picked up maybe 15 seconds into it.
  7. how long does it take the 201 for you to get a signal? I had a strong signal next to the pilot (C-182) and then moved it away for a minute...took about 30 seconds to get it back (and that included flight time). Any recommendations for keeping it?
  8. So what are the takes on this suit? Worth purchasing before I have the jumps in for a wingsuit? I've been jumping smoke pants and having a blast with those, but am looking for something better.
  9. yeah...sure that wasn't directed towards me This is the first time I've seen someone ask/respond to this question, which I've always wondered about. Pretty much everything just says "Have 250 jumps in 18 months or 500 jumps", but doesn't address skill level or types of jumps they have done.
  10. IMO, skydiving is one of the wierdest sports with the requirements. They require X to get to Y. Like freefall time for your D License...but what happens to the CRW people? I'm joining a CRW team and will most likely have the 200 jumps by June no problem...but will have around 100 CRW jumps (got a bunch now). I'll still be doing a ton of RW and some FF, but how does this take into account? What about people just doing hop and pops to get the jump numbers. I know the instructor usually evaluates the student in the FFC, but it sounds like people are saying other skills need to be met (which can happen for some around jump 100...an extreme...and others never). What's the thinking from the BMI/PFI's?
  11. So I'm waiting to get the jumps in to make my first jump...looks like most people agree that the greater risks on the older suits have been minimized, but there are still some. But most agree that instruction is key. How does this affect the perspective of number of jumps to take the first course? Still the same? Changing in the near future?
  12. I've got about 12 CRW jumps in and never really thought about this. I'm more of a rock climber and have been plagued with shoulder injuries. The riser movement has some of the similar movement in climbing (downward pull), but climbing rips your shoulders apart more...especially steep routes and bouldering. But I can definitly see injuries coming somewhat. I would do lat pulldowns/pullups for strenght/endurance (I've sat on front risers for 3 minutes...not fun). As to injury prevention, check out the following http://www.climbinginjuries.com/Shoulder.htm
  13. shows you how much I know did you get a stock size? I might end up getting a pair...let me know how they are after you jump them.
  14. I've NEVER downloaded a jump from a protrack before, but why is there such a big spike in your jump? You go from 140 to 85, then back up to 133....anyone know why this happens? I did my first sub 100 avg last weekend. Top speed was 112. Top half was 97 MPH...went longer then I thought, so I had to stop at 6K over the DZ till I pulled at 4K...second half was 99 mph (all in a semi-baggy RW bootie suit). Let me know how the pants are...I was going to jump a PF tracking suit 2 weeks ago, but the weather sucked.
  15. Got mine about 1 month ago and love it. It's my first free fly suit, but I tried a bunch before. Other people at my DZ said it looks good too. Great customer service too. Everyone else was a 6-14 weeks to get one. Purchased a stock size that fit better than custom suits did.
