It's b/c the html tag has "Dropzone.com: [Message Title]" in it... nothing else is viewable. If they change it to remove the subject from the title tag, it will jsut day "Dropzone.com".

why is that interesting they are two differant machines? Most big sites have tons of web servers and database servers. Web servers are load balanced and database servers are generally clustered. Do you think one server could handle the traffic?

Come to Maytown. Alan has a tri-hybrid that will work perfect (I started with it, as did he).

my first rig cost me $1,000 2 years ago. It's an old Vector with a swift reserve and a PD-190. I bought a new AAD and put it in (knowing I could resell/swap it out). I downsized with it until I bought a new "freelfy" friendly rig (used for $1,300...killer deal). There's no reason not to buy used. I contemplate snagging another rig for wingsuit jumps just b/c there are some complete rigs floating around for under $1,500 with a cypress installed.

Didn't know that, thanks. I'm doing well. Some of my results never got faxed to my doctors back home, so they ran some tests to just double check. But I haven't been in any pain for weeks. It will take a little time to rehab, but I think I'll walk away "clean" from this one (and quick).

Phoenix-Fly Tracking Suit Speeds and Body Position
stratman05 replied to mbondvegas's topic in Wing Suit Flying
the forerunner sucks. I got 1 jump that gave me 10 seconds of "accurate" data. I wouldn't trust anything off that. Definitly get the foretrex 201. It's amazing how much better it is. -
hey...it took 4 days for me to make it on here...people are slacking BIG TIME!

vid just shows the wrap and one second of me spinning VERY fast...it's nothing like any of Chico's videos.

go to the incidents forum and read the thread about the CRW injury (it was me). I landed with my main and reserve wrapped around each other. There was a third canopy partialy inflated. I spun and hit the ground hard, but am in good shape now all considering. I wouldn't even think of trying it. The guy at bridge day is lucky...as I am. If anyone wants to think about trying, please fly out and visit me for a little. Hopefully I can talk some sense in to you

WOW! The pictures were great, but this is just unreal.
-
so what's it gonna take to get a picture or a little drawing of this position?
-
ZP pilot chutes also like to "bounce" around when in the burble. I do a lot of CRW (4 way rotation comp) and run into the same issues with that. A weak pitch puts it in the burble and then you start looking around wondering why it's not deploying. Thats when off heading openings happen. the other issue (I think discussed), is when the PC doesn't come off straight back, it will pull to one side. A longer bridle does help, but as Chuck and Scott have said many times, a strong pitch is all that's needed.

the resale value of wingsuits is much higher than spouses these days.

zippers break and get caught. would not be fun to have the zipper malfunction and the canopy at the same time.

I think he's talking about the s-fly access and not the s-fly expert. I think most agree the s-fly expert is a fine suit.
-
The wing also flaps on deployment. I had more than one time where it was in the way at pull time...it just made me fish around for it a little more, but wasn't as easy as they make it sound.

I put 6 jumps on one and got better performance out of my tracking suit. It was a wierd body position to hit the spot. I planned on buying one, but put the jumps in and took a FJC then...I would NOT buy an access, unless you can get it dirt cheap (under $100).

The prodigy flew differant that I thought. But I a bunch of jumps on a homemade tracking suit (a few with a wingsuit instructor) and the prodigy flew me more than I thought it would. The leg wing is a lot bigger, which is where the drive and lift come from. It's twichy when you max it out. I would take it out of a plane. If you can't get stable out of a plane, then don't jump. What are you gonna do when you stick your leg wing out and go head down, or end up rolling around and spinning? While we don't have anything to gain, we have everything to lose. It will not look good to see someone doing their first jump deciding to go from a ballon and get hurt (or go in).

yah...then again, it might just all turn to brown.

Can I have first dibs on your suit?

nice! Last spring, they ran an article in parachutist about one of our pilots and us doing CRW. One of the guy's wife sits next to the pilot on a 182 and takes pics out the doors. He's got it so he can fly pretty slow by us to take amazing pics (we jokingly use it to inspect our canopies). We're gonna try some stuff in the spring that should be fun. Will present some good photo ops

I made a ton of jumps on a tri-135 hybrid with others on a lightning. I did 2 ways and 4 way stacks (and I think I closed a diamond). The tri would wouldn't dive down on front risers, but I could still get there. I don't think we really had problems with 2 ways.

Technical advice: Phoenix Fly or homemade track suit tensioning system
stratman05 replied to leroydb's topic in Archive
I played around with differant positions on them. The key is to stiffen the fabric to reduce drag, and also create a larger surfice area. I tried the back and it didn't help really, other than pulling the crotch down. I started at the tounge of my shoes and then moved them towards the toe-box. the toe-box is where I noticed the best shape (IMO).
