  1. where did you see 100 jumps for the prodigy?...
  2. I mount it on my wrist. I found a setting that has pace(running) vs speed(biking). I think my problem is that I switched it to pace for running. I have used it before with semi-decent results on biking (guessing). I also went in and raised all the paces for sprint/run/jog to 50 mph to 99 mph. I am using these for tracking jumps right now too. I'm in a cessna. I usually have the person next to the pilot hold it till they call door, then throw it on and get next to the pilot after they exit. thanks for the info though...I think it might be that setting.
  3. I think that is for the foretrex. I can't find anything for the forerunner like that. Where do I go to change the intervals for recording? I'm thinking if I change my speeds in the custom profile, that will help more.
  4. I got the forerunner 201 by mistake. I haven't had great results with it yet (one reason or another). I think there are some settings I need to switch between when I jump and run.
  5. the guys I jump with all jump lightnings loaded between 1.35 and 1.45 (higher for rotation). I think Wendy listed the range for sequential. For rotations, I'm thinking the triathlon's are actually better (but what do I know). They can definitly dive better at a lower wing loading than lightnings. Check out videos of the russians and you'll see them work their magic.
  6. 5.10 has terrible quality...I've had too many pairs of shoes (climbing included) rip apart. I'm a big fan of Vibram rubber (La Sportiva)...haven't been too happy with Scarpa, but they do use Vibram too.
  7. The Ranch, in New York, has the Access. Only place in the US (as far as I know). Wasn't a fan of the suit at all though. Real akward to fly. I get better performance out of my home made tracking suit.
  8. hm...broken arms/shoulders were the *best* results throught the wings. the GS1 has a bigger wing profile than the V1/V2/S6 etc...but they are all *connected* to the body. This has a gap it looks like from mid back to the connection point.
  9. With the wing connecting so far down the leg, are there any gaps when going to deploy? I know more than one camera man who has pulled the PC through the wing. But it looks like maybe half the wing is connected as part of the body (feed wings through the harness, then connect the rest to the leg, which would minimize the gap.
  10. hm...I thought I was playing Where's Waldo for a while. Download the picture and zoom in. Is it a single connection like the Prodigy?
  11. I'll second the PC issue. I used Chuck's PC from his triathlon and got some hesitation on my lightning. Ordered a new 30 " ZP, and it has worked perfect. I also had the same issue on my collapsible PC. I would get 2-3 seconds before it would pull the pin and have hard openings. Replaced it and it's been great ever since.

good to hear...wasn't sure if it was everyone.

    Tracking suit.

    *cough* http://www.bird-man.com/docs/BirdManNews06.pdf
  14. talked to Martin via PM...suit sounds like it's gonna be amazing when you factor everything in.
  15. got any more info on that suit? Seems they picked up where the S-Fly access left off. I flew the access and it was OK, but wasn't what I expected.
  16. Keep in mind the ActiveX issue with IE and JS. Next month, Microsoft is flipping the switch (I already installed the patch). Users have to click on a flash menu to "Activate" it, then they can do whatever. To get around it, use a javascript function that replaces the innerHTML of a div with the needed flash (document.write does not work).
  17. hm...This is gonna be deja vu for me... last summer I wanted to buy a lightning for CRW and there were a few on the market, but I bought a house...took 7 months to find a used one after that. I know the second I start wingsuit flying, all the *good* used suits will be gone...tempted to almost just buy one now while I can...but that would be torture
  18. I can no longer edit my own posts.... And why are you guys automatically hot linking the words r0ck cl!mbing to rockclimbing.com
  19. http://www.activeankle.com/ Go pick up active ankle's and wear them...They saved me when I played volleyball. I had a bad sprain and went out rock climbing in them no problem.
  20. I think the sail will help. It just adds more surface area like the pants do for the VKB crew, but not sure how weel. I think the main pitch is the setup can be worn from start to finish (including climb/hike/whatever) and also includes padding and such for any bad situations. But I agree on the $600 price tag. You can make a better setup for cheaper, or buy the another tracking suit setup cheaper. Seems like a cool concept though.
  21. I've got about 4 jumps on my lightning and 3 were perfect and on heading. I was jumping a triathlon hybrid before in a d-bag and would usually end up with line twists most of the time. It's usually from the bag getting the propeller wash (like IAD/Static Line deployments on a C-182). If you are jumping a rig with a d-bag, go out last and give them a few seconds b/c you will open lower.
  22. http://www.urbanclimbermag.tv/videoDetail/639 The North Face just gave us their round of vids (sponsors of the site) and had this one in there...OK quality, but still kinda cool.
  23. you might want to call Parachutist after. It's right next to the news release about the Firebird and Firebird-R
  24. Had I been back home, instead of the west coast, it would have been gone in a minute...but I slacking a little
  25. most of the BMI's/PF's said they are MINIMUM requirements as far as jumps...
