  1. Collins wrote that his Dad told him that he was going to make a 10,000 foot night skydive. His Dad then showed him a wristwatch that with the push of a button turned into a luminous altimeter. I cant find any wristwatch in existence in 1971 that did this. Has anyone seen one that did? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  2. Georger, that is a seriously funny post. Thanks and 73. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  3. Bruce, Just use the big screwdriver under the jacket technique to get the bad guys under control. Duane didnt bumble that one. You don't have to be Dirty Harry. Just use your wits. Ask yourself "what would Ghandi do"? You seem really spun up lately. I think I know why. Take you mind off Musika. She's married. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 4. 377 But I only have one brother and his name is David.... Vicki, We will let Dr. Phil sort it out on daytime TV. I'll bet you could punch Collins's lights out. You up for it? Be careful on that new motorcycle. I've known more jumpers who died on bikes than in skydiving accidents. What's with these 60 page (and less) books? They are more like short stories. Happy Thanksgiving. 377 Happy Thanksgiving, Mark. I promise to be careful and watch other drivers, don't ride crazy and tailgate others (this will be difficult), only ride during the daylight hours, watch for deer and road debris. And.... would I really punch anyone out? OK...I promise to be good while in Tacoma and Ariel. Geez... and if not, will you by my defense attorney? I've got your back Vicki, just be sure to give me enough for a credible self-defense case. Intoxication, insanity, diminished capacity isnt a great defense strategy. I gotta have something to work with. Have fun up there in Cooper country. Really sorry I can't make it this year. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 6. New DBC book coming very soon. Jo will take note of the surname for sure. My Father was D.B. Cooper Paperback– November 29, 2013 [a paltry 60 pages] by Bradley S. Collins(Author) 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  7. I own a copy. Bought it used on Amazon for a couple of dollars. A fun read but not at all convincing. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  8. GreyCop wrote Paul, It would be quite a "struggle" indeed to get to the end of your book if your text reads anything like your posts here. I have a hard time following what you write. It's just not clear writing, at least to me. How many books have you sold? I own most Cooper books but I'm passing on yours, at least at your current price. Blevins and Bruce have given out free copies to Dropzone readers. Very generous of them. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  9. GCop Paul wrote Paul, What makes you think you are entitled to any portion of recoverable assets deriving from the crime? If declaring it here on dropzone establishes your right then why only ask for half? Take it all. You are entitled. Right? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 10. Paul, Care to place a bet on whether the FBI will declare the case solved and closed, identifying KC as DBC? Will they credit you with solving the case? Should they? What odds? Give me numbers not words. Cossey was a betting man. He had Geoff Gray interview him in a casino. Wonder what odds Coss would have taken? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 11. Bruce wrote Don't know Bruce. She was the dark anti matter offsetting Marla at the last DBC symposium. Hard to see, mysterious and very attractive. Hope she covers it. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  12. Jo wrote: Jo, What possible relevance could Doc Severinsen (corrected spelling) have to Norjack? He was best known as Johnny Carson's band leader. Johnny Carson made a freefall jump which was widely televised.http://www.dropzone.com/forum/Skydiving_C1/Skydiving_History_%26_Trivia_F21/Johnny_Carson_%26_Bob_Sinclair_P2733776/ I like Doc Severinsen. He played trumpet on Jimmy Smith's A Walk On the Wild Side. I was crazy about this song when it hit the charts in 1962. I was 12 years old. The song was on Jimmy Smith's "'bashin" album which is the first LP I ever purchased. It's a phenomenal album, no filler garbage, every track is good. The later German remastered copy is really bad, they overused audio compression and totally ruined the dynamic range. So Jo, why beat around the bush? What info did you send to the FBI that you think may be pivotal? I won't be able to attend the symposium this year but sure hope somebody makes a video. I hope Musika Farnsworth covers it. She is an insightful reporter and knows a lot about the tehcnical aspects of parachuting. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  13. BK wrote How many times have we all heard this kind of story at a bar or at a party? Usually some guy trying to impress a woman with tales of secret missions, special ops and great personal danger. Must be tough being James Bond and Edward Snowden rolled into one. Carry on BK. Duty calls. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  14. Georger wrote You spelled it wrong G. The personalities on DZ are actually very distinct. There is no Snow Jr. Nor is there a Lil Georger. I'm worried about Farflung. Apparently nobody here has heard from him. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  15. Decoded, the book. Cute, has replica evidence (e.g. DBCs flight 305 ticket) in little packets. It pretty much a "KC did it" story. Relies heavily on Blevins. I'll try to attach pics later. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.

  17. I know you are new to the forum, and I for one appreciate the logic that you are trying to use. But, you must understand that this carries little to no weight with many here. "Witnesses be damned! Just look at how much the scetch resembles my suspect". or (mostly) how little! The sketch, ahh the sketch. Or sketches, as there have been more than one. It has taken on the quality of a high resolution photograph of Cooper. Every crease or dimple was not only accurately remembered by the eye witnesses, but accurately drawn by the artist. What are the chances that is true? Forget DNA, titanium, bismuth and all that irrelevant stuff. Its all about finding a match to the sketch. Talk to any cop or criminal lawyer about composite sketches. Sometimes they do resemble the bad guy but many times they are so far off that its hard to believe that the witnesses accurately recalled anything about what they saw. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 18. Georger wrote I read it. I didnt see that Mitchell was shown any pics of Vicki's Dad. Did I miss it? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  19. Jim, Its very hard if not impossible to find a DZ that will accomodate old gear being used by a non current jumper trying to get back in the air. Been there, tried that. I had laid off jumping for a bit when my kids were little and then tried to find a DZ that would let me jump my PC and round reserve. No luck. I didn't have to take AFF but I did have to get ground school training on the new gear and do a couple of coached jumps with rental gear. It all worked out fine and didnt cost much. They gave me the coached jumps for just the price of my jump and gear rental was $20 per jump. Still jumping. 45 years in the sport. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 20. Doesn't E. Vicki's dad have that chin characteristic? Why not show Mitchell a lineup of photos? Round up the usual suspects. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  21. I think the "what happened" question posed by R99 was about the weather. I've flown out of Dulles in all kinds of WX, never saw the airport close down for departures. Blevins writes that he was "Almost 16..." Whew, that stew was committing a serious crime Blevins, but I'm guessing you never went to the authorities. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 22. Yeah, its been a long enough exhile. Wish Q would lift Snow's permaban. Rudeness and defiance doesnt deserve a life sentence. Clemency has been granted to worse offenders on this forum. You need to balance harm vs benefit. I think with that scale Snow should be allowed back. I have not seen a better researcher here. I wish Ckret were back too. We had such a resource and lost it due to petty spiteful act. I am still intrigued by Sheridan. If the FBI thought his Nepal alibi was solid why did they interrogate him several times and insist on a DNA sample? 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. 23. R99 wrote Nahhh. I'd bet Blevin's night with the NW stew would outrank anything connected with Norjack or this forum. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
  24. Jo, You look good in that screenshot. Why are you fretting about your appearance? Instead of picking just the right photo of Duane to show to Norjack eyewitnesses, it would be fairer to present a large number of photos of him. I find myself showing that one picture bias when looking at different pictures of Sheridan. I want Tina to look at the one that most closely resembles the FBI sketch. An unbiased approach would show her a variety not just a cherry picked one. 377 2018 marks half a century as a skydiver. Trained by the late Perry Stevens D-51 in 1968.
