The squatters have a very tight knit operation. They only allow familiars inside their click. Homeless people aren't even given scraps to eat. Where are their morals? What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -

Squatters have raised over $750,000. They have banned homeless people from joining their cause. Only students, recently unemployed and those that support their cause are allowed inside zuccotti park. Homeless people are permanently banned from zuccotti park. What happenened to distributing the wealth? What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -
Occupy A Place of Honor for one day!.....not Wall St!

Occupy a Place Of Honor - Click here for article link There will be a big demonstration on Fifth Avenue tomorrow -- but don’t look for the self-obsessed slackers of Occupy Wall Street to be on hand. That’s a pity, for there is much they could learn from the thousands of men and women who will be marching up the avenue when the annual New York City Veterans Day parade kicks off at 11:11 a.m. They could learn about duty, honor, personal responsibility and self-reliance -- traits that come naturally to folks inclined to answer when their country calls, but which have been in obvious short supply at Zuccotti Park from the beginning. The parade will proceed north from 26th Street to 56th Street, and will be preceded by a wreath-laying ceremony at Madison Square Park. For Friday is Nov. 11, Veterans Day, when America honors those who -- at an age comparable to most of those in Lower Manhattan’s new tent city -- answered the summons to duty. They did so, by and large, with little thought for their own concerns. America summoned them -- and they served. Many, sadly, made the ultimate sacrifice. Others carry the scars of battle to this day. But most came home blessedly whole, healthy and happy -- determined to make productive lives for themselves and their families. In this endeavor, most succeeded -- aided in no small way by the discipline and self-confidence they acquired in the service of their country. America today boasts more than 22 million veterans -- a number that utterly dwarfs the rag-tag bands of increasingly violent and always obnoxious “occupiers” that now dot the land. It wouldn’t hurt any of the New York contingent to put aside their drums -- to say nothing of their pretentions -- for the couple of hours it would take to hike over to Fifth Avenue and watch the colors stream by. Again, they might learn something. Everybody else, of course, already gets it. But wouldn’t it be nice if all those who are within walking distance of the parade made the time to stop by to honor heroes? What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -
Which makes you more safe: A restraining order, or a gun?
CameraNewbie replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Always get a restraining order first. While it might not physically protect you, it can at least keep you from getting harassed. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -

Acquittals in Sean Bell's shooting spark outrage
CameraNewbie replied to CameraNewbie's topic in Speakers Corner
CNN Videos From Deborah Feyerick CNN NEW YORK (CNN) -- Nicole Paultre Bell bolted from the courtroom Friday as a judge acquitted three New York City detectives of all charges in the shooting death of her fiance. "I've got to get out of here," Paultre Bell said. Justice Arthur Cooperman was announcing the verdict clearing Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora of manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment in the death of Sean Bell. Detective Marc Cooper was cleared of reckless endangerment. "What we saw in court today was not a miscarriage of justice," the Rev. Al Sharpton said on his radio program. "Justice didn't miscarry," he said. "This was an abortion of justice. Justice was aborted." Sharpton, who has been advising Bell's family, had called for calm Wednesday. Bell, 23, died in November 2006 in a 50-bullet barrage -- 31 fired by Oliver -- hours before he was to be married. Two of his companions were wounded in the gunfire outside a Queens nightclub. Alexander Jason, an expert witness for the defense, sent iReport.com a video demonstrating how quickly Oliver could have fired off 31 rounds, including a pause to reload. The three officers made brief statements more than four hours after the verdict. "I want to say sorry to Bell family for the tragedy," Cooper said. Isnora thanked the judge "for his fair and accurate decision today." Oliver praised Cooperman "for a fair and just decision." That's not how one community leader viewed it. "This case was not about justice," declared Leroy Gadsden, chair of the police/community relations committee of the Jamaica Branch NAACP. "This case was about the police having a right to be above the law. If the law was in effect here, if the judge had followed the law truly, these officers would have been found guilty. "This court, unfortunately, is bankrupt when it comes to justice for people of color." Patrick Lynch, president of the New York Police Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, said "there's no winners; there's no losers" in the case. "We still have a death that occurred. We still have police officers that have to live with the fact that there was a death involved in their case," Lynch said. But, he added, the verdict assured police officers that they will be treated fairly in New York's courts. Many people outside the courthouse saw it differently. "You can't be proud of wearing that hat. You can't be proud of wearing that badge," a black woman shouted at a black police officer. "You must stop working for the masters! Stand down! Stop working for the masters!" "Fifty shots is murder. I don't care what you say. That's what it is," another woman said. Despite the evident anger and a brief fistfight, the crowd remained generally orderly. Mayor Michael Bloomberg issued a statement saying, "An innocent man lost his life, a bride lost her groom, two daughters lost their father, and a mother and a father lost their son. No verdict could ever end the grief that those who knew and loved Sean Bell suffer." However, he said, the legal system must be respected. "America is a nation of laws, and though not everyone will agree with the verdicts and opinions issued by the courts, we accept their authority." Bloomberg also said he had spoken briefly with Paultre Bell on Wednesday and agreed with her on the need to ensure that similar incidents would not occur in the future. Queens County District Attorney Richard A. Brown echoed the mayor's sentiments. "I accept his verdict, and I urge certainly that all fair-minded people in this city to the same," Brown said. "The bottom line is that all of us working together -- the law enforcement community, our elected public officials, our individuals who are involved -- have got to make certain that that which occurred ... is never again repeated." In announcing the verdict, Cooperman said he found problems with the prosecution's case. He said some prosecution witnesses contradicted themselves, and he cited prior convictions and incarcerations of witnesses. "At times, the testimony just didn't make sense," Cooperman said, according to a transcript released by his office. He also cited the demeanor of some witnesses on the stand. Bell was killed just before dawn on his wedding day, November 25, 2006. He and several friends were winding up an all-night bachelor party at the Kalua Club in Queens, a strip club that was under investigation by a NYPD undercover unit looking into complaints of guns, drugs and prostitution. Undercover detectives were inside the club, and plainclothes officers were stationed outside. Witnesses said that about 4 a.m., closing time, as Bell and his friends left the club, an argument broke out. Believing that one of Bell's friends, Joseph Guzman, was going to get a gun from Bell's car, one of the undercover detectives followed the men and called for backup. What happened next was at the heart of the trial, prosecuted by the assistant district attorney in Queens. Bell, Guzman and Trent Benefield got into the car, with Bell at the wheel. The detectives drew their weapons, said Guzman and Benefield, who testified that they never heard the plainclothes detectives identify themselves as police. Bell was in a panic to get away from the armed men, his friends testified. But the detectives thought Bell was trying to run down one of them, believed that their lives were in danger and started shooting, according to their lawyers. A total of 50 bullets were fired by five NYPD officers. Only three were charged with crimes. No gun was found near Bell or his friends. Paultre Bell, Guzman and Benefield have filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in federal court that has been stayed pending the outcome of the criminal trial. Federal prosecutors will conduct a review to determine whether there were any civil rights violations, Brown said. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -
Roman Catholic Church only true church, says Vatican

Debate the topic well? How may I ask you would any Atheist debate a topic about gods well? gods don't exist. That's our only answer to any subject about gods. Here's an example. gods believer: If you don't pray 7 times a day, you'll go to hell. Atheist: That's bullshit. What resource did you get that information from? How can you back it up? gods believer: It's written here in my gods book. This prophet and that wiseman heard that message from the gods directly. Atheist: I don't believe in gods. gods believer: If you eat dolphin, you have sinned and will go to hell. Atheist: That's bullshit. What resource did you get that information from? How can you back it up? gods believer: Our gods as the flying burning bush told our greatest follower and greatest prophet that and spoke to him directly while he was harvesting his vegatables. Atheist: I don't believe in gods. gods believer: If you break any of the 8 commandments, you'll go to hell. Atheist: That's bullshit. What resource did you get that information from? How can you back it up? gods believer: gods wrote that on tablets with his own fingers and gave it to our greatest follower and leader. Atheist: I don't believe in gods. gods believer: Hell was created to punish you if you don't become a gods believer and do gods customs and rituals. Atheist: That's bullshit. What resource did you get that information from? How can you back it up? gods believer: gods told everyone back in the desert when he showed his true form to his people and warned them about what was to come if they didn't believe. gods even showed them what hell would be like if they didn't change their ways right then and there. Atheist: I don't believe in gods. Plain and simply put. Atheists cannot offer a good argument on this subject because our only reply will be "gods don't exist" or "I don't believe in gods". Roman Catholic Church only true church, says Vatican
CameraNewbie replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Speakers Corner
What is an Agnostic anyway? You believe that there may be gods or may not be gods that exists out there, right? You don't know what to believe until it is proven to you, right? So what do you believe at this current time, right this very moment? I would say it's nothing. You believe in nothing. Which makes you an Atheist my friend. You just want a special label that sets you aside from being an Atheist. Atheists here in SC never cease to crack me up. I am one myself and I don't believe in gods. Therefore, I choose not to argue the point because the only statement we can make is "Atheists do not believe in gods". What is the one true church? I don't believe in gods so there is no one true church. What can your gods do for my sin problem? gods don't exist. Sin is used in a religious context. Religions believe in gods. I don't believe in gods. Atheists, repeat after me: "gods don't exist", "gods don't exist", "gods don't exist". This is our only answer for anything that's thrown at us regarding gods. Why are you replying back with anything else. It doesn't make any sense to do so. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -
You were and you and I are the few that say it as simply as that. Other Atheists here like to go above and beyond to disprove gods. You can't say it more accurately than "gods don't exist". Plain and simple, cut and dry. No need to get into a whole discussion about it because our only answer will be, "gods don't exist". What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Finally someone else to tell it like it is. There is no deeper explanation for our beliefs than this. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

I understand your point. However, think about what their bottom line point is - gods don't exist. Any Atheists here can be long winded or write a novel about proving their beliefs. The point that I'm trying to convey is, it boils down to one thing - gods don't exist. Why say it in so many words? Get straight to the point. Keep it short and sweet. Why bother going the distance in proving a belief when our only answer will be, gods don't exist? What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

I've already answered why I replied to this post. --> my post I was trying to say it's senseless to argue about something we don't believe in. All we're going to say is "It doesn't exist". There's really no challenging debate to put on the table here. That's the whole point of my argument. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

That's way too philosophical for me. Gods don't exist and I don't believe in religion because I don't believe that gods exists, which makes me an Atheist. It is what it is and I'm not going to be an open minded Atheist because that would no longer make me an Atheist. By all means, study and read about religions and gods. I choose to stand firm in what I believe in, which is nothing. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

You're reading too much into it. Religion and divine beings go hand in hand. One cannot exist without the other. Hence, Atheists don't believe in religion. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

I appreciate the science lesson but this forum is about why do non-religious people spend time caring about religion. Life is too short. I don't see any sense in spending a few minutes or hours discussing religious beliefs especially when I don't believe in it. It's senseless and it's a waste of time. I have a women in my life to spend time with, bills to pay, business meetings to go to, dropzones to visit, dinner meetings to go to, etc. I was compelled to reply to this post because Atheists here choose to debate, ridicule and test people of religion. If we don't believe in religion, why debate it? Our answer will always be "Gods don't exist". We've known it, we accepted it, we live it, leave those people be and discuss things here in SC that we can back up with facts and disccuss things here that are worth yapping about. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

Which is exactly what you are doing. Atheists don't believe in religion. It's black and white as that. There's no gray line. There's no what if. It's plain and simple. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!
-
You know exactly what I mean. Aren't you an atheists too? What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!
-
Oh stop. You and I both know that we don't belive god exists. Atheists do not believe in God. There's no gray line there Bill. We believe in nothing. It cannot be proven and it won't be proven otherwise. As far as the center of the galaxy I'm sure scientists have proven that it does exist as well as it's weak force. I'll bank my money on them before I bank my money on a god that you and I believe don't exist. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

That's it in a nutshell. Just stick to your manufacturer's suggestion but go synthetic. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!
-
Of course, where is the proof of God? If I can't see him, he doesn't exist, plain and simple. Those are my feelings exactly. Us Atheists expend way too much energy disproving god and christianity or ridiculing them. Life is too freakin' short. Go out and skydive and let others believe whatever they want to believe in. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks!

why do liberals hate cops and vice versa?
CameraNewbie replied to CameraNewbie's topic in Speakers Corner
It's as black and white as you can get. I have no opinion about this. If I did, I would put my .02 in. I don't know much about a liberal. I've just heard them talk about the police in a negative way. I've heard about how police have had less than favorable run ins with liberals. What do protesters want? Dead cops! When do they want it? Every 2 weeks! -

I hear this alot about NY and NJ cops. It's bad that the public always wants to hang you guys for every little mistake that you make. This is probably one of the reasons why cops get depressed along with like you had mentioned such as extreme mental stress from the pressures of the job. For what it's worth, at least he served his duty in law enforcement while he was still alive. Thanks Deuce for protecting and serving your community! What do protesters want? Dead cops!
