  1. This is what President Bush meant when he made his, “Thousand Points of Light” speech. A term derived from Arthur C. Clarke’s, “Rescue Party.” Bush went on to start a foundation dedicated to volunteerism. I’ve mentioned on here before that I was raised Catholic and my family (uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.) would get together for the Danny Thomas Telethon collect money from everyone (kids included) and donate it. It was the beginning teaching us to help someone else. Danny Thomas was of Lebanese descent but raised Catholic and vowed at a young age to create a foundation honoring St. Jude – the Patron Saint of hopeless causes and spent years raising money for it before it even got started (about a decade, I think). Danny’s motto was, “No child should die in the dawn of life.” And, to this day, no family pays for treatment. Each church has some form of “Church Charity.” Each year in Oklahoma when tornadoes ravage through our state, the local churches come together and feed the responders. They work with the local restaurants to produce the food, they rally the money for the restaurants, and they serve the meals so the restaurants can focus on cooking. Same with the grass fires in the Spring (our state is predominately Volunteer Fire Departments). I appreciate your starting this thread because it’s easy to throw rocks at religion and we need to remember they do more good than bad – these days. I lost faith in the Catholic Church as an organization in my twenties, but I didn’t lose faith in the kindness and generosity of those who attend church.
  2. We would say the same thing - not gonna happen. The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law “respecting an establishment of religion.” This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another.
  3. Ken, the point being that Christianity is a culture. You may not agree with everything in that culture, but as liberals would you publicly lambast another culture they way you do Christians on here?
  4. That is the point. Respect for each others' culture. Even on Dropzone.com. What'd you do? Patriot Guards - a group of then mostly Christian men (and all veterans) who stood against those fringe "Christians." So, the answer is, "No." P.S. Did you know the PGR stood against Westboro when they planned on protesting the Gay Pride parade in San Francisco. But, we digress. The point being that the same verbiage used against blacks (or any culture) is used against the Christian culture on this site. I'll bet you have a friend who is Christian.
  5. I'm just curious. Is it OK to hate Christians if they're black? Or, blacks if they're Christian? Is it OK to explain to them that their religion is bullshit, fairy dust and sky puppets? Asking for a friend.

Where was the outrage when they started the anti-vaxx movement. https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/celebrities-anti-vaxxers-jessica-biel-847779/ Please don't get me wrong - I am pro any vaccine that protects the rest of society.
  7. It may be that your friend is one of those people that constantly gets banned while working up to a perma-ban because they simply can't walk away.

    covid-19

I remember a time back in the late 80's when there was a claim it could cure HIV & Cancer. It was quashed for a while, but seems to have re-surfaced for this virus. There's so many smart people out there; I sometimes wonder why we even need an FDA.

  12. How about you let them wire the damn thing in and you take a percentage of the top line revenue.
  13. There is an outdoor mall not far from me. It's about 50% restaurants. For exactly the reasons you mentioned. they have a bank of eight charging stations at the end of the parking lot.

  18. Musk, Bezos, Gates, etc. are not to blame. The tax codes need to be changed. Period.
  19. Personally, I am opposed to abortion, nor do I think we should be fucking with RvW. I believe that my own personal circumstances should not dictate what other people I don't know should or shouldn't do. Well, except for people without vaccines; I should get to dictate what they do. Now leave my 2nd Amendment alone - Deal?
