Move the Skydiving forums to the TOP...
BIGUN replied to AirWhore's topic in Suggestions and Feedback
Prior to changing my username to Bigun from Nightjumps made the same suggestion in June 2004: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1117349;#1117349 Just bring it up because it was at a time of a similar phase in Talkback... Perhaps just changing the Bonfire thread description to... Sit back, relax and chat with fellow skydivers! This is the place for non-skydiving related discussions like what's going on in your world, jokes, staying in touch, etc. Please review and remember the Forum Rules and appreciate the Moderators will ensure they are complied with so everyone can enjoy Bonfire. Politics, guns, religion and other sociological debates should be taken to the Speakers Corner, please. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
SkyFest Family Reunion Boogie- June 4-9, Skydive Carolina, SC
BIGUN replied to Antigua's topic in Events & Places to Jump
It's not a Texas Boogie, it's a boogie primarily focused on helping those with less than a couple of hundred jumps achieve their SCR/S and have fun. It's supposed to be the one weekend attitudes and egos are left at the front door and the experienced skydivers help the others in many ways. The load organizers were primarily the same core group, whether out of state or not. You got any beefs with how it was run, the levels of performance, etc., Feel free to take it up with J offline and not steal the energy with negativity. I don't think she's saying that Autism isn't real... In fact, she say's "I do believe autism and auspergers is real, but am shocked that every time a child "isn't right _insert behaviour here_" they're autistic." As result, there's been an increase in the diagnosis of Autism relative to the same pattern seen in the past with ADD, ADHD, etc.; when in fact, it was just being a little more hyperactive than other kids. Unfortunately, the insurance companies do not have a line item to pay for a JAR case (just ain't right) and allow for proper assessment so a label has to be assigned by a doctor first in order to get some form of treatment/help and for the doctor's to get paid. EDITED TO ADD: As i was typing, this was being added... which I "think" was the core point. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

One only need be ten years old and Darfurian to understand the most recent genocide; or twenty-five and Kurdish before that, and from around the world; one only need be less than 40 years old to find.... Yakubu Gowon (Biafra, 1967-1970) 1,000,000 Leonid Brezhnev (Afghanistan, 1979-1982) 900,000 Jean Kambanda (Rwanda, 1994) 800,000 Suharto (East Timor, West Papua, Communists, 1966-98) 800,000 Saddam Hussein (Iran 1980-1990 and Kurdistan 1987-88) 600,000 Tito (Yugoslavia, 1945-1987) 570,000 Yahya Khan (Pakistan, 1971) vs Bangladesh 500,000 Savimbi (Angola, 1975-2002) 400,000 Mullah Omar - Taliban (Afghanistan, 1986-2001) 400,000 Idi Amin (Uganda, 1969-1979) 300,000 Yahya Khan (Bangladesh, 1970-1971) 300,000 Mobutu Sese Seko (Zaire, 1965-97) ? Charles Taylor (Liberia, 1989-1996) 220,000 Foday Sankoh (Sierra Leone, 1991-2000) 200,000 Slobodan Milosevic (Yugoslavia, 1992-96) 180,000 Michel Micombero (Burundi, 1972) 150,000 Hassan Turabi (Sudan, 1989-1999) 100,000 There is a sliding scale of definitions for "tryanny," but let's agree that it it is about absolute power and control. Therefore, since tryanny can exist from the single crime of one to another or on a mass scale; we have two choices... allow people to defend themselves and arm virtually everyone or put all the guns of the world in a smelter and issue phasers set to stun. The record would seem to be pretty clear. Those with that absolute power and control; from criminal to dictator can be placed in check when faced with one not afraid of those means of power and control. Four U.S. Soldiers Rape and Kill a 14 Years Old Girl
BIGUN replied to Botellines's topic in Speakers Corner
OK.. we'll go with that. But, let's keep in mind that two of the shitheads were later executed at a checkpoint (and not a tear was wept) and the third is/was on trial and prolly won't ever see the light of day. You do know this is about a two years old? Is there a reason for re-surfacing this? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
You'll need 12 #'s at SF this year. You may not need all 12. We're doing some Anvil Brothers dives. Please come prepared. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I can throw a rock and hit 3 skydiving vets between here and Houston. I'm sorry, but as the friend of a vet whom I've seen treat many a pup for Dysplasia and who currently has a ten year old St. Bernard with it. I gotta question vet #3. And, you do know that there are vets in this world that over-extend themselves financially, play on people's emotions and use a technique called, "upsell." Now, I'm sorry about your dog, brother... but the reason some people are challenging your vet's amount is because, you're not the only one to have had a dog go thru this and I'm fairly confident that unless you live in a city paved with gold, 8K sounds a bit steep. Now, you may have stumbled on to the greatest doggie dysplasia othoped on the planet or the other two were doing you right. Vets have a referral network... if they aren't board certified, they could have done a referral and made some money from the referred specialist... Some won't take the money, but there is/was an avenue for them to set you on. They could have "turfed" your pup over. Why didn't they do that? Is vet #3 board-certified? And, will he/she be doing the actual surgery? Or will... anyway... We're just suggesting you do some homework on vet #3 cause a lot of the time, it can be controlled with diet and meds during the evaluation period and most vets don't like to do the surgery till the dog's a couple of years old and have grown into their bodies a little bit. And, if surgery is required, 3-4K is tops for a good surgeon. Shit, fly here and we'll hook you up with the best doggie orthopod in Oklahoma for a lot less and send you home with money in your pocket. "This is appealing since the surgery costs in the $1,800 to $ 3,000 price range." http://www.ygrr.org/doginfo/health-hips.html COLA Chart: http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/aboutnsw/lifestyle/E9_costofliving_comparisons.htm Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Retired Green Beret Gets Court Martial After Shooting Intruder

I'm assuming you and your friend were shooting into [dry?] paper. Whereas, the more accurate test for penetration would be wet paper and bone. http://www.handloads.com/misc/linebaugh.penetration.tests.asp Regardless of round; it was a helluva shot. Mr. Intruder should be greatful of his choice in caliber so he can live to poop his drawers another day. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -

PC Free Zone is reporting that an 80-year-old retired Green Beret has been tried by his peers after shooting an intruder in his Knoxville, Tennessee home. He is the oldest member of Chapter XXXIII of the Special Forces Association. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
Why miss nergirl, I do declare, I believe you could wave your magical prose over my ridiculous response and turn it into a rainbow called segue. And for that, I do thank you. Very true. I do believe it is about youth, money and future promises. And, IMO - we may want to be carerful of the promissory notes we sign. As baby boomers continue to nestle into the SS system, we're going to create a younger generation nestling into the VA system (which at 100% also gets you into the SS system) and you and I will find ourselves becoming the sandwich generation. Oops.. too late. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
