    I didn't suggest they forecast the costs of the security detail. They could give a budgetary estimate of the total trip (of which security would be one slice of the pie); but can't for "security reasons." Bullshit. They can say it will cost ~"X" for this trip and the GAO will release the details of itemization after the trip. Anyway, none of that matters. Taking 3,000 people anywhere internationally right now is silly. Heck, for security purposes alone; this trip should be canceled.     OK. So, the White House can't forecast the costs for security reasons. Let's assume the ENTIRE trip is 50 million. Why go and spend that money? Let's use the Clinton amount from 12 years ago - 11 million. Why go and spend that money? Let's take the R and D out of the equation. Is this a good time to be giving even the appearance of either an R or a D spending that much on a trip with 3,000 people to the Taj Mahal? We're laying off police officers and fireFighters all around the country for God's sake. Use your head, Sir. How many police officers or firefighters will that money keep on the rolls for another year. It's no wonder Tuesday was the shot heard 'round the world.     What is needed is the removal of incremental budgeting and the implementation of zero-based budgeting on both sides of the aisle. Personally, I still scratch my head at the need for 16 separate Intelligence Agencies and a DNI whose job it is to collate the information from those agencies, back to those agencies. From my centrist conservative perspective, the liberals can roll up all government programs and label them as "Entitlements" if it makes them "feel better." However, 1) Veterans have benefits, 2) Entitlement programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are programs in which one is "supposed" to pay into, and 3) Those programs that others pay for - are Welfare. Now, I'm not opposed to Welfare as a gap measure using about 34 States form of a Performance-Based Model; but am opposed to it as a way of life; UNLESS, one is disabled and not a Veteran and then we have a moral, social and ethical responsibility to help them as much as possible (so long as said disability was not received as the result of criminal activity). Sorry, I can't help with the Vortex, I don't know anything about them, but thought they were a nice looking rig when they presented them at WFFC a few years ago.     In addition to Dave's post, I might add that doing anything to cause him to swerve _might_ create a more dangerous situation for the kiddos. My suggestion is for you and your neighbors to stand out there with video when he comes through the neighborhood and then take the video to the local police to see if they can have a talk with him.     Please re-read your original post talking about a trunk smell and asking if this was a good idea. Did you really want advice or to debate the matter? If you're set on transferring your rig in your trunk unprotected, then go for it... It's not our rig to jump or replace. Heck for that matter, if you have one, leave the AAD turned on when you throw it in the trunk. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
