In not reading the actual verbiage; I'll make a couple of comments. 1, It may very well have been nothing more than a typo for WWII vets and instead of correcting them on the matter - folks get "riled up" and start throwing rocks in several ponds to cause ripples in many places. 2. Please don't commingle a facebook faux pas with the quality of training you'd receive there. They have some damn good Instructors. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

She has been off & on ill for awhile. I was surprised to see her profile changed to a hospital bed and new location. I'm going to try to call her again later this morning. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Has anyone heard from AJ? It's been awhile. I've called and got nothing. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

...is going to put one of these: https://www.hooters.com/Home/Default.aspx Right next to one of these: http://www.bjsrestaurants.com/ And, right next to one of these: http://www.kumandgo.com/ They better make a really big parking lot.

Ya know... good point. I've thought that more than once.

Not really. They put it in their log and move on. One idea might be to list it as stolen and see if it pops up. JUST KIDDING Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Yeah, but it would make for a great Sick & Twisted thread, right? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Well, any further discussion on the "options" part would probably get this kicked to SC, and we're losing the spirit of AggieDave's original post anyway, which is to appreciate the folks who are doing the work that truly can't or doesn't wait until after the holiday is over. People can decide whether to shop and stores can decide whether to be open, but unfortunately fires, accidents, illnesses, injuries, etc., don't care what date's on the calendar and the folks who "keep the lights on" to help those affected are definitely deserving of our gratitude. Oh Dear Lord... I completely forgot we were in BF. Agreed. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Supply & Demand. If nobody shopped on those days, the stores wouldn't open. If you walked in the door to apply for a job knowing that a holiday is one of their biggest revenue producing days; then don't act surprised or complain when you have to work a holiday. There's always options. Even in Detroit where the only option is to leave. Which gives one many more options. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Shouldn't that whole pesky "Profit thing" be erased from the American way? It's just upsetting that so many people hire on to a job they know requires holiday work and yet, they still do not choose to walk out the door. I just don't understand it. Dear Family, I'm not dead yet. Thanksgiving is still important to me. If being in my Last Will and Testament is important to you, then you might consider being with me for my favorite holiday. Dinner is at 2:00. Not 2:15. Not 2:05. Precisely at 2:00 Arrive late and you get what's left over. Last year, that moron Marshall fried a turkey in one of those contraptions and practically burned the deck off the house. This year, the only peanut oil used to make the meal will be from the secret scoop of peanut butter I add to the carrot soup. Jonathan, your last new wife was an idiot. You don't arrive at someone's house on Thanksgiving needing to use the oven and the stove. Honest to God, I thought you might have learned after two wives - date them longer and save us all the agony of another divorce. Now, the house rules are slightly different this year because I have decided that 47% of you don't know how to take care of nice things. Paper plates and red Solo cups might be bad for the environment, but I'll be gone soon and that will be your problem to deal with. House Rules: 1. The University of Texas no longer plays Texas A&M. The television stays off during the meal. 2. The "no cans for kids" rule still exists. We are using 2 liter bottles because your children still open a third can before finishing the first two. Parents can fill a child's cup when it is empty. All of the cups have names on them and I'll be paying close attention to refills. 3. Chloe, last year we were at Trudy's house and I looked the other way when your Jell-O salad showed up. This year, if Jell-O salad comes in the front door it will go right back out the back door with the garbage. Save yourself some time, honey. You've never been a good cook and you shouldn't bring something that wiggles more than you. Buy something from the bakery. 4. Grandmothers give grandchildren cookies and candy. That is a fact of life. Your children can eat healthy at your home. At my home, they can eat whatever they like as long as they finish it. 5. I cook with bacon and bacon grease. That's nothing new. Your being a vegetarian doesn't change the fact that stuffing without bacon is like egg salad without eggs. Even the green bean casserole has a little bacon grease in it. That's why it tastes so good. Not eating bacon is just not natural. And as far as being healthy... look at me. I've outlived almost everyone I know. 6. Salad at Thanksgiving is a waste of space. 7. I do not like cell phones. Leave them in the car. 8. I do not like video cameras. There will be 32 people here. I am sure you can capture lots of memories without the camera pointed at me. 9. Being a mother means you have to actually pay attention to the kids. I have nice things and I don't put them away just because company is coming over. Mary, watch your kids and I'll watch my things. 10. Rhonda, a cat that requires a shot twice a day is a cat that has lived too many lives. I think staying home to care for the cat is your way of letting me know that I have lived too many lives too. I can live with that. Can you? 11. Words mean things. I say what I mean. Let me repeat: You don't need to bring anything means you don't need to bring anything. And if I did tell you to bring something, bring it in the quantity I said. Really, this doesn't have to be difficult. 12. Domino's and cards are better than anything that requires a battery or an on/off switch. That was true when you were kids and it's true now that you have kids. 13. Showing up for Thanksgiving guarantees presents at Christmas. Not showing up guarantees a card that may or may not be signed. In memory of your Grandfather, the back fridge will be filled with beer. Drink until it is gone. I prefer wine anyway. But one from each family needs to be the designated driver. I really mean all of the above. Love You, Grandma Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Great Story, Rob. I hope you get well soon. It wasn't until recently that I've chosen to get a dog again. It 's always been a "Responsibility" thing. I disagree with the philosophy of getting a dog and throwing them in the backyard to exist and not playing with them, training them, socializing them, taking them on outings, etc. And, I found myself with not one, but two black labs. Both smart, eager and willing to learn. On more than one occasion, they've scratched the back door and sat there with this look on their face like, "Not really sure what you're doing in there human, but you need to get your ass back out here and play." *** Right now I am concerned about the 22 suicides per day committed by veterans. Some other veterans and I are working on an outreach. Most of those are WWII & Korean Veterans. In most cases, they've lost most of their friends, family and veteran buddies. But, you know most of this. Anyway, please check the website below to see if there's a "Vet Center" in your area. This is their specialty and is is nothing like the VA. There's not even any records kept for the VA. If ou can get them there, these people work tirelessly to assist the veteran whose threatened suicide. Your local Community Service Council or Medical Reserve Corps or Health Department offers free "Psychological First Aid" courses. http://www.va.gov/directory/guide/vetcenter.asp?isFlash=0 They also need volunteers. Good luck on your venture. If you make a difference in just one life; you've made a difference. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Yeah, I have one. My S/O's house was part of a Christmas Time Snatch & Grab Break in. Rig, log books, electronics, cash, etc. They used her sheets to throw stuff on the bed and were in & out in 5 minutes. Grabbed her gear bag. We posted her gear with the PD's in the area. Made up fliers for all the local DZs Posted it in the stolen gear DB on here Registered her AAD With Cypres as stolen. Two months later.... Cop in Arkansas pulls over a stolen vehicle. Opens the trunk. Cop is a new skydiver - recent A license. Remembers something about a stolen rig and looks it up. Calls her. Has to turn it in for evidence (the guys in the stolen car were on a crime spree after just being released from prison and my other half was one of the victims). Unfortunately, the log books were not recovered. Biggest PITA trying to re-create those and get signatures. Signatures from WFFC were done by those other than the originals; but by those who were with us when she made the jumps. She'd had some famous people sign her books and those were lost forever. Your Rigger or if you purchased through a dealer.... should have your main info... Don't know if you know about this. http://www.dropzone.com/stolen/ You might also make a flier and send to the rigging lofts in Chicago and St. Louis. Peek may be able to help guide you in the St. Louis area. Good Luck. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Thank you for the clarification. Have you considered lining up enough AFF students that would make it lucrative for the Dutch to bring an AFF/I down for training for ten days to train several through their A license? There is a DZ in Texas that can get people an A license in a week (Spaceland). You might also consider what we did back in the day... we didn't have profit centers - we had a trailer, a field, members with rigs who showed up, and someone had a friend who was a pilot with a plane. We threw up some tents for the evening and if available used an old building as a packing shed and DZ's were built from there up. Just a few years ago, I did a Demo out of a 172. No step, the pilot put the brakes on so I could use the wheel to launch. Point is: You don't have to go big. Keep trying and you'll succeed. It's good to have dreams, but you have to start somewhere. Good Luck. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
