  1. Morning, Bill. Those are called "Stand-Downs" and are actually a nationwide effort in each city. We've been doing them here for the past several years. Two years ago seemed to peak where we got 177 Homeless vets off the streets, in shelter, clothing, household items, etc. in less than 24 hours and eventually jobs. http://www.va.gov/homeless/events.asp Last year, we were down to 13 because the VA and HUD had set up an office and anyone driving around seeing a homeless person could call the office any day of the year and they would send out a van to check them out. There are those that take the book bag of clothes, the shower, the food and tell everyone they wish to remain on the streets. And, that is their right. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  2. I don't understand this. If you have one table of ten and the bill is one thousand dollars or you have ten tables of one hundred dollars; the tip "Should" be the same. And, most restaurants have the 15-18% will be added to the bill understanding on groups of 8 or more written on the menu.... So, if one of those ten tables doesn't tip the 15%; she loses money on the ten. If one of the ten tips more; then it'll make up for the shortfall. If she were on a wage; then it wouldn't matter if it were ten tables or a table of ten. She would make the same. 3. I'll ask that we don't take this off on a tangent, please. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  4. Formalized; I believe so. The rest are on a sliding scale of forbidden to appreciated with varying percentages. . Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  5. I tend to agree, but having not been in the food industry am unsure of the margins. I know its about 100% on alcohol sales alone. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  6. OK. I know we had a conversation about it it in another thread the other day, but we had drifted the topic off.... Watch this.. you'll laugh cause you'll know who I am in this and what are your thoughts on the matter? http://digg.com/video/why-tipping-should-be-banned Is it possible to pay a fair wage without tipping? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  7. The A.L.I.C.E training has NO such employment of canned goods for middle schoolers to be chunking or to even get involved (empowerment comment) with intruders. The school employees have a "duty to protect." Send the children running to hide and the teachers, administrators, clerks, janitors, campus police, etc. have the responsibility to take the necessary precautions to protect their students and to employ the distraction, tackle, chunk, create chaos, etc. techniques. The first Principal that sends me an email saying that my daughter has to bring in a canned item to be chunked at an intruder by my kid is the day my kid gets pulled out of that school!! 8. It will eventually dry up, several centuries from now under present day production levels. I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from, but everything I've read from oil economists to BP giant say that we have 53.3 years left at current levels. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  9. Good in the short-term; bad for the long-haul. We all agree that oil is a finite resource. We cannot continue to produce 32 billion barrels a year and not expect the well to dry up. In the short-term; middle income will be able to purchase more durable goods which stimulates the economy, however once prices begin to increase again spending will be curtailed and we'll have another recessionary period. I think we all know the nature of mankind. Instead of using this respite to continue to invest in non-fossil fuel solutions; they'll be put on the back burner until people get the next oil shortage scare. We unfortunately live in the here and now and can't have enough foresight to think and work towards five years from now. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  10. Yes. The YouTube video on the DZ.com Home Page about the new Sony sums some of the problems up nicely. They are very cautious not to mention GoPro... but the points they make are valid. My favorite being the "Jello Effect." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  11. Ya know... I can see how you came to that conclusion. That was poorly written. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  12. I understand. Good luck on the election! Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  13. But most PD's have a Media Relations Officer - and it's been my experience from siting on the Chamber and several other community councils; that they don't show unless we think they need to be there. It's an open forum. Make the positives you do be seen. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  14. Needless to say, the Police have a PR problem. This one "Act of Kindness" has touched three communities. More like this need be done OR knowing how much you guys do FOR your communities need to have better relations with the media. Law Enforcement Officers Honor Glenpool Boy At Funeral Thanks to those guys. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  15. So, we're talking about the "Huffington Post Effect." A compilation of news reported by other sources, reported by other sources, reported by other sources, reported by other sources... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  18. I have an affinity for redheads and I can see you pulling this off with your skin tone. More than half of my flames have been redheads - the rest blonde. So I consider myself a connoisseur of fine reds. I like my redheads like I like my bourbon (Makers Mark). Smooth; with a little ice. Harsh; when straight up.
  19. So you wanna play, "Can You Top this?" Try living with a natural one, who cannot only go from calm to pissed off in 0.2 nanoseconds... but can do a spay or neuter in less than seven minutes. Somebody actually gave a redhead a medical license to use knives... Show you how smart I am... I'm the one sleeping next to it. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  20. "There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Mercedes-Benz 500SL." "Sex at age 90 is like trying to shoot pool with a rope." "Women might be able to fake orgasms. But men can fake a whole relationship." "My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son-of-a-bitch." "Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is." "Ah, yes, divorce, from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet." "Women need a reason to have sex. Men just need a place" "According to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing in front of men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say that women are too judgmental, where, of course, men are just grateful." "There's a new medical crisis. Doctors are reporting that many men are having allergic reactions to latex condoms. They say they cause severe swelling. So what's the problem?" "There's very little advice in men's magazines, because men think, 'I know what I'm doing. Just show me somebody naked!" "See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time." "It's been so long since I've had sex, I've forgotten who ties up whom." Sex is one of the most wholesome, beautiful and natural experiences money can buy. You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman. Stuff you pay good money for later in life. "Bigamy is having one wife too many. Monogamy is the same." “It isn't premarital sex if you have no intention of getting married." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  22. I suck at investing. Don't listen to a word I say about it. Sincerely, 2002 tech stock collapse victim Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  23. In addition to the advice already given.... I am a big fan of Billvon's "Downsizing Checklist." http://www.dropzone.com/safety/Canopy_Control/Downsizing_Checklist_47.html Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  24. I'll tip 15% on the untaxed portion for regular service and 20% on the untaxed portion for good service. I will not pay a tip on taxes. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
