  1. There were two losers to chose from and 90 milion of us chose not to choose either, whereas you apparently chose to vote for the biggest loser. Nope. You need not speak for Gowlerk; he's perfectly capable of scratching my eyes out on his own.
  2. You sure it's not over the new capital gains tax? C'mon, Ken. It's just political noise. Nobody's gonna take Canada.
  3. Pick what's important, Ken. If you're so hair-on-fire this early in the game; you're gonna need an emotional support puppy sooner than later.
  4. "Again, he's not at all serious. He just wants to distract from the rest of the stuff he's doing." ~BillVon
  5. I don't know, you don't know . . . with all that's going on it seems to be a small thing to me.
  6. Yup. I addressed in the reply in post 15. And, I read the whole article.
  7. I went directly to the webpage to check. Can't get all "hate brown people" on this one. IT folk use; Home, Go Home, Go to Home and some rely on the back button putting nothing at all when revising web pages. It was pointed out and fixed. Next subject.
  8. Over Cheney's four years as secretary of defense, encompassing budgets for fiscal years 1990-93, DoD's total obligational authority in current dollars declined from $291.3 billion to $269.9 billion. Except for FY 1991, when the TOA budget increased by 1.7 percent, the Cheney budgets showed negative real growth: -2.9 percent in 1990, -9.8 percent in 1992, and -8.1 percent in 1993. During this same period total military personnel declined by 19.4 percent, from 2.202 million in FY 1989 to 1.776 million in FY 1993. The Army took the largest cut, from 770,000 to 572,000–25.8 percent of its strength. The Air Force declined by 22.3 percent, the Navy by 14 percent, and the Marines by 9.7 percent. https://history.defense.gov/Multimedia/Biographies/Article-View/Article/571284/richard-b-cheney/ Not long after - Clinton had a RIF of 400,000 federal employees. (Federal Workforce Restructuring Act.)
  9. I used to do acquisitions. There's a period of assessment, observation, and stake holder input as you being to downsize. THEN, you develop a strategic plan. Then you sell it with lower-level endorsement. The last top-down RIF mandate came right after Desert Storm. It was fucking nasty. Thank you Mr. Cheney.
  10. Jesus. It's going to be a long, hard, four years. "I'm getting too old for this shit." ~Roger Murtough
  11. OK. so you and I are done on this subject.
  12. Here is what they would return to: https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/gaza-destruction Who would rebuild it? As to the Palestinians: Follow the Oslo Accords. Totally unnecessary.
  13. This is the most plausible. Well, there is that. Welcome back.
  14. Ken, I think you're overreacting. I listened to and read all three items you posted. In the BBC article; it states that the 25 mile strip of Gaza would take 21 years to make it habitable again. Relocating people during a reconstruction effort is not ethnic cleansing. After walking thru the streets of New Orleans with Gov. Jindal after Katrina; he said it would take ten years to rebuild. It did. Everyone was given a chance to relocate until the reconstruction occurred, many returned, many did not. They'd made a life elsewhere.
  15. As mentioned, I have not been staying up on the news cycle, but this sounded very ominus, so I sought out to find his actual words. In the end, it was quite an exercise to try and find them amongst the similar noise you stated. Every media outlet is hair on fire enraged and then I found this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Kud_7va2VYg It's temporary and if you look at the pictures of devastation, how could anyone safely and healthily live there. It sounds like a rebuilding effort. I still haven't found what he actually said, so if you have a source, please feel free to share (not what others said he said)
  16. I'm there. This past year hit quite the crescendo.
  17. No argument, brother. A more methodical phased approach.
  18. I did not. Permanent or Temporary? I'm trying to stay off the news cycle. Seems to just piss me off lately.
  19. We took over Japan after WWII and rebuilt their nation, then handed it back. What Trumpo is saying is that with our help, it could be a beautiful as Rio. I "think" what he's posturing for - is the Arab nations to step up and do as they did in Abu Dhabi. I envision a Skydive Gaza
  20. Afternoon, Nigel. They did it for one month. Here's a more in-depth article than the false X meme going around the internet https://www.newsweek.com/mexico-national-guard-soldiers-border-make-any-difference-trump-tariff-talks-2026177
  21. I've got Jakee blocked, but my guess is; he's making my point, not his.
  22. If you continue to engage Jakee; you will find yourself in a never-ending circular argument. I and several others blocked him a long time ago. https://www.skydiveforum.com/forums/topic/271501-more-sacrifices-to-the-2nd-amendment/page/140/?tab=comments#comment-5034531
  23. I doubt it also. I was speaking about the facts of the situation, not the politics. I don't know anything about this Beattie person.
  24. Well actually, that's exactly what they were doing. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/07/22/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us/#:~:text=Here are key findings about,of 6.9 million in 2007. That is per year. There's "almost" not a day in my town where an illegal immigrant isn't in the news for anything from theft to murder. In the graph in the following article, the exponential increase in drugs seized is getting silly - keep in mind, that's just what they confiscated. https://immigrationforum.org/article/illicit-fentanyl-and-drug-smuggling-at-the-u-s-mexico-border-an-overview/
