  1. That is a solution that the VA is also undertaking for homeless veterans. I think it's a great idea, myself. EDIT: "...particularly the community nature of it." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  2. In the late 70's and early 80's; Roy had a Golf Classic every year here in Tulsa. Before the Classic would start; we would jump into the tournament to "Kick it off." Roy and all the rest of the Hee Haw gang would come shake our hands to thank us and then we'd pack up, go inside and have a great buffett with them. They were all pretty down to earth and classy. Roy was one of the great ambassadors of our city. His philanthropic endeavors were well known around Tulsa and he helped many charities. Thanks, Roy. You will be missed. https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/15/entertainment/roy-clark-dies/index.html Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  3. And your taxes are low. I understand why other countries think that, but when you look at the cumulative total - it's different than just comparing Federal Income tax. Federal Income Tax State Income Tax City Income Tax Property Taxes Real Estate Taxes Estate Taxes Sales Taxes Fuel Taxes Excise Tax Gift Taxes Retirement Taxes Sin taxes User Fees (taxes that are assessed on a wide variety of services, including airline tickets, rental cars, toll roads, utilities, hotel rooms, licenses, financial transactions and many others. Cell phones, for example, may have as many as eleven separate user taxes, running up the monthly bill by as much as 20 percent.) And God forbid you should have a small business: Payroll Taxes Unemployment compensation Worker's compensation Etc. Etc. 4. Did I miss a memo regarding the re-vamp? Have we lost the ability to add attachments? I can't add an attachment on here to show you that I'm getting nothing. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  6. Hell, while we're at it; let's burn a bit over the BILLIONS of dollars in military mistakes. https://gizmodo.com/the-strange-sad-story-of-the-armys-new-billion-dollar-1616285708 Nah, let's try TRILLIONS... https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-04-04/is-the-f-35-a-trillion-dollar-mistake And we wonder why taxes are so frickin high, our ability to help those in need of social programs, or hell; how about the plain old ground-pounder whose family had to pay for bullet-proof vests?!??!? Money to reduce the student-teacher ratio in our public schools - Don't be ridiculous!!! But, I ramble. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  7. Well, read this and "Feel the Burn, Baby." Over the past 15 years, the federal government has provided $68 billion in grants and special tax credits to business, with two-thirds of the total going to large corporations. http://www.goodjobsfirst.org/sites/default/files/docs/pdf/megadeals_report.pdf Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  8. I've been talking about this up here: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/thecurrent/the-current-for-november-13-2018-1.4902679/indigenous-women-kept-from-seeing-their-newborn-babies-until-agreeing-to-sterilization-says-lawyer-1.4902693?fbclid=IwAR0ZR3tHDntFfbfbmH2D5cQGOFtHmPjdzeSWwJxi43qwXfojIP06qaHP0q4 So yes, I do. Thanks. Yes, yes you do. The US still engages in that stupidity to this day. What. The. Fuck? Why would they do this? It's been going on for a couple of hundred years here in the US. It re-escalated in the 90's as a result of Clinton's Welfare Reform led by the Republicans (the sterilization) who were figuring out other ways to reduce the "Welfare Queens." If memory serves; there was one case of a lady with 7 or 9 children that had been sterilized against her will. She went in for one procedure and they just added another (as long as she was unconscious). It made national news and resulted in some changes directed by Judges - must have letter of consent, must have 72 hour waiting period, etc. I "think" it still goes on in US Prisons today. The lady with the 7 or 9 kids did not help her case much when she told the press I have to keep trying until I give my husband a son or he'll leave me The whole situation has and always will be goofy IMO. You know, all politics and affiliations aside; I sometimes wonder how someone gets a "good idea" like this in their head, but even more importantly; turns around and tells someone else who then thinks that it too is a good idea - instead of just slapping the shit out of him and saying, "Shut up. You're a fucking idiot." Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

  12. Party affiliation among voters: 1992-2016 Interesting reading. I think the millenials have got it right. http://www.people-press.org/2016/09/13/2-party-affiliation-among-voters-1992-2016/ Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  13. Thank you, Florida. Most states don't have that silliness: If your absentee ballot is mailed to you, you must return it to the county election board by mail. An absentee ballot must be received by the county election board before 7 p.m. on election day to be counted. What's so hard about that? 19. There's a difference between "in fear of your life" and intimidation. But an armed society is a polite society. Why would anybody feel intimidated when they have the great equalizer on their side? The presence of armed people is supposed to stop violence, can't feel intimidated if violence is already being stopped. Now you're being silly. For someone who professes to know so much about our country and its laws - or how we should be changing our gun laws... I'll try again - There's a difference between "in fear of your life" and intimidation. If you'd like me to drill it down for you; I'm happy to do it. Or, you can just keep squawking, "Banana Republic, Banana Republic," in every post. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  20. I have not heard this. Citation? That's an easy Google Search. Its always difficult to tell with Rush because he's functionally illiterate, but it sounds to me like he's saying all of Kavanaugh's accusers have been referred or admitted to lying. This is absolutely not true. If he's saying that Skydekker believed all of the subset of accusers who have admitted lying or are under investigation for lying then I don't believe that's true either. There were accusers who were credible, and accusers who were not credible. The existence of the non-credible accusers does not change the likelyhood that the original, credible accusers are telling the truth. No matter how much Rush wants it to be so. Yeah, throwing that "all" in there. I get it. Good catch. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  21. There's a difference between "in fear of your life" and intimidation. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
  22. Definitely agreed there. However, there are two parts to that definition - violence and intimidation. You highlighted the latter. But lately, the right wing extremists have tended more towards the former. No argument. In fact, right-wing extremist terrorism is on the rise. My reason for highlighting "Intimidation" was that line between protesting and intimidation. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
